Hugozeladrophia Carmella Feianzio Grandeur was a very strange girl. You could just tell from her name. She was six feet two and wore glasses since she was near sighted. Her blonde-brown hair flowed down her back, ending at her waist. She had curves in the best places. She had hazel eyes that always changed color. One day, they might be pale blue, the next day brown. The thing that was most strange about her, though, was that she had a scar, two really, in the shape of an x on her left cheek.
She led a normal life at 508 Nanazie Drive. She was twelve tomorrow, next month. It was always boring, and she never had anything to do. Usually she just sat down, playing with her puppy or watching TV. Sometimes she even wrote stories. THEY were the only interesting things in her life.
It was in the middle of the summer when the most interesting thing in her life happened. A big barn owl came out of nowhere and dropped a letter on her head.
"OWW!!!!!" she yelled, for the letter was heavy.
When she looked at the front it said:
Miss Hugozeladrophia Carmella Feianzio Grandeur
Third Room to the Right
508 Nanazie Drive
Little Island
Surrey
"How in the bloody hell did they know where I live? And just who are 'they' anyway?"
Zela, as she was called, then looked at the back, and it had a very strange crest on it.
Since she was curious, Zela opened it up and looked at the parchment in front of her. It said this:
HOGWARTS SCHOOL
of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore
(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc, Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)
Dear Miss Grandeur,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on September 1. We await your owl no later than July 31.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Minerva McGonagall,
Deputy Headmistress
Zela found a piece of notebook paper and wrote on it:
Yes, I, Hugozeladrophia Carmella Feianzio Grandeur, will be able to go to Hogwarts this year.
After she was done with that, Zela went downstairs with the strange letter she got.
"Mum? Dad?" she called out.
"Yes, honey?" her mother's voice answered.
"I've got a very strange letter here. Can you come see it?"
"Of course, dear." Her mum said while walking over to her. "What is it?"
"It says that I was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Do you know what this is for?"
Her mother gasped," Richard!!!! Come here!"
"What? What is it?" Zela's father asked.
"She got in! You know, the school my brother went to. She's a witch! My little baby's a witch! I'm so happy!"
"Really, Zela? Congradulations! We'll go to Diagon Alley tomorrow," her father started talking excitedly.
"Er, dad? What's Diagon Alley?" Zela asked.
"Diagon Alley is where you get your supplies for school."
"Ok. I'll send the reply, then." She turned and went up to her room.
As soon as she got there, Zela sent the owl with her letter in its beak. She couldn't believe that something abnormal was happening. Zela ended up falling asleep after an hour of thinking about what she would do at Hogwarts.
*NEXT MORNING*
"Aaahhh!" Zela yawned as she awoke. It was the day she was going to get her stuff from Diagon Alley.
She got dressed and hurried down the steps, while brushing her hair.
"Morning Mum, Dad. When do we leave for Diagon Alley?" Zela asked quickly.
Her father chuckled," Not for another 30 minutes, Zela. Oh, and go get your grandmother's old cape. That way you'll blend in better at the Alley."
"OK, Dad," was all she said before rushing up to the hallway closet. When she opened it, Zela immediately saw her grandmother's cape. It was a velvet green material with black tassels to connect it at the top. She always thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. She wore her green velvet outfit to match it.
*IN THE CAR*
"Dad, are we there yet?" Zela said for the thousandth time.
"Almost, Zela, almost. We just need to get to the Leaky Cauldron first. Aaahhh! There it is!" Zela's father parked as close as he could to the Leaky Cauldron.
Other people were just walking straight by it without looking at it. Their eyes wandered from one side of it to the other.
As Zela entered, she noticed the bartender. He was very friendly looking.
"Hello, hello," he said with a toothy grin, "What can I get you folks? My name's Tom."
"Nothing. Thank you, though, Tom. My name is Hugozeladrophia Carmella Feianzio Grandeur, Zela for short." She stated.
"That's a pretty long name you have, Miss Zela. I'll see you around, then. Goodbye!" said Tom.
"Bye!"
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Zela had a marvelous time shopping. First, they went to the bank called Gringotts to exchange their muggle money for wizard money. Then they went to Madame Malkin's Robes for All. It was so interesting. There were all sorts of robes there! She bought the required three black robes, but then decided to buy an extra pair of robes for when she had free time.
The ones she picked out were completely silver with twenty-four carrot gold clasps.
After that, Zela went around and got everything she needed from books to potions ingredients. The only thing she had left to get was her wand.
As she went into Ollivander's, Zela noticed a strange presence.
"Aah, Miss Grandeur. I've been expecting you. Come, come. Which is your wand arm?" Mr. Ollivander asked.
"Er...guess it's my right arm."
"Alright, alright. Hold it out now," he said, and the tape measurer started taking measurements for...something.
Ollivander came back with a long box.
"Here we go. Cherry tree, fourteen and a quarter inches, with the tail feather of a phoenix. Nice and springy. Go on, try it."
As soon as Zela picked the wand up, Mr. Ollivander snatched it right back up.
"No, no! Looks like you're going to be a difficult customer. Oh, well. Try this one now," he said as he handed Zela another wand.
After about one hundred tries, Mr. Ollivander gave her yet another wand.
"Try this one. It is very special. The wood is of the very last Whomping Pine. Eight and one half inches long, with the hair of a baby Opyleye dragon. It took me five years to make this wand, two years each to find the items, and then a year to just make it. Give it a wave," he said and gave it to her.
