The Halliwells Charm Hogwarts
stargoddess127
- Story Summary:
- What happens when three girls from America, in the heart of San Francisco, are accepted to Hogwarts? I decided to change the story of the Charmed Ones. They’re young girls and their powers haven’t been bound, and they find more powers than they thought they had. Prue, Piper, and Phoebe are going to Hogwarts, and they’re in for the time of their lives. They're ready to go to Hogwarts, but is Hogwarts ready to have them?

- Author's Note:
- Here’s a little FYI for those of you who don’t know 'Charmed'. It’s a television show about three witches who had their powers bound (they had them as children, but then they were taken away for their safety by their grandmother and weren’t given back til she died. But they never knew they had them.) Prue is the eldest, Piper is the middle, and Phoebe is the youngest. Prue can move things with her mind (telekinesis), Piper can freeze time and blow things up (she either slows down the molecules or speeds them up at whatever she’s aiming at.) And Phoebe has premonitions (she can see into the past or future, but she doesn’t know when it’s the past or the future, and she can’t control them.) A whitelighter basically protects witches and consults “the elders” who are like ultimately good. Oh ya, and I kind of changed the time period. That’s about all I can think of right now. Thanks lucky, chrissy, my bros and jazz cuz she rocks!
Chapter I: The Invitation
"The power of three will set us free, the power of three will set us free, the power of three will set us free!"
"Prue, Piper, Phoebe, what are you three doing?" inquired the girls' grandmother.
"A warlock popped up, and we had to vanquish him."
"Girls, you know you're supposed to come to me. Piper freezes him, then Phoebe goes to get me, so if he tries any funny business, then Prue flings him against the wall."
"Grams!" Prue protested, "I'm fourteen! I think we're old enough to vanquish a warlock, maybe not a demon."
"Prue, you and Piper may be old enough, but Phoebe is only ten. You know your powers are more hands on. That's why she's kickboxing."
"HELLO! Phoebe, standing right in front of you! It's not my fault; all I can do is get premonitions!"
"Sorry dear, but don't worry, your powers will grow, no doubt about it. One of these days you'll be able to control your premonitions. It just takes time. Just like your sisters' powers did. And you're just as important as your sisters. Without three girls, there is no power of three, and how would you be able to save the world? It just doesn't work. So we need you too, Phoebe." But Phoebe wasn't consoled.
"Ya, but sometimes I just wish that I had more powers and that I could help more often," Phoebe complained.
"Honey, you girls have your own special qualities. You're excellent at making spells, Piper's good at mixing potions, and Prue, well...uh...she's good at, taking leadership of situations."
"You mean she's bossy," quipped Piper.
"I heard that!" Prue yelled from the kitchen. She had left the conversation to go and get some of Grams (the obvious nickname for her grandmother. Everyone called her Grams.) wonderful brownies. "I am NOT bossy! Say that again, and you'll be sorry! I'm warning you!"
"Ha! You see? She...uh... does like to take charge of certain issues. Ya," Piper said uncertainly. And she mumbled something else about Prue always being the leader.
"Ah!" Prue yelled. "Take that back!" Prue jumped high in the air towards Piper, but she quickly moved aside. Prue quickly moved the couch to cushion her fall. "That's not fair!" Prue protested. "You moved!"
"What was I supposed to do? Stay there and wait for you to land on me and then pulverize me? I don't think so! I'm not that stupid!" Piper argued back.
"Oh, and I suppose you're calling me stupid?"
"I never said that! You're putting words into my mouth!" Prue gasped.
"I AM NOT! I'm simply telling you what you told me."
"LIAR!" Piper coughed disguising the word as a cough.
"Girls! Stop your bickering right now. You three are the Charmed Ones, and need to be united. You can't protect the world from demons, if you can't fight your own demons."
"Grams, you always tell us this," Phoebe butted in. "Even when we're fighting over what pizza we want for dinner."
