Authors' Note: Explanation chapter! Yay! And watch for the potty mouths. I mean, hello...Draco and Faith meet. Potty mouths abound, here.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Wood. He knew why they were using wooden furniture. So if needed they could come in here, blow the thing up and make a couple of splinters go straight through his heart. It wasn't proven he could die like that, but he wasn't about to find out.

They said they found a person who was going to 'help' him. Well, he didn't need help. He knew what had happened to him. He was there. Damn Voldemort. Damn his father. Damn everyone actually. They had gotten him into this in the first place. Well, not THIS, but this in general. They had changed, made him into this...hybrid. This hated...thing.

No one likes change. Especially if the change isn't completed. Dark to darker with a burst of light added in. Oh, how it had hurt. He supposed it was whatever that vampire had started to kill, that Chosen One that had made it painful, because he was assured repeatedly that it would be painless. He even did research himself to make sure it would have been.

He hated what he had become. Sure, there were perks. But overall it was terrible. The visions, the dreams...he knew they were true. He knew these were real people. He could feel it. It was like this play he was forced to watch. He knew things that could have helped, but he wasn't there to help.

Like when the blonde woman had done that bloody swan dive off the tower to save her sister that wasn't really her sister. He had known that all along.

Like when they had trouble defeating the creature and had to use that spell. There were other ways, quicker ways, to go about destroying demons like that.

Like when the Mayor had turned into the snake and the other Slayer had gone bad. He had known all along she would have, and yet he couldn't yell it to them. Couldn't scream it to them. It was so frustrating.

"Has he died yet?" an annoyingly familiar voice caught his attention, snapping him out of his reverie.

Draco wanted to smirk. So they were back. Took them long enough. And by the sound of it, the Weasel was quite disappointed he hadn't copped it in the time they were gone.

He grinned the whole time he was being scolded. Take that, you git.

When he heard the door being opened he snapped his head down. Blonde and black were the only things seen on him. So depressing. His mother had taken to having downright fits about his wardrobe these days.

For a few moments, there was nothing but silence, then the sound of heavy boots across the concrete floor. Draco wanted to wince. If there was going to be a fight, it was going to be bad. Concrete and wood. Two of his least favorite things.

When the chair across from him was pulled away and a body occupied it, he was sorely tempted to glance up and see who was brought in. He was always curious and now was no different.

There was nothing said until...

"What the fuck are you?"

His head snapped up. Holy shit...

"Faith?"

She blinked rapidly and her jaw dropped. She laid her hands flat on the wooden surface and glared at him.

"How the hell do you know me? Holy sh...oh my God."

He so desperately wanted to snicker. Never before had he seen her so flustered, and he had seen this dark haired woman in front of him quite a few times.

"Quite fascinating, isn't it?" He cocked his head to the side and studied her a bit. Seems he wasn't the only one fascinated with the dark colors.

When she first set her chocolate colored eyes upon the blonde sitting so nonchalantly, Faith was intrigued. His posture screamed with confidence and sexiness, and he knew it too. But then her Slayer senses kicked in, and she went on the defensive when she felt the danger coming from him. After she observed him, the next thought in her head was vampire. Instincts ordered her to get a stake and ram it deep into his dead heart.

A second later, another thought was processed through her chaotic mind.

Slayer.

She had experienced this feeling before, the feeling of kinship between kindred souls. The only person ever to ignite such an emotion was Buffy, her sister slayer. But the person in front of her was obviously a slayer or at least part of one, but that couldn't be possible. Only women were chosen to be Slayers. Why would he be one?

Not only that, but Faith had to also remember that there was vampire in him too. What an odd combination. He was a vampire and a slayer while she was a vampire slayer.

Dumbledore had stepped up behind Faith and laid a hand on her shoulder. She promptly jumped and started looking around for the holder of the hand. Draco was enthralled. She was amazing in real life. Captivating, even. No vision could ever give her justice.

"Sorry, just a bit shocked here," Faith explained dryly.

Hermione walked forward briskly towards the table, Ron and Harry following closely behind her.

