Dracoula

By Matt Coggins

I whirled around and looked the beast strait in the eyes. Dracoula grabbed Hermione and pushed her off the hippogriff. Without thinking, I jumped off my broom and into the air.

"COME HERE, MALFOY!" I yelled at the monster. The beast looked toward me, and I fired several arrows at it. A couple hit him right in the chest.

In spite of his pain, Dracoula held on to Hermione. It took me a while to realize I was still soaring to the ground at 90 miles an hour.

My life flashed before my eyes like always, starting with the green light, then Dudley beating me up, and then Hagrid picking me up. I saw the Sorcerer's Stone, basilisk, Dementors, Triwizard Cup, prophecy- everything.

I watched as Hermione cast Lesotho under Voldemort's feet.

It continued to Remus Lupin's murder. Lupin had stopped Voldemort from killing me, diving in front of the spell. That killed only the human, and the wolf ripped the arm off Voldemort. It then left, never to be seen again.

Then I saw me and Hermione's last date. We had rigged up a Muggle DVD player somehow, and we saw the X-Men movies. I remember a character named Wolverine, who had metal bones that extended through his knuckles. It gave me an idea.

"Maxillous Extendous!" I chanted, pointing my wand at my hand. Three bones protruded from my skin, and resembled silver claws. It hurt badly, but nonetheless, I sank my claws into Dracoula's arse right when I passed him, and I stopped falling.

The beast screamed in pain, and he dropped Hermione right next to a tree, which she grabbed. I followed. We watched Dracoula fly past Hagrid's hut.

I slid down the tree, Hermione following. We walked over to him, wands at the ready. As we rounded the corner, Malfoy was lying on the ground, in his pale, naked, human body.

Hagrid opened the window. "Wha' are you two doin' ou' here?" he asked. "An' wa's he doin'-... eww! Wha' are you doin', Harry?"

"No time to explain, Hagrid," I replied. "Help us take him to the castle! We need to see Professor Dumbledore!"

"Already here, Harry," said Dumbledore, coming to the window with a cup of tea. "Hagrid and I were discussing the state of the grounds. Bring Mr. Malfoy in here, please."

We dragged Malfoy into the hut. Dumbledore looked closely at the wounds on Malfoy's chest, some still with arrowheads in them.

"Harry," Dumbledore said. "You have disobeyed not only my orders, but Mr. Van Helsing's as well! I feel I should expel you right now!"

"Professor please!" Hermione cried, blood still seeping down her cheek. "Harry was trying to stop Malfoy from hurting anyone else! If we didn't fight Malfoy-..."

"You wouldn't have suffered such injuries!" Dumbledore yelled. "Detention- both of you! Now, back to the castle and off to-..."

At that instant, Malfoy gave a large shriek and stood up. He kneeled over in pain, and wind tore though his skin and spread out. When his face became visible, it changed into the one I had seen just ten minutes ago. He charged- or rather- flew at me, but I ducked and he crashed through the wall.

I walked out the door and faced the great monster.

"Come on then, Potter!" he yelled in a morbid version of Draco's voice. "You'll never catch me!"

I lost control of my mind, and I started running at Dracoula.

Just then, wolf howls were here on the edge of the forest, and I turned my head toward the noise. Remus Lupin stood there, in his werewolf form, and snarled at me.

The dog then charged at me, faster than any beast I had ever seen run on land. He pushed me down and sank his teeth into my arm.
