Chapter 4

Draco opened the door to find Harry standing in front of the window again with a pained expression on his face. "Where was it?" Harry said in a hushed whisper without looking away from the window.

"Where was what?" Draco said as he walked over to Harry.

"Your wand," Harry said. He turned to look at Draco and small smile crept onto his lips.

"Oh, it was just were you said it was." Draco moved closer to Harry and snaked his arms around the thinner boy's waist.

"See I told you," Harry said with a mocking expression.

"Yes... you did," was all Draco said before he pulled Harry into a sweet kiss.

As they pulled away Harry licked his lips and gave the blond a suspicious look. "What was that for?"

"What, I can't kiss my husband?" Draco said in an innocent voice.

"Yes you can, but that wasn't just any kiss that... was a comfort kiss. Tell me Mr. Malfoy, why do I need to be comforted?" Harry said as he put his arms around Draco's neck.

"That was not a comfort kiss."

"Yes it was!" Harry teased.

"No really, it was... a... a... you know Harry, your looking quite adorable tonight," Draco said as he raised an eyebrow, trying and desperately failing to cover up his motive for the kiss.

"Don't change the subject Draco; I know your kisses and that..." Harry paused for effect,

"was defiantly a comfort kiss."

"Oh really, 'Mr. I'm the smartest wizard in the world', what kind of kiss is this, then?"

Draco pulled Harry into a lustful kiss, massaging Harry's lips with his own. After a few seconds Draco licked Harry's bottom lip as if he were asking for access to his lover's hot mouth; Harry happily complied and opened his mouth to allow Draco's wet tongue to enter. Harry sighed into Draco's mouth and brought his hand up to tangle in the blond's silky tresses, deepening the kiss. Draco lowered his hands until they were resting on the small of the raven-haired Gryffindor's back, pulling the slim body closer to his.

After what seemed like forever Harry pulled away to breathe. "That-" Harry said panting heavily, "was definitely an I want to shag you rotten kiss," Harry finished and gave Draco a seductive smile.

"You're good," Draco said as he proceeded to lick his way up Harry's jaw line and sucked on his earlobe. Harry made a low raspy noise that told Draco he was doing the right thing. Draco smiled and continued to kiss down the dark-haired boy's neck. Pushing aside the fabric of Harry's shirt, the blond sucked on the soft patch of skin at the nape of his lover's shoulder.

Draco guided them to the bed and eased Harry onto it. Harry unbuttoned Draco's shirt and pushed it off his broad shoulders as Draco placed soft kissed along his collarbone. He stopped the blond long enough to discard his own tee shirt before flipping Draco onto his back and so that Harry was now on top, and pulled the blond into a hungry kiss. Harry kissed and licked his way down the Slytherin's sleek, bare chest as he unzipped Draco's jeans, pushing them off his hips. Harry traced the well-defined muscles on Draco's taut abdomen with his tongue and slowly licked his way down to the edge of the blond's black silk boxers. Draco let out soft moans and bucked his hips slightly as Harry placed soft, wet kisses along the strip of skin just above the boxers that were sitting dangerously low on the blond's hips. Just as Harry started to pull the boxers down there was a firm knock at the door; Harry stopped and looked at the door before pulling himself off of Draco to look around the room for his shirt. The blond sighed angrily in disappointment and frustration as he pulled his jeans back on without bothering to zipper them up, and got up the see who was knocking on the door.

Draco slightly opened the door to get a peak at the late night visitor. As soon as he saw whom it was his face turned from frown to scowl. "What do you want, Weasley?" He whispered, trying not to let Harry know who was at the door.

"Umm..." Ron looked down at the floor and shifted his weight from foot to foot. "Er... I was wondering if... if you know where Harry is," Ron said, finally looking up to meet Draco's eyes. "I really need to talk to him." Draco et out a long, annoyed sigh before opening the door wider to reveal Harry sitting on the bed still searching for his shirt.

"Ron," Harry said in a low, flattened voice looking up to see his friend.

"Harry I..." Ron trailed off looking down at his feet again.

"Well... it seems you two have some matters to discuss, so I'll just be going," Draco said to Ron and Harry as he zipped up his jeans and picked up Harry's grey tee shirt off the floor and put it on. He laughed inwardly when he realized how short the shirt was on him, since Harry used to be so much taller than he was. "Hmm... I guess I grew a little more than I thought," He said to himself as he lked out the door making sure to shut it quietly before heading to the kitchen for some tea.

After a long uncomfortable silence, "Ron, what you did..." Harry trailed off shaking his head in disapproval, either unable or unwilling to finish his sentence.

