Chapter 2: A Bid For Freedom

"In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved."

Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882 - 1945)

~*~

After the Death Eater meeting that Ginny had attended, a tension in the manor grew to peak points many times. Blaise was getting increasingly uptight about the raid, which he had been scheduled for the fourth of august.

Ginny found herself slipping into a sort of depression that went beyond her usual less than positive attitude for life. Before Jade, her family and her stubbornness was what kept her going. Now only Jade and a distant hope of seeing her family again saw her threw the days and nights. She hid her melancholy mood from Jade.

Now Blaise was acting strange as well as tense. It was almost a maniacal happiness that had grown ever since the meeting. Ginny had her suspicions. She was positive it had something to do with Lucius Malfoy. Blaise seemed to be taking a leaf from his book in that he became more aggressive and contemptuous. At many points during the week he had raised his hand to Ginny when she had no chance of defending herself. She wouldn't let him become angrier because she knew he would turn on Jade if his frustrations were not alleviated. Besides, she had reasoned, a few charms and she was as good as new. No harm done. Physically that is. However she was only worried about Jade's physical and emotional problems right now.

Ginny on an emotional level was dieing. Her normal fiery spirit was fading away. It had been for a while and pretty soon she would become the empty shell that Blaise wanted so bad. She would become submissive and easy to deal with. If she didn't escape the hell she was surrounded with she would die. If she died, Jade had no chance of surviving.

Ginny had started to go out of her way to keep Jade away from Blaise. Being outside or in their rooms made this job easier. It occupied them both and gave Ginny some peace of mind. Not a very common thing at all. That peace of mind was soon to disappear though. Fate it seemed wished to deal out what Ginny had been trying to prevent since the meeting. For fate works in so many complicated ways we cannot begin to understand how the result will help us.

Jade had become restless waiting for her mother to wake up on the first of august. She had spent so much time in her room over the last week that she had become quite bored with it. She needed a change of surroundings. She grabbed a bouncy ball and began to bounce it down the hall. She wasn't sure where she was going; she was more concerned about the ball and trying not to miss it. However this is where fate intervened and things began to go wrong. The ball hit her foot and bounced away down the hall towards the second floor study.

She raced after it and had almost caught up to it when her father opened the door to the study and the ball deflected off of the door and hit a very expensive and old vase. Jade froze in place. A guilty and horrified look was on her face. Blaise on the other hand was absolutely furious.

"Do you know how much that vase cost?" he said in a deathly quiet voice. It sent chills down her spine. The veins about to pop on his face and neck didn't erase her fear in the least.

"No," she managed to squeak out.

"That vase has been in my family for generations and is worth more than this house. It is completely irreplaceable. Do you understand what I am saying?" Blaise asked still in a furious calm.

"Yes," Jade answered too scared to tell the truth. Irreplaceable wasn't a word she had come across yet.

That's when the yelling began. Blaise was fuming and wasn't afraid to let the whole house know. Surprisingly, but fortunately, Ginny heard him. From that distance you normally couldn't hear a person unless they had cast a sonorous charm. When Ginny found them only minutes later she focused on damage control. Blaise hadn't noticed her yet so she took the opportunity to give Jade a hug to calm the girl down who was now crying hard and shaking.

"Blaise stop yelling," Ginny ordered finally when she thought he was quiet enough to hear her.

"Stop yelling? Stop yelling? You are hugely mistaken if you think you can demand anything of me," Blaise roared. "I am the one in control here and you and the brat best learn that lesson quickly."

"You have no right to treat her like this. It was an accident. She is a kid and therefore doesn't think about consequences like an adult would," Ginny said calmly. Her still composure seemed to aggravate Blaise further.

"I can do whatever I wish to because I hold the power here. Only my master hinders my rights and he is not present nor does he care about the silly beliefs of a housewife and child. Now apologize and you shall be punished or you can keep your pride and I will punish her," Blaise said finally changing from a raving mad voice to a malicious one.

"I apologize for my behavior," Ginny replied. Then the pain began.

Blaise hit her with the Cruciatus curse before she could even flinch. The pain was overwhelming and she felt herself drop to the ground. Her kneecaps hit the hard ground and she felt a sharp pain travel up her leg. It didn't matter though because the pain of a thousand shards of glass, knives and pins digging into her skin made all other pain imperceptible at that moment. She couldn't remember when he took it off her or if he even did. All she knew was that all a sudden there was darkness. In that darkness she found memories.

