Business

Lucius and Bellatrix were enjoying drinks in the largest drawing room of the manor, while Narcissa was making a few last minute preparations with the house elves. The whole house had a feeling of apprehension; it seemed everyone knew that the guest coming tonight was one of great honor. It was three days after the excursion into the Three Broomsticks, and Bellatrix was glowing with pride that she would be allowed to tell the Dark Lord face-to-face of the events she witnessed. She was a fair bit disappointed that she had to wait this long, thought, since the Dark Lord refused to see her until tonight.

At six o'clock there was a pop and Voldemort entered the Adfa Room of Malfoy Manor where his host was waiting. "Lucius, Bellatrix," he nodded to each in turn. "I believe we have some business to discuss."

"Yes, of course my Lord," muttered Lucius as he scrambled to the floor in a low bow. Bellatrix followed suit with a deep curtsey. "I was hoping we could wait until after dinner, you must be hungry my Lord."

"I suppose that is well enough...where is your lovely wife?" questioned Voldemort.

"Actually, I have no idea. I shall locate her, please excuse me," he said with a bow and Bellatrix was left alone with Voldemort.

"My dear, you look exquisite tonight," commented Voldemort. Bellatrix looked up to meet his horrible red eyes which at that moment didn't seem so horrible. She wondered what it would feel like to be intimate with the most powerful wizard in the world. Surely he had needs for a woman like herself , and she would be more than happy to fulfill them, but that was not what this meeting was about.

"Thank you My Lord, I hope you will be pleased with the work I have been doing as well," replied Bellatrix.

"I see you are all business before pleasure Bella, such an odd thing to find in someone as young as yourself," Voldemort chuckled.

"I assumed that business was your only reason for visiting tonight my Lord, and I will have you know that I had my seventeenth birthday three weeks ago, so you will find that I am not so young," retorted Bellatrix.

"Yes, I suppose the pleasure will have to wait," commented Voldemort. Suddenly Lucius strolled into the room with a rather pale Narcissa on his arm.

"Dinner is waiting, if you would follow us." Voldemort rose and offered his arm to Bellatrix and the two couples headed for the formal dining room to enjoy a delicious meal.

All through the five course meal Narcissa was unusually silent and stared at her plate with out even touching the food. Bellatrix kept sending questioning looks in her direction but they remained unanswered. She wondered what could possibly have turned her normally gracious, charming sister into such a quiet almost disturbed shadow of her former self. Even Voldemort noticed Narcissa's behavior and was speaking more gently then he usually did; he obviously felt sorry for her. It was an emotion Bellatrix never thought her master could display.

After dinner Narcissa said she wasn't feeling well and retired to her quarters. The other three had very important business to discuss. Voldemort was extremely puzzled by Dumbledore's acceptance to the offer. After talking over the subject for many minutes Lucius excused himself to check on his wife.

"Bella, you will find that you are in the perfect position to record every move your new headmaster makes as you will undoubtedly be Head Girl with some input from Lucius. With that position of power you will witness first hand all of the changes that may take place."

"Of course my Lord, but how will I report to you; certainly not by owl and no other communications operate at Hogwarts?" asked Bellatrix.

"You pose an intelligent question; there are many different ways to get around that but some may fail. I feel that a telepathy spell would be the strongest form of communication," replied Voldemort.

"Those bonds can only exist through blood though so we would have to use Narcissa," commented Bellatrix

"You may have as much knowledge of the Dark Arts as Lucius; dear, you impress me. I have been working diligently on revising the spell so it may be used through other connections such as putting the communicator under a sort of Imperious curse. That however is simply put and it would not work for the purpose we need. This will need a great deal more research which you will spend the rest of your break doing."

"As you wish, My Lord, I am sure that Lucius' library will have many of the texts necessary and I can test on a house elf or two if Narcissa will oblige," when Bellatrix finished speaking she realized that the Dark Lord had moved closer to her and was stroking her palm with his long, pale fingers. She shuddered as if a surge of power was flowing from her hand to the rest of her body. As Bellatrix turned towards Voldemort he planted a kiss on her lips and she was engulfed in a passion she had never felt before. When she began to return the kiss she felt the Dark Lords hands slowly make their way up her thigh. As she let out a moan he suddenly broke away from her.

"I truly ask your forgiveness Bellatrix I seem to have forgotten, this trip is only business," he said mockingly and was gone in an instant.

The next morning Bellatrix awoke in her bed lonely and longing for something she had been denied. She decided to completely throw herself into studying the telepathy spell and other research. She worked all day with out food until around seven o'clock when a knock sounded on the door. As she opened it she was surprised to find Narcissa still pale, with a tray of food. Bellatrix welcomed her sister in and remembered how strangely she had acted the night before.

"Narcissa, what is bothering you?" it was a rather blunt question but she wanted a strait answer. Narcissa just stared at her sister almost longingly and Bellatrix now understood why the telepathy spell worked especially well between sisters. She could read Narcissa like a book and she knew that right now her sister would give anything to be in her shoes. The only thing Bellatrix could not figure out was why.

"Did you and Lucius have a fight? Did he hit you?" questioned Bellatrix.

Finally Narcissa spoke, "No nothing like that it's just that well I'm I'mthreemonthspregnant," Narcissa said that last bit so fast Bellatrix almost didn't understand her but the message was clear.

"O, I see," was all Bellatrix could manage to get out. She knew that her sister didn't want children for a number of reasons ranging from the fact that she knew nothing about taking care of children and the pregnancy would completely ruin her beautiful figure which she took so much pride in. She knew that she had to find a way to comfort her sister before hell broke loose.

"You have to help me get rid of it Bella," commanded Narcissa.

"Narcissa, why would you get rid of it you have a loving husband who would be the happiest man alive if you gave him his heir this early," Bellatrix could tell that this situation was still within control and she certainly could convince Narcissa to be happy about this.

"You know I never-

"Yes, I know all of your reasons for not wanting children and I understand, believe me, but think about Lucius and do this for him," interrupted Bellatrix.

"I suppose it wouldn't be as bad if you were here with me and it would make Lucius happy. I knew since the night of our wedding this would have to happen sometime and it has. Maybe, getting it over with now is the best thing," with this she gave her younger sister a hug. "I think I will tell Lucius, he will certainly be surprised."

"That is a perfect idea and thank you for the food," Bellatrix had to yell this down the corridor since Narcissa had already left the room. As she ate her meal she could swear that she heard a scream of joy and later moans. "Ugh, how disgusting," she commented then closed the door and returned to her research.