"That's because you're to work as a team. As sisters."
"For pizza?" Piper asked incredulously. "Anyway, we are acting like sisters. Sisters always fight. Especially at this age. Come on Grams, get with the program. It's almost the twenty-first century!"
"Actually, you know, I think sisters just always act this way and they always have, and they always will. It's our special way of saying we love each other," Prue stated quite casually. Phoebe gave her a look of utmost doubt.
"It is? Well then, I must be the most loved sister in the world. Piper and me both." Phoebe and Piper looked at each other and started to crack up.
"Haha, laugh all you want now, but soon I will have my revenge, and you two will just wish even more that you hadn't messed with the all mighty Prue!" That just made the other two laugh even more. "It's no joke my sisters."
"Prue, stop being so darn cocky," Phoebe added. Prue just glared at her. Then smiled evilly.
"Just wait my young sister... just wait. You'll see soon enough what I have planned for you."
"Prue, you are so full of yourself! You know you'll never do any of that stuff," Piper remarked.
"What is this? Pick on Prue day? So not cool!"
"Yeah, let's make it official!" Piper laughed.
All of a sudden, their cat started hissing and they heard a tapping at the window. "Stay back girls," Grams warned.
"I didn't know demons tapped on windows," Piper stated.
"They don't you idiot," replied Prue.
They burst through the door or shimmer here," added Phoebe. "And they usually end up breaking something of Grams or something expensive." The two older sisters giggled at the seriousness of their younger sister.
"Will you three please be quiet." Grams hissed. "I may have to vanquish something," Grams continued to scold. All of a sudden, she screamed. The girls ran up to her, worried something may have hurt her.
"What's the matter Grams?" asked Piper, who was very frightened. Grams caught her breath.
"I'm so sorry, it was just an owl. I didn't mean to scare you girls like that. It just popped up and scared me."
"There are owls in San Francisco?" Piper asked incredulously. "Why is it just flying there?"
"It's not flying, you idiot," corrected Prue.
"Hey! I am not an idiot! And if he's not flying then what the hell is he doing?" Prue shrugged.
"Piper Halliwell, do not use that language in this house! This is not a pigsty; so don't start sounding like a pig. You should know better than that!"
"I'm sorry Grams! I'm sorry!" Grams scowled for a few seconds then walked over to the window and carefully opened it. The owl flew inside immediately. All of a sudden, Kit, the cat, jumped to try and catch the terrified owl. The girls and their grandmother began to scream. At first out of shock, then to keep Kit from trying to kill the poor defenseless animal. But the owl managed to stay near the ceiling. The girls managed to calm down Kit. Actually, Piper froze her, and the owl gently landed on Gram's shoulder. He held out his left leg, which possessed a letter tied to it. Grams ever so carefully took the letter off from its leg and the owl fluttered gracefully out of the window just as the cat unfroze. She looked around blankly and hissed and jumped out the window.
"Now that was certainly interesting," remarked Piper. Phoebe looked into Grams hand where the letter was still grasped.
"What is that funny looking paper?"
"It's called parchment, Phoebs. I'm not sure why the envelope is parchment, but I know that parchment was a form of paper a long time ago, and it was used all the time."
"Open it, Grams," Piper anxiously remarked. Prue glared at her.
"You know you should never open something if you don't know what it is or where it came from. In this case we know none of the above."
"You see, Prudence Halliwell, that is where you are wrong. We know that it is a letter. Too small to be anything like a bomb," remarked Piper.
"But we still don't know who it's from," Prue shot back. Piper stuck her tongue out at her. Phoebe giggled. Grams had her back to the girls. As she was examining the parchment. Prue in return to Piper's gesture, crossed her eyes, stuck out her tongue and waved her hands in the air. Phoebe burst out laughing. It wasn't too often that you saw her act like a little kid, and when she did, she never made strange faces like she just had. She always thought she was too chic and too cool to be like that.
"Girls, I can see you," Grams warned.
