Sunday morning

Lucius woke up late that Sunday morning. It was almost noon, and Narcissa had left an hour ago to visit her friends. And that meant that their four-year-old son was somewhere in the manor without supervision. Draco was always full of mischief, and leaving him alone was never a very good idea. Lucius yawned and got out of bed. He put on his dressing gown and left the bedchamber. He didn't even bother to go looking for Draco in his room down the hall; he knew the boy wouldn't be there.

While walking across the hallway on the ground floor, Lucius heard voices coming from the kitchen. He opened the swing door, and had to put his hand to his mouth to prevent himself from laughing.

Draco sat in his chair at the table, his back turned against the door. He wore one of Lucius' top hats, his black French coat, and beside him on the table laid Lucius' walking stick. But that was not all. Draco had taken out all the ice-cream he could have found, Chocolate Frogs and a bunch of other sweets. Lucius didn't dare to think about how his coat looked in the front... Draco was a messy kid. Next to Draco sat Dobby, dangling his legs and looking admiring at Draco. The boy held out a spoon full of ice-cream (vanilla-flavored) to Dobby.

"Here, Dobby," he said with his childish voice. "Taste it!"

Dobby nodded eagerly, and smiled gratefully when he received the spoon and put it in his mouth.

"Dobby must say it was the most delicious ice cream Dobby has ever tasted, young Master Malfoy!" the house-elf said when he'd swallowed it.

Draco laughed. "I know! Daddy buys the best ice cream in the world!" The boy pushed a big bowl with ice cream towards Dobby. "This is yours, Dobby," he said, grinning.

Dobby's eyes filled with tears. "Young Master Malfoy, wants to give Dobby his own bowl?"

Draco nodded.

"Dobby is most honoured!" Dobby said and Draco looked satisfied. Lucius smiled.

"Dobby," Draco said. "Do you want to hear a song?"

Dobby looked surprised, but happy. "Young Master Malfoy wants to sing? To Dobby?"

"Yes," Draco giggled. He took a deep breath:

Muggles are worthless, no doubt about that,

They can't throw a curse or cast a spell,

But they can't help it, they were born like that!

---

They can't do magic, they can't use a Floo,

And they don't have owl,

And their pictures don't move!

---

I'm a wizard and much better, that's true,

Muggles make me sick to my gut,

They're scum under my shoe!

---

I'm a Malfoy and my blood is pure,

Some people say Muggles are my equals,

Ha ha ha yeah, sure!

---

There's a lot of things Muggles can't do,

And I'll tell you the best thing,

They can't attend Hogwarts School, wohoo!

---

Dobby clapped his hands almost hysterically with tears of joy in his eyes. "Young Master Malfoy, that was the most wonderful song Dobby has ever heard in his life! Yes, Dobby thinks so!"

Lucius had to put his whole hand in his mouth to stop himself from screaming with laughter.

"I heard it from daddy," Draco said, his mouth full if ice-cream. "He sang it in the shower yesterday."

Dobby smiled. "Yes, yes! Dobby knows Master Malfoy is a great singer. A great singer indeed!"

"Not as great at my son," said Lucius and stepped into the room. Draco jumped out of his chair and ran towards his father, grinning widely.

"Daddy!"

The blonde boy hugged his father tightly as Lucius picked him up and walked across the room. He put Draco down in his chair, and sat down in front of his son and his house-elf.

"Good morning, Dobby."

"Good morning, Master Malfoy," Dobby answered, clearly overwhelmed by the kindness from his Master. However nothing could make Lucius stop smiling this morning.

"So," the man said, with an amused grin. "Who gave you permission to take out all the ice-cream, huh?"

Draco giggled. "It wasn't me," he said innocently. "It was Dobby. I had just found him when you came in..."

Dobby got tears in his eyes (not of joy this time) and looked up at his Master. However, Lucius only chuckled. "It's okay, Dobby. I know it was Draco. He was only kidding."

Dobby calmed himself down. "Yes, Master Malfoy. Dobby knew young Master Malfoy was only fooling Dobby."

"I'm sorry, Dobby," Draco said. The boy held out his arms, and the little house-elf hugged him.

"Young Master Malfoy is a funny boy, Dobby knows that!" he said.

"Have some more ice cream, Dobby!"

However, Dobby shook his head. "Dobby must return to his duties, young Master Malfoy. Dobby must clean young Master Malfoy's room."

This time, Lucius was the one to shake his head. "My son can clean his room by himself, Dobby. You may return to the other house-elves. I call you if I need you."

"Yes, Master Malfoy." Dobby answered. Then he waved his hand at Draco. "Goodbye, young Master Malfoy."

Draco waved back. "Bye, Dobby!"

Dobby disappeared with a crack and Draco turned to his father. "Daddy, I really can't clean my room all by my self..."

Lucius frowned. "And why is that, Draco?"

The boy looked down at his hands, but Lucius didn't miss the smirk that spread on his little face. "Dobby overturned my bookcase and spread all my toys out on the floor..."

Lucius laughed. "Did he now? Accidentally, of course?"

"Yes, accidentally," Draco sniggered.

"Well," Lucius smirked back. "Dobby is a busy house-elf, so I'm afraid you'll have to clean it by yourself anyway."

Draco faced his father. His smirk resembled so much of Lucius own. "Can I finish my ice cream first, Daddy?"

Lucius pretended to consider it, putting a hand under his chin and looking up at the ceiling. Draco grinned.

"I believe you can, Draco." His son took a mouth full of strawberry flavored ice-cream and then held out another spoon to Lucius.

"Taste it, Daddy. It's fabulous!"

Lucius laughed out loud. "It is? I better taste it, then."

Lucius smile was ten miles wide as he put the spoon is his mouth and finished the ice-cream breakfast with his son.

The End
