Chapter 15

Harry and Cory slunk into their sister's room at the stroke of midnight. She had just turned eleven, which meant that she could join them in their next year at Hogwarts.

Ace was sleeping peacefully, her bushy blonde hair framing her face. To her brothers, she looked like an angel. She had inherited the Malfoy beauty from their father - the flawless complexion and the perfectly chiselled face. She had also retained her mother's rosy cheeks, which enhanced her pale beauty dramatically. Her mouth was an exact replica of Draco's and smirked in the same way.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" yelled the twins. Ace woke up with a start and stared uncomprehendingly at her brothers with her warm chocolate eyes - their mother's eyes. After a few disoriented seconds, she managed to reply, "Thank you."

The twins placed a little box on her bed.

"What's that?" Ace asked curiously.

"Your gift, you moron. Are you still sleeping?" Cory replied. Ace shook herself and opened the gift. Within it lay a gold pendant in the shape of an elaborate 'A' on a thin chain. Ace's eyes widened in wonder.

"Wow," was all she could say.

"Like it, sis?" Harry asked, though her face had told him that she loved it. She nodded eagerly.

"It looks expensive," she said.

"You're worth it," said Cory, "and what do we Malfoys care about price anyway? Our sister deserves the best and the best she will have!"

"Thank you."

"Wear it. We want to see how it looks on your neck," said Harry. Ace was only too happy to comply. The pendant shone on her front.

"Wonderful!" Harry exclaimed. Cory nodded appreciatively.

"Lovely," he said. Ace blushed. She knew that she was pretty, but whenever her brothers complimented her, she flushed with pleasure.

"You'll have to be very careful at Hogwarts, dear sister," said Harry.

"Why?" she asked innocently.

Harry put his hand on his forehead in a mocking gesture.

"Woe be mine! 'Why' she asks! Why indeed!" he announced dramatically.

Ace giggled.

"Cut it out, Greenie," she shot back.

"Don't call me that!"

"Why shouldn't she, Greenie?" Cory chuckled.

"Don't tease my brother, Bluey," commanded Ace.

"I'm not 'Bluey'!"

"Are too."

"Am not."

"Are too."

"Am not."

"Are too."

"Cut it out, you two," said Harry, laughing.

"Right. Mustn't argue with argue with Brownie on her birthday," declared Cory.

"I'm not Brownie!"

"Are too."

"Am not."

"Are too."

"Am not."

"Are too."

"Am not!"

"STOP BICKERING THIS INSTANT, ATHENA CELESTIA MALFOY AND CRINON ALEXANDER MALFOY!" screamed Harry. Ace and Cory immediately put their hands on his mouth.

"Are you trying to kill us? You'll wake Mum and Dad!" Cory whispered urgently. Harry nodded to show that he'd understood. Cory and Ace let go of his mouth. He sighed heavily.

"What do you think you were doing?" asked Cory, nettled.

"Trying to get you two to shut up."

"You could have done it quietly."

"It worked, didn't it?"

"Shut it!" cried Ace.

"Sure, sis," said Harry and put an arm around her, "as I was saying before the interruption, you'll need to be very careful at Hogwarts."

"Why?"

"Because, sister mine, you're rather pretty, even if we do say so ourselves," said Cory and winked.

Ace blushed furiously.

"You two are pretty good yourselves," she said.

"Too true," said Cory. Harry sighed.

"That's why we warn you, dear sister. We speak from experience," he said.

"All right, then," said Ace, "you two can teach me to flirt."

Harry and Cory went pale.

"Who are you and what have you done with our sister?" asked Cory. Ace giggled. Her brothers smiled. Half a minute later, the three of them were rolling on the carpet, laughing their heads off.

"She'll do," said Harry, when they finally stopped laughing.

"Perfectly," agreed Cory.

"Get back to sleep, you two. I want to get up early to look at my gifts."