"Sheesh! You must have eyes in the back of your head!" said Piper.
"Don't all adults?" Grams inquired nonchalantly. The girls rolled their eyes. After seeing no tricks, Grams opened the parchment, which was sealed with green wax and a large, "H" was stamped on it.
"Looks like someone went old school," quipped Prue. Grams quizzically looked at the contents that the parchment possessed and read the following out loud:
"Dear Prue, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell,
You three have been invited to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Usually we do not ask people from your region because you're so far away, but you three are the exception. As you all know, you are very special, and we thought it would be best if we admit you all at the same time seeing as how you're stronger as three. Here at Hogwarts we hope to help exercise some powers that you girls may never know you had. We understand that you girls have a special 'guide' to help exercise your other powers. He will be permitted to come and visit you whenever necessary. We feel that this school will work to your advantage. We understand that you do not use owls especially since you live in the Muggle (non-magical people) world, so we have set up an address for you to send your letter to.
1475 Winding Street
London, England 17985
Please make the letter out to me, Albus Dumbledore. We anxiously await your reply. If you choose to attend Hogwarts, we'll arrange a time in August for you and three excellent students of mine to meet you at a place called The Leaky Cauldron. Don't worry about finding them, they'll find you. They'll find you. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Albus Dumbledore
Headmaster of Hogwarts
"Is this for real?" asked Prue.
"I guess so. Let's call Leo just to be sure," advised Piper.
"You only want to call him cause you have a crush on him and you think he's hot stuff," Prue playfully teased.
"I do not!" Piper blushed. "Okay, maybe a little." Prue crossed her arms and scowled. "Alright, a lot, I like him a lot. Well, I think that he's really cute anyway. But I still think that it's a good idea if we consult him. I mean, that is what a whitelighter is for, or as they call it, our 'guide'."
"Piper does have a point," Phoebe boastfully added. She knew Prue was right about Piper liking Leo, but they should consult him. All of a sudden, they started calling out his name. From midair appeared blue orbs, and a dashingly handsome dirty blonde, blue-green eyed guy.
"You yelled?" he joked. Piper giggled.
"Yes, Leo, go check with the elders to see if this letter is real or not."
"Already a step ahead of you, Grams. Or, at least the elders are. It's no joke." He smiled at Piper and winked. She felt her face get warm and she shied towards Grams. Leo knew all about her infatuation. He was their whitelighter after all, and he could see into their lives. He thought that if she was older, by about 14 years, he'd ask her out. Even though it was against the "rules" set by the elders. He was an angel, and thus never aged. And as a part of the whole whitelighter deal, he was able to see his past and parts of his future. He saw Piper in his future, his personal future, not just her being his charge. And ever since he saw the future, he couldn't stop thinking about it. As for his past lives, it always had them together. Except for the time he died and became a whitelighter. He married someone else, but then again, so did she. Some creep Dan something or other.
"Good, so we'll discuss this with you, Leo, and then we'll send them a letter stating our decision," Grams interrupted his train of thought. "So Leo, what do you think about all of this?"
"Well, uh...er...personally, I think it's a good idea. They can learn more magic and that'll help them to fight off demons. They'll be done with school by the time we need them.
"But what about regular school?" questioned Piper.
"Hmm, that is a problem," Grams thoughtfully remarked.
"Well, I can always tutor them," offered Leo.
"That's a wonderful idea! Girls, what do you think?"
"I'd love to go!" Phoebe immediately answered.
"I thought you'd say that. Prue...Piper? How about you two?"
"I'm up for it. Piper?"
"I don't know. How long will we be gone? I'll miss Grams sooo much!"
"Uh, well you'll be gone for seven years. But you come home between Christmas and summer," Leo replied. "But if you ever want to see Grams, I could orb her to you. And don't worry, I'll be just a call away."
"Alright. Better make it unanimous. I'll do," Piper replied cautiously.