Ginny sat in a little café drinking water and eating a muffin. She didn't drink coffee anymore because it made her ill and it wasn't good for the baby. Of course at one and a half months of pregnancy almost all food made her ill in the morning. She had figured out that the morning sickness began about a month after pregnancy started. She had told no one, not even her mother. So she was figuring out what to do on her own and with the help of books until she could find a doctor that would be able to keep it a secret.

She had no idea what to tell her family and this is why she had kept her pregnancy to herself. From what they knew she hadn't been seeing anyone. The idea of popping the news out of nowhere was a bit intimidating. Then there was the reaction of the father. She was willing to bet he would ignore it completely but there was still a doubt in her mind. She didn't want to go through all the trouble of explaining why she had Draco Malfoy's baby in her stomach if he would not bother to help raise or acknowledge the child.

After her small lunch Ginny began to wander back to Weasley's Wizard Wheezes until she felt that someone was watching her. She turned but did not see anyone suspicious. Despite that the feeling would not leave her. She took a detour into a bookstore. She stood by a set of shelves where she could view the door. Pretending to read the cover of a book on Dragons, she watched the door. She only waited minutes before a man came into the bookstore and looked around. Ginny hid herself behind the bookshelf waiting for him to leave but he didn't.

She watched him pretend to wander around the rows and thought he looked familiar. A tall man, he was, with dark brown hair. His eyes were a light brown that matched the jumper he was wearing. He had a bright smile but one could tell he was faking it when the girl at the counter made small talk. He was certainly good looking but not anything that special. She could just imagine his personality wasn't all that much better. He told his name to the lady at the counter and she suddenly remembered him from Hogwarts, it was Blaise Zabini

She left the shop while he paid for a book he probably had never intended to buy. She could feel him following her again a few minutes later. Then a hand on her arm but before she could turn and protest he was gone and a letter was in her hand.

If you don't wish to see a day where your family is no longer here than I suggest you go to the Leaky Cauldron at eight tonight.

A small room in the church was reserved for the bride and her bridesmaids. The flower girl was running around downstairs playing with the ring bearer. Ginny sat on a stool trying not to muss her dress. She was thinking about how only her mother and father had come for the wedding and even they came reluctantly.

Blaise had chosen her bridesmaids for this reason. He seemed to think the less friends and family from her side there the better. This is how Pansy Parkinson, Millicent Bulstrode and Lacy Green became her bridesmaids. They were currently in the corner whispering loud enough for Ginny to hear them. Pansy was apparently retelling how Blaise and her had spent the night.

Ginny had expected this to happen sooner or later. She knew Blaise wasn't about to go on celibacy and she certainly wasn't going to fulfill his needs. Pansy had been in love with Blaise since her sixth year. Everyone knew it but Blaise who had taken to dating Ravenclaws. Pansy had taken to dating Goyle to try to get Blaise to notice her. Now Blaise would have her in a sense. If you could call the Maid of Honor having an affair with the groom a relationship.

Blaise's mother came bustling in with the veil. The flower girl had ripped it and she had just finished repairing it. She chatted with Ginny while doing her hair and putting the veil on. Then she insisted that Ginny wear her pearls because she needed something borrowed and she had worn them at her own wedding. Ginny smiled and chatted with her pretending that this was the happiest day of her life. It was supposed to be every girl's biggest day. No, this was a sad day for all the Weasley family.

~Later that day~

Ginny smiled while Blaise finished the bride and groom dance with a dip. Her heart wasn't in it but by this time she had had a lot of practice and a few glasses of wine. She felt her stomach do a slight flip as Blaise announced that he would be dancing with the head bridesmaid while Ginny would dance with his best man, Draco. She didn't know if she could stand this for a whole four minutes. Every time he got near her she could feel the emotions running through her body and mind.

The dance lasted forever and both watched Blaise and Pansy become a little too friendly. Ginny watched because she found it a bit amusing and Draco because he was trying not to look at her.

"Doesn't it bother you?" he had asked.

"No, why would I care?" she had replied.

He hadn't answered. They finished the dance and ignored each other for the rest of the night. Well they tried. If you looked closely you could see every now and then they would glance at each other. Neither caught the other's eyes though.

~*~

Ginny had thought pregnancy couldn't get much harder. She shouldn't have spoken so soon. At nine months her back was aching and she could hardly walk properly. She half shuffled half waddled. It didn't help that she woke up in the night hungry or thirsty. Cravings for different things came up frequently. She didn't have the heart to call on one of the house elves at midnight. Instead she would shuffle across half a continent (half the manor) and arrive at the kitchen exhausted. Then after getting a snack and a glass of water she would make the long journey back to her quarters.

