I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
I'm just out to find
The better part of me

Harry stared out over the grounds of Hogwarts, drinking in the sight of everything that was his. The Gryffindor flag fluttered next to him, snapping in the wind that wrapped around the castle, searching for a way into the welcoming home. Harry sat down on the ledge, humming softly, eyes closed as he let the wind whisper to him.

I'm more than a bird...I'm more than a plane
More than some pretty face beside a train
It's not easy to be me

Two Months ago...

Harry swallowed as he closed Ron's lids over lifeless eyes, standing and staring into the cold red eyes of Lord Voldemort, some distance away but still close enough to kill everyone Harry loved.

Harry gripped his wand in a shaking hand, raising it up. Laughter sounded to his left and he spun around, staring at Draco Malfoy stabbed Neville with a sword. The young blond had done away with magic some time ago and now just ran around stabbing Gryffindors at random. He seemed to get a sick thrill from the whole thing.

Harry watched as Neville fell and looked around him, looked at the death and terror that Voldemort had brought to his doorstep. The survivors watched him, looking to their hero in the time of need, waiting, hoping...for what Harry didn't know. Harry stood there and watched the look on ever face before turning fully around and walking back to the castle. He passed by Seamus, ignoring the Irish man's cries for help, wiping dears from his face as he ran towards Hogwarts castle blood rushing to his ears.

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home I'll never see

Harry screamed, a loud, ragged sound as he stumbled into Gryffindor Tower and fell to his knees in front of his trunk, gasping for air through his sobs as he started throwing things around, tearing apart his trunk in order to find what he searched for. Seizing the two items he threw open the tower window, climbing up on the sill. He took flight, draping the invisibility cloak over him, flying high above the scene below him, stubbornly not looking down as screams of pain and anger ran in his ears.

A day and a few minutes later Harry reached his destination, the small home he had grown up in, long since emptied of the bodies that used to be the Dursleys. He climbed through a broken window, not feeling the pain as the glass tore into his body, leaving a bloody trail behind as he curled up inside his cupboard, shutting the door tightly behind him, closing his eyes and wishing the years away.

It may sound absurd...but don't be naive
Even Heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed...but won't you concede
Even Heroes have the right to dream

It's not easy to be me

Draco watched as Harry chickened out and laughed again, blood spilling down his face, his sword slick with it as he watched The Boy Who Lived become The Boy Who Ran Away With His Tail Between His Legs.

Up, up and away...away from me
It's all right...You can all sleep sound tonight
I'm not crazy...or anything...

Present...

Harry stood shakily, gripping the wall, feeling stone digging into his skin as he continued to stair, unseeing down at the green lawns of Hogwarts below. He turned and watched as a line of blood trickled it's way down his hand and then his arm, Red...Gryffindor blood, a symbol of bravery and sacrifice.

I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
Men weren't meant to ride
With clouds between their knees

He smiled softly, watching as the fog rolled in from the lake, taking with it the sight of the ground below. Here, in this moment he was the only one in the world, watching the clouds below him. Harry moved closer to the edge, staring at the clouds. He closed his eyes, made a wish, and felt himself falling, falling into the embrace of his father and mother, the embrace of the clouds and sky.

I'm only a man in a silly red sheet
Digging for kryptonite on this one way street
Only a man in a funny red sheet

Looking for special things inside of me

It's not easy to be me.