Subtleness wasn't one of her traits when it came to knowledge, it seemed. She firmly planted her hands on her hips, staring at Faith expectantly. "You know what he is, then?"

Faith turned to her and laughed a bit crazed-like. Well, maybe she really was a few burritos short of a combo. "Of course I know what he is. I just can't understand why you don't."

"Well, that's what you were brought here for. He won't tell us all of it, and the rest he claims he can only tell through visions. What he does tell is pure myth though. Vampire slayers and all this rot. Vampire I'll believe, even though he doesn't show the effects of one," Hermione stated grimly.

"And he is sitting right here, thank you oh-so-much." Draco snapped.

Faith sent her another look and turned slowly back to the smirking Draco. She was sure he was getting a real kick out of this.

"Slayer? Vampire?" Faith asked and Draco just nodded. "And obviously mojo happy too since you all are." He nodded again. "And no one believes you when you say it."

"Yes to all of the above." Draco was beginning to like the Slayer even more as they exchanged words. She was blunt and spunky. He liked that. But even more, she had an air of self-assurance about her. Maybe they had more in common than he previously thought.

"And you don't have all the effects of a vampire?" She inquired again. When he gave her the affirmative, she looked at him hard.

"Hold out your hand." He raised a brow at her, hesitant about her request. "Just trust me."

Draco narrowed his eyes a bit. Everyone waited and then at last he held out his hand. Faith reached into her back pocket, pulling out a vial of clear liquid and unscrewed the lid. Draco leaned back but did not withdraw his hand.

Faith had to be somewhat impressed at his confidence. "You know what it is." It was a statement, not a question.

"How could I not?" he shot back.

Faith grinned knowingly. "Some don't, not even the seasoned ones."

She then poured some of the liquid onto his outstretched hand.

Nothing happened. No sizzle, no burn.

"Wicked." Faith capped the vial and returned it to her pocket. Draco wiped his wet hand onto his shirt, but he was distracted. That was why he didn't see Faith reach under her shirt and yank off a silver chain.

"Heads up." She said calmly, amusement coloring her voice. Draco's head shot up swiftly and he brought his right hand to catch the unknown object. As soon as it made contact with his skin she heard the burn. She also heard him hiss in pain as he dropped the silver cross she had gotten from a cellmate.

"One true, one false. Now we're getting somewhere." Faith grinned cockily, sitting back in her chair. Draco glared at her while blowing cool air onto his red hand. The others quietly observed the scene, letting her do her job. Ron and Harry were trying with great difficulty not to laugh at Draco tending to his burned hand.

Without a pause, she started firing questions at him.

"Name?"

"Draco Malfoy."

"Side?"

"Spy for the good."

It was Faith's turn to arch a brow while Ron snorted skeptically. She tilted her head to the side, filing away the information about this Draco Malfoy.

"So, you were bad?"

"If you want to put it that way."

"I do."

"Alright then."

"Alright then yourself, smart ass. How did you become this slayer slash vampire slash magic-y person thing-y?" Faith questioned with a mixture of inquisitiveness and demand.

Draco gave his trademark bad boy smirk. "I can't tell you."

Ron groaned and pointed to the blonde. "He says that every time!"

Faith stared at him for a long time. Seconds ticked by, and the silence became smothering. Suddenly, she leaned forward and put her right arm on the table. "Not this time he won't," she said determinedly.

Draco gave a short bark of laughter and stared disbelievingly at her. "Oh, I won't, will I?"

She gave a feline grin, licking her lips in anticipation. "Trust me. I'm going to kick your snarky ass from here to the moon then all the way back again. I haven't had a good fight in a LONG time. Either you tell willingly, or we find out if wood through your heart can make you go poof. And I know the difference between when the wood goes through a human heart and a dead vampire one. Believe me. Your people just got me out of jail for it. So let's rumble, baby."

And that's the end of chapter three. I can't believe the amazing feedback we've gotten...especially from Twisting the Hellmouth. It was up for an hour and already 4 reviews and over 100 hits. Bravo.

As I mentioned in a comment, which if you review, I WILL reply back, that this is going to be a trilogy.
