Author's Note:
This chapter follows my fave character Gabby around for most of the part, but you get a little bit of insight on dear olde Tommy at the beginning. I hope you don't find Gabby too much of a Mary-Sue. The first part is in Tom's view, and he's pretty much obsessed with her. Later in the story Tom will learn of her flaws.

Tom watched her eat with her friends. She was so pretty, but untouchable. Tom knew her two best friends and brother would skin him alive if he were to talk to her, Gryffindor boys could be so stupid. They thought with their fists most times.

She had lovely fiery red hair. Her eyes were a deep forest green. Her skin was perfect. It was milky white and flawless. She had a curvy body. Her nose was sharp, but cute. And what Tom thought her best quality was, was her smile - it was kind, sweet, seductive, innocent... almost anything you wanted. Her lips were a soft pink, usually covered with a clear lip-gloss.

Tom dreaded what he knew he had to do. She was one of the only things stopping him from becoming the ultimate Dark Lord. He still had many things to conquer, but she would be his biggest problem...

Laughter rang from the three best friends. Gabriella O'Brien, Jeffery Potter, and Dennis Wood sat at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall. Gabby took a deep breath and wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes.

"Stupid Slytherins," Jeff muttered, "Malfoy walked right into the trap!"

"Guess what," Gabby said after taking a sip of her juice.

"What?" Dennis asked through a mouthful of potatoes.

"Apparently, there's a party," Gwen wiped the pieces of potato from her face.

"Where?" both boys exclaimed.

"Quidditch pitch. Tonight," she informed them, "It's going to be huge. Sixth years and up."

"Awesome," Jeff said.

"We've got three hours until them," Gabby checked her watch.

"Let's go back to the common room," Dennis got up, "I've got a new Quidditch magazine I wanna look over."

Gabby sat reading a book while the boys poured over Dennis' magazine. She flipped of her well-read copy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. On the next page there would be a coffee stain.

"Romeo! Romeo! Where art thou Romeo?" Jeff said in a high girly voice.

Gabby rolled her eyes. "I think you do that a little too well."

Jeff blushed.

"Is there something you haven't told us?" Dennis raised an eyebrow.

They all laughed.

"You wish, Den," Jeff muttered.

They continued to bicker as Gabby announced she was going to get ready. She ran into her room hurriedly. Gabby changed into a jean skirt that had slits that went half way up her thigh. She pulled a green bust over her head, and tied the strings. Gabby grabbed her wand and some lip-gloss then set downstairs.

The boys got up from their chess game and they walked to the pitch. They arrived around nine. Before they could go mingle with the crowd they were stopped by two seventh years.

"You're not aloud in without masks," one of them said.

"We take them off at midnight," the other said.

They all received masks that covered the area around their eyes.

"Phantom of the Opera," Jeff muttered as they made their way into the crowd.

The boys were off dancing the Arrabella Figg, and Minerva McGonagall. Gabby stood by herself, a cup of butterbeer in her hand.

"Hey," someone whipped her around. "Want to dance?"

"Yeah," Gabby downed the rest of her drink. She threw her drink on the ground.

The boy seemed a little surprised by her response, but he regained himself. Just in the nick of time too. A slow song came on, and he pulled her close.

"You have really pretty eyes," he whispered.

Gabby couldn't respond, because next thing she knew, she was being pulled away by Charles, her big brother.

"I thought you knew better than to associate with Slytherins," he growled.

"I didn't even know he was one," she said defensively.

"You're doing this just to piss me off, aren't you?" he asked glaring at the boy, "Well, it worked. I'm mad!"

"Charles, calm down. Honestly, I didn't know he was a Slytherin," she raised her hands for protection.

"Gabby, I just don't want you to get hurt. By any other boy? Maybe. But not a Slytherin," he said calming down.

"I know," she nodded.
