The Colour of My Love
Dean sighed as he leaned back against his
headboard, staring down at the drawing in front of him. The emerald eyes on the
page stared back up at him, something, missing from the image, something so
small it was hard to define, but Dean knew it was gone. He sighed again and
pushed the sketchbook away, staring at the scarlet cloth ceiling above him as he
tried to come to terms with what was gone from the drawing.
Harry tiptoed
closer to Dean’s bed, watching as his lover contemplated the top of his bed. A
smile caressed Harry’s lips as he watched him, drinking in the beauty of the
other boy. He moved closer and cleared his throat, making sure not to startle
his lover as he sat down on the bed, leaning over to give him a gentle kiss.
“What are you thinking about so intently?”
Dean smiled, laying his head
against Harry’s chest as he ran his hand over his lover’s thigh. “Just, thinking
about you’re eyes.”
“Oh, I never knew they were so
interesting.”
“They are to me.” He said, watching his fingers before
rolling onto his stomach, looking up into Harry’s face. He sat up and reached
out, pulling off Harry’s glasses before leaning in close, his breath ghosting
over Harry’s lips before capturing them in a gentle kiss, his eyes falling
shut.
Harry sighed softly into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Dean’s
back, savoring the taste of the older boy. They stayed this way for a long
moment before pulling away, staring into each other’s eyes, a soft smile gracing
Harry’s lips as he studied every inch of Dean’s face before him.
Dean’s
eyes stared into Harry’s eyes, grinning as he found what was lost in his
drawing. He leaned close and kissed Harry’s nose gently, smiling at him.
“Thank-you.”
“For what?”
“Being in love.” He whispered before
leaning back, picking up his sketchbook. His hand flew across the page as he
stared at Harry, capturing every nuance of the boy who lived.
Harry
smiled, watching him. He enjoyed watching his boyfriend sketch, draw,
paint...Ooo, paint, body paints…he loved it when Dean covered him in body paint,
or chocolate, or honey….
“Harry...Harry!”
Harry jerked his head
up, blushing. “Yeah?”
“You drifted off somewhere there…I wanted to know
if you wanted to go down to dinner with me but if you’d rather sit here and
daydream,”
“No…let’s go.” Harry said smiling and stealing a quick kiss
before slipping off the bed. Dean stood as well and took Harry’s hand as they
headed off to dinner.
The last rays of sun shone down on the emerald eyes
of Dean’s drawing, love shining through them.
I'll paint a
sun to warm your heart
Swearing that we'll never part
That's the
colour of my love
