Draco sat up slowly in bed, yawning.

"Morning, sleepyhead," Ginny said from the doorway.

"What happened last night? The last thing I remembered was falling asleep in front of the fireplace..." Draco asked.

"Oh, Harry carried you up. I couldn't be bothered to levitate you," Ginny said.

So those warm arms weren't a dream...

After breakfast, Draco, Ginny, Harry and Hermione lounged in the living room. Arthur had gone to work, Molly had retreated to her study, sorting out last minute details for the Christmas Ball, and the Weasley brothers had gone off to the mansion's Quidditch grounds for a game.

"I'm bored," Ginny complained.

Draco had taken his wand out of his pocket, and was twirling it expertly in his hand. Hermione noticed Harry watching intently.

"Let's bake cookies!" Ginny squealed suddenly.

"Darling, you can't cook," Draco said patiently.

"Hermione can! She'll help me, won't you, Hermione?" Ginny asked.

"Of course," Hermione replied, knowing never to disagree with her.

"Okay, let's go. It's not like we have anything better to do," Draco said.

They walked to the kitchen, and Ginny ordered the house elves inside to leave, as she wanted the kitchen to herself.

Ginny and Hermione started gathering ingredients, while Draco sat atop a kitchen bench, and Harry leaned against the sink opposite him.

"I'm a little scared," Draco said to Harry, nodding towards Ginny. "The last time she tried to cook she nearly burned off my eyebrows."

"I heard that!" Ginny called out.

"You were meant to, sweetheart," Draco called back.

Harry gave an odd sort of chuckle, and he stood up suddenly, the same moment Draco chose to hop down off the bench, and the two came face to face, noses almost touching.

Draco's heartbeat quickened as he felt Harry exhale, the breath brushing across his face. They stared at each other, eyes locked, and Draco felt himself leaning closer as he stared into Harry's bright green eyes. They heard Hermione and Ginny walking back, and jumped apart.

"Okay, let's start!" Ginny exclaimed.

Hermione started showing her how to bake cookies, while Harry and Draco sat at the bench watching, neither in the mood to bake. Ginny managed to make a mess of everything, and soon the kitchen was covered in spills, and a fine covering of flour had settled on everything. Draco looked at Harry and laughed.

"Harry, look at your hair! It's gone grey! This is how you're going to look like in 20 years!" Draco laughed.

"Yeah, well, look at your shirt! It looks like it hasn't been washed in a year," Harry replied, laughing as well.

Draco looked down. His expensive linen shirt was covered in flour, and there was a stain that looked like it landed there when Ginny cracked that egg a little too hard.

"Oh my god, Ginny! This is Dolce and Gabbana!" he cried out.

"Oh, calm down, Drake, I'll buy you a new one," Ginny said.

She stirred the mixture violently and some landed on Draco's face and in Harry's hair. They squealed in disgust in unison.

"Shit! Oh, I give up! I don't want to bake cookies anymore," Ginny sulked.

Draco had had enough of her tantrums and childish behaviour. He cleaned himself up with a spell and announced, "Excuse me, but I need a little break. I'm going to Diagon Alley."

He walked out of the mansion and its boundaries, heading for the apparation spot.

He heard footsteps behind him, turned and saw Harry, who had also cleaned up.

"Hey, you don't mind if I come with you, do you?" he asked.

"You are welcome only if you join me for a drink. I bloody need a firewhiskey right now," Draco said.

Harry nodded and smiled, and they apparated to Diagon Alley.

After a drink in the Leaky Cauldron, Harry and Draco wandered around the shops. They entered Modern Wizard Wear, an upscale shop selling men's clothing. Draco suddenly remembered he had yet to buy a Christmas present for Harry. Draco browsed through the shirts, when he noticed the shop assistant had sidled up to him.

"Need any help, sir?" he asked, smiling rather creepily at Draco.

"No, I'm fine, thanks," Draco replied.

"Are you sure? I can show you some pants that would look great on you," the assistant said, laying a hand on Draco's forearm.

"I'm sure," Draco replied firmly, and went to look for Harry, who was standing by a shelf, holding something.

"Harry, let's get the hell out of here. The assistant is giving me the creeps," Draco said.

Harry didn't seem to have heard Draco, and kept staring at the item in his hands.

"Are you happy with Ginny?" Harry asked softly.

Draco, who had 'The Plan' drilled into his head, was about to answer a confident 'Yes, of course', but something in Harry's voice made him hesitate.

"Draco?"

"...Yes...I am happy with her," Draco replied slowly.

Harry nodded.

"There's something I need to get, excuse me," Harry muttered and exited the shop quickly.

It was then when Draco noticed the item Harry had been holding, placed back on the shelf messily in his haste. It was a grey and green knit scarf, almost identical to the one Draco was wearing yesterday. Draco picked it up and stared at it, then brought it over to the counter.

"Can you gift wrap this?" he asked the assistant, thankfully not the creepy one.

"Of course we can," she replied and tapped the scarf with her wand, and it was immediately covered in a black box and a silver ribbon. "What shall I put on the tag?"

Draco smiled. "To Harry, from Draco," he said.