"Harry, listen... I-I'm sorry," Ron said as he sat down next to Harry on the bed. "I know that I acted like a right prat but, I... I don't want to loose you as a friend just because I don't like Malfoy." Ron made a face at the mention of Malfoy's name. He looked as if he had just gotten a whiff of something a Hippogriff lift behind after an unbearable stomachache.

"But it's so much more than that, I thot that as my friend you'd be happy for me! Friends support each other! You're supposed to be my friend Ron!" Harry had realized that he had practically screamed the word 'friend'.

"I'm really sorry Harry... I really am. Please..." Ron said in a very small, pleading voice.

Harry stayed silent. After what felt like hours but in actuality was a second or two, Ron got up. "I understand," he said in hurt voice and started to leave.

"Where are you going?" Ron turned around to see Harry standing up as well.

"I just figured you're still too mad to accept my apology. I understand Harry... I understand that it's going to take a lot more than sorry for you to forgive me but I'm re-"

Harry cut him off, "You really hurt me Ron." At Harry's words Ron looked at the floor to hide his face that was turning red with shame. "I knew you were going to react badly but I figured you would support me anyway, because isn't that was friends do? Stick by each other." Harry's voice was calm but not reassuring.

"I am going to stick by you Harry. I'll try to be at least civil to Malfoy, I promise." Harry looked into Ron's pleading eyes and noticed that Ron was sincerely sorry.

"Right then... I forgi-" but before Harry could finish Ron pulled him into a rough hug. Harry smiled inwardly; he was glad to have his best friend back.

"I'm really sorry Harry... I didn't mean to react the way I did but... I-I just don't understand," Ron said sitting down on the bed again.

"What don't you understand?" Harry said more harshly than he meant to.

"I just don't urstand how you and...Malfoy-"

"Draco," Harry corrected.

"Right, you and Draco are all of a sudden married. I mean last I knew you two where yelling hexes at the top of your lungs hoping to accidentally send each other to the hospital wing and now, now you two are...well you're married, it just doesn't make sense."

Harry sighed and sat down next to his newly reinstated best friend. "Well Ron, I guess I'm a better actor than you thought I was," Harry said as he gave Ron a mischievous smile.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Ron said in a somewhat confused and aggravated tone.

"Do you remember in second year when we turned ourselves into Crabbe and Goyle and interrogated Draco trying to find out if he knew who the heir of Slytherin was, and he told us that he asked his father about it?" Ron nodded. "Well later that night I took the invisibility cloak and went back down to the dungeons. I figured I could sneak into Draco's room and find the letters he wrote to his father about all the incidents, I was sure he wasn't telling us everything. Once I got there I found his dormitory and searched through his trunk. He wasn't even in there," Harry shook his head, "I didn't even think anything of it at the time; I just thought I was lucky. I looked for about ten minutes and couldn't find a thing, so I gave up. All I remember is it being really dark, and bumping into someone before falling and hitting my head, and then everything went black. When I woke up there was someone hovering over me, tapping my cheeks and calling my name in a really worried kind of way. When I realized who it was I thought he was going to hex me and throw me out into some deserted hallway to die, but he didn't. He helped me up and walked me back to Gryffindor tower." Ron looked at Harry with disblieving eyes; how could Malfoy do something that nice, and for someone other than himself no less?

"When we were finally standing in front of the portrait hole I asked him why he brought me back and what he wanted so he would keep his mouth shut about me being in the Slytherin common room, and do you know what he said?" Ron shook his head, "He said that all he wanted was to know that I was going to be alright." Harry let out a shuttering sigh, "After that I realized that he wasn't as bad as I had thought, and we started to get close. I went to him when I couldn't deal with myself or anyone else and he would comfort me; he sat and listened to everything I said. Just letting me get everything out, never making comments or judging... just listening. And then once I had let out all the pain and frustration he would... he would just hold me and tell me everything was going to be all right. And I knew that everything was going to be alright again, because he said it would." Harry decided that now was a good time to stop because every word was becoming harder and harder for him to say. He took a deep breath to calm himself before looking at Ron.

Among Ron's sea of emotion Harry could clearly see the understanding and revulsion in Ron's eyes, and it looked like the two were battling for dominance. "It was weird at first because I felt safe to tell him things that I would never tell anyone, but afterwards I felt guilty... guilty because I was telling my secrets to the last person I should have been." Harry felt the need to explain it to Ron, to make him understand. But he couldn't find the words, so they just sat... in silence, not a weird or uncomfortable silence just... silence.