As soon as she picked it up, there was a great humming noise, and Zela fell into a trance.
There were screams off to the distance.
"Help, help! Save my baby!" the screaming woman turned away from her burning house to find a young witch, Zela, dressed in a gown the woman had only seen on Her Excellency. It was a golden yellow that glowed.
"Oh, please, PLEASE! Save my baby! She's only a year old! PLEASE YOUR EXELLENCY!"
Zela stumbled on this. "What do you mean, 'Excellency'?"
"You are our ruler, Her Excellency Hugozeladrophia, aren't you?" the woman asked.
"Miss Grandeur? Miss Grandeur, are you alright?" Ollivander asked.
"Wh-what? Y-yes, I think I am," Zela said, unsure and slightly confused by what had just occurred.
"Here is your wand, then. Make sure you polish it every other week. It'll be two galleons," he said.
"Here you go," she said handing him the gold coins, "Thank you very much, Mr. Ollivander."
"You're welcome, Miss Grandeur. Goodbye!"
"Bye," Zela said as she left.
When she went out, Zela remembered where her parents said to meet them.
"OOOOOWWWWW!!!!!" Zela screamed as she ran into someone-literally.
Before she could fall to the ground, the guy caught her, lost his balance, and they both fell, Zela on top of him.
"Can you get off of me?" his kind voice asked.
"OH! Sorry. Are you ok?" Zela asked.
"Yea. Are you?" 'He sounds concerned Zela. Go for it!'
"Yes. I'm Hugozeladrophia Carmella Feianzio Grandeur, Zela for short. What's your name?" she asked.
"Harry. Harry Potter."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Nice to meet you, Harry. Can you help me with all of this stuff? I just finished shopping for Hogwarts. I have to take this to...The Apothecary. Would you happen to know where it is? I have to meet my parents there," Zela said.
"Yea! I'll take you to it," Harry suggested, "You want to be my friend? I've never had one before."(A/N yea, I know. He sounds stupid. sry!)
"You haven't? That's awful! Of course I'll be your friend," Zela said calmly.
They ran all the way to the Apothecary. When they got there, Zela immediately ran over to her parents, Harry in tow.
"Hey Mum, Dad. This is Harry Potter. I just met him. Well, ran into him. I literally ran into him."
Her mother gasped. "Harry Potter? The Harry Potter?! Gods. My brother told me all about you. I am so sorry. I didn't mean to bother you."
Just then, Zela noticed that her mother was hiding something behind her back.
"Mum? What do you have there? Is it for me?" Zela asked.
"Yes, you silly girl. Of course it's for you. Or rather, she is for you," her mum said while pulling a cage out from behind her back. Inside was a gold feathered owl.
"Mum! She's beautiful! What's her name?" Zela asked.
"Her name is Sylvinissa. My brother said that you use owls to send mail. Very intriguing. There are only a few weeks until school starts, so we got you a room in the Leaky Cauldron. On September first, a car will come and pick you up. It'll take you to King's Cross. At King's Cross, you will go to Platform 9 ¾. The way to get through is to run straight at the barrier, and you will just simply run through it. Be on the train by eleven o' clock, ok honey?"
"Yes mum. Harry? Harry?" Zela looked around but there was no sign of Harry. "He must have left while we were talking. Oh, well. I'll see him at Hogwarts, I think."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
When Zela unpacked her stuff, she found that Harry must have given her money, because there was five times as much galleons than before in her purse.
The first thing Zela did, since she was on the archery team at home, was search for an archery store. Oddly enough, she found one. It was called Arrows and Bows. Zela chose a long bow and a quiver full of all sorts of arrows. That spent almost a fourth of her money.
Then, she got bored, so went around looking for other things to do.
That is when she met him. He was so gorgeous with his golden blonde hair. Pale skin smooth, steel gray eyes stared at her as she fell into them.
"Hello. My name is Draco Malfoy. What's your name?" he asked. His voice was also gorgeous!
"Hi. Let me warn you that my name is a mouthful, alright?" Draco nodded. "Here it is. Hugozeladrophia Carmella Feianzio Grandeur, but it is just Zela for short."
He gaped, "Well, I am sure glad that I won't have to remember your full name. What school are you going to?"
"Hogwarts, and from what I have heard, it is very interesting," Zela said.
"Good, I will see you at school, then. What house do you think you'll be in? I hope I will be in Slytherin. Shame if I was in Hufflepuff. Hell, the worst would be Gryffindor."
Zela wondered what in the world he was talking about.
Oh, well, Zela! Who cares? He is SO cute!
"Er, I don't know. I guess Slytherin." She stated.
"Well, do you want to go to Quality Quidditch Supplies right now?" Draco asked, "I think the new model, Nimbus 2000, is out."
"Sure, of course I will go! Just let me get my bow and arrows to my room," she said as she ran off.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
After Zela came back, she and Draco went to Quality Quidditch Supplies. Zela fell in love with the game right away.
"Hey, Draco? How much do these brooms cost?" Zela asked.
"55 galleons (A/N just guessing^_^), but first years are not allowed to have them. You are allowed to get one in second year. I think that it is completely stupid," Draco stated.
"Who cares who cares that we aren't allowed?" Zela asked, "I have enough money for two brooms for the each of us. Don't you want one? Or is Draco Malfoy going to wait until next year to get a broom?" asked Zela.
"Er...I guess that we could. But only one for me. By the way, Where did you get all that money?" Draco asked.
"Oh, my friend, Harry Potter, somehow gave it to me."
