Roxanne Wood was standing in the street of Hogsmeade, talking to her friends Ron, Ginny, Luna and Hermione. And Harry, the one persons she loved more than anything. She acted as nothing was wrong, but as her mother Apparated next to her, her friends knew that her dark problem was about to become worse. Seeing Roxanne’s mother, Draco Malfoy strode over.
“What do you want, you great prick?” Roxanne demanded sharply.
“Only to speak with my lovely fiancee,” Draco replied smoothly.
“You are a prat, Malfoy, and an awful liar. Get away from me,” Roxanne warned, her voice dangerous. Draco sneered before walking away.
“Roxanne!” Her mother exclaimed.
“What?” Roxanne shouted.
“Draco is very powerful, and he will be great. You shall live richly. You will treat him with respect,” her mother replied.
“I do not mind living richly, mother, but I do mind if it is at the side of a liar. I will not marry Malfoy. I refuse!”
“You will, or you will be disowned,” her mother hissed.
“Fine! Consider me disowned, Diane! I will live with Oliver and Aunt Bailey, knowing and cherishing the fact that she is the sister you hate.” And with that, Roxanne Wood turned her back and walked away from the woman she has called her mother for so long, her friends close behind. Passing Malfoy, she removed the ring from her finger and threw it hard at the back of his head. As it struck him, Malfoy caught it, looking shocked. He merely glared at Roxanne.
“Come on, let’s get back to the castle,” Harry suggested. Roxanne nodded in agreement.

Once back in her dormitory in Gryffindor tower, Roxanne found a quill and parchment to write a letter to her cousin, Oliver, explaining what had happened. It would be awkward asking to live with them, but she had a feeling that her aunt and cousin wouldn’t mind in the least bit. Still, you couldn’t be too careful. After thinking for a moment, she began her letter to Oliver.
Oliver-
How are you? I am fine, and I have accomplished and amazing feat. I have gotten myself disowned by Diane Wood for refusing to marry one Draco Malfoy. Diane’s idea of a perfect marriage is, apparently, marrying into power and wealth, and living richly. Filthy hypocrite. After all, when she married Daddy, they were both poor as mice. She only became wealthy because she spent all her time at the Ministry working, neglecting me. Even after Daddy died.
Anyway, now I really have nowhere to go, school ending in only a week. Dearest cousin, I need to ask you this before I decide not to bother you any further. Could I - do you think - live with you? I do need a place to stay. After all, I could hardly be called a burden. I take up very little room. If you don’t want me to, I understand. You are probably very busy with Quidditch or something of the sort. (I was Quidditch captain this year, and still Keeper, by the way. Following in your footsteps, so says Harry.)
Your patiently waiting cousin,
Roxanne Wood