"It's settled then. You will all go together. I'll write the letter and send it today. You girls will spend summer here then go off." Grams answered the letter and put it in the mailbox so they would get the answer as soon as possible. For three days Piper wouldn't talk to anyone because she was so upset.

Back in Hogwarts during the end of the year feast, Dumbledore made his sad speech for it was Harry's fourth year, but he added in a part to the speech that was not mentioned.
"And with everything that has happened, I have some news. Next year we expect three very special students. They're coming from the U.S., so expect them to be a little different in the way they do things. They have magic like us, but each one has a special power of their own. They are sisters and are known as the Charmed Ones. The eldest sister can move things with her mind, the middle child can freeze time, and the youngest has premonitions. They'll join us at the beginning of the year as first years. The two older sisters are too old, but they need to learn the basics and together they are strong. Anyway, on with the meal." Harry, Ron, and Hermione all looked at each other.
"Oy, Harry, Hermione, can you believe it? Witches with other powers! That's wicked!"
"And weird. Can you believe they're coming from America?" Harry wondered out loud.
"I think it'll be nice to see what they're like. We should try and make them feel comfortable. They'll know no one. I wonder why Dumbledore wanted them to come." They finished their dinner and started to head to the Gryffindor common room, when all of a sudden Professor McGonagall beckoned them over to her.
"Dumbledore would like to see you three in his office right now." It had been a long day and they wanted to sleep, but they couldn't just ignore Dumbledore. They hoped they hadn't done anything wrong. They trudged over to Professor Dumbledore's office.
"Good evening Mr. Potter, Ms. Granger and Mr. Weasley. I called the three of you here for a very important reason. I'm sure you three heard me mention at dinner about the Charmed Ones."
"Yes Sir," they replied in unison.
"Good. Well I was thinking about it, and I decided, who's better to show around these enchanting witches other than Harry, Hermione and Ron? Would you three mind?"
"I'm not sure about Ron and Harry, but I'd be delighted," Hermione replied.
"Of course we would, right Harry?" Ron turned to face him.
"It'll be wonderful! I don't mind in the least. But where shall we meet them?"
"Excellent. I was just going to mention that. I wrote them a letter telling them that if you accepted, you'd meet them at the airport..." Ron cut him off.
"What about the air? Air something? What's that?" Hermione glared at him.
"It's a form of transportation for the Muggles. And Professor Dumbledore was still talking."
"Sorry, Sir."
"It's quite alright. I understand your curiosity. It's quite normal. But as I was saying, or going to say, you will meet them at the Leaky Cauldron. They will be orbing here. Meaning they will have their whitelighter. Or their guide. But don't worry, he won't harm us. He'll be orbing in and out throughout the school year. But he's safe nonetheless."
"Right, so when do we meet them?" Harry inquired.
"Sometime in August. We haven't found a date yet, but I'll owl the three of you once we've agreed on the time."
"I think I speak for the three of us when I say I'm glad you chose us and we'll be sure to make them feel like their in the right place," Hermione confidently stated. She smiled warmly.
"I know, that's why I chose the three of you." They all sat there for a while until Dumbledore excused them.
"Can you believe he chose us to show them around?" Ron asked surprised. Ginny came up behind them and scared them.
"Oy, Ginny. What are doing?" Ron asked trying to catch his breath.
"Eavesdropping of course!" Ron glared at her, but she just smiled back. "Why wouldn't they choose the three of you? The boy who lived and his companions to go and meet three witches, it just fits!
"Well, they're different. It's my mum's love that saved me, and it's their special powers that save them. They're different and could prove to be dangerous." Harry stated, his voice getting angry.
"But they wont hurt us!" Ron protested.
"You never can tell. They could turn against us. They're what...three witches who could do some serious damage." Harry walked to the Gryffindor common room leaving the three behind him in shock. They had never seen Harry so angry! But the next day, he was as happy as ever, and his heated speech from the night before was forgotten.