Blaise didn't help much and mostly just ignored her. The first time he had been in her presence during a mood swing he had been thoroughly alarmed and had immediately left the room looking like a complete idiot. Nor did he seem to care that it took her twice as long to answer the door. Which wasn't all that much of a bad thing.

It was one day about three days after her due date that Ginny answered the door. She had been finishing lunch and was about to go have a bath. She knew Draco and Blaise were friends. Hell, Draco was his best man. Nevertheless she had never seen him around the house. So when she had opened the door to see Draco standing there in Black and gray looking as handsome as ever she got a bit of a shock. Her water broke.

Blaise had no idea what was going on and when he encountered the scene not two minutes later he was no help. He almost went into hysterics. Draco had calmly told him to go grab her overnight bag and they would immediately Apparate to St. Mungo's. She had no idea how he was so calm. The hyperventilating Blaise was a bit comical but she was mostly concentrating on the fact she was about to have a baby.

Later she would register the idea of having Draco come to her house as a guest for her husband. She would realize that she still held strong feelings for him. The shock of that first time was still fresh in her mind. She knew that that shock would never leave. She would never get used to him being there as a guest.

~*~

Ginny woke up in her room feeling as though a herd of elephants had ran over her and then someone had taken to hitting her head with a jackhammer repeatedly before throwing her down a hill with rocks and thorns. Not a very good feeling at all. She could not open her eyes and even flinching hurt so she didn't bother trying to get up. When she could open her eyes fifteen minutes later she looked around to find it was night and Jade was curled up in a ball beside her.

She instantly remembered why she had blacked out and what had happened. A look at the clock told her she had been out for thirteen hours. She didn't feel tired and simply lay awake until she felt she could move enough to get her wand and perform a pain killing charm. When she had finished with that she headed down to the kitchens to fix herself a snack. She met no one on the way there and the kitchen was empty.

She fixed herself a snack before going back up to her room. Jade was awake when she got there and yawned before helping her mother demolish the food. Jade seemed a little too quiet for her liking but she waited for the girl to ask her the questions she knew would come.

"Mommy, why did you marry Blaise?"

"That, sweetie, is a question even I am not sure I know. I did it at the time to protect those I love but I am not sure I did a good job," Ginny answered.

"Oh. Well why didn't you marry my other daddy?" Jade raised the question that Ginny had never thought about. It just wasn't meant to be was it?

"Your real father and I came from very different places. It would not have been accepted for us to be in a relationship of any type. Do you understand?"

"Does that mean you weren't allowed?"

"In a way we both knew it would be too much trouble to fight everyone just to be together and I don't think either of us cared about the other enough. I don't think I was ready to give that part of myself away and not have the gesture returned." Ginny tried to explain in terms her daughter would understand.

"My real daddy didn't really love you?"

"If he did he never let me know," Ginny said carefully. "Did you have dinner and lunch today? Did your dad take care of you? Please tell me you weren't neglected all day!" Ginny asked her daughter suddenly.

"No, Daddy ignored me. But Draco made me lunch while his daddy and mine talked. Then he had to go but Pansy made me dinner and played with me when daddy went to work for a while. She is really nice," Jade said happily.

"Well that's good," Ginny replied slowly, trying to figure out if it actually was. "Are you sleepy at all?"

"Yes, I have been trying to stay awake all day so I could be awake when you woke up," Jade smiled.

"Okay, well, I am up now so why don't you try to sleep," Ginny said tucking her under the covers.

She watched as her daughter fell asleep. Stayed beside her as she dreamed. A few hours later when she was still far off from dreamland she got up and threw a robe over her pajamas. Deciding a walk would help her with the excess tension she had, she got up and began to wander around. She ended up outside in the stables somehow and he was there. His blonde hair fell into his eyes as he reached to take a harness off of a horse. She thought it might be Thunder but she wasn't really paying attention to the horse.

"You like riding?" she asked suddenly unaware of why she was talking to him.

"Yes," he answered not looking surprised at all that she was there.

"I am sorry about how I acted when you were talking to Jade," Ginny said after a few moments of silence. "I want to thank you for getting her lunch and being with her while her father worked."

"Where were you?"

"Unconscious in my bed upstairs," she admitted. "I was extremely worried she had been neglected all day."

"Why did you marry him anyway?" Draco asked. "You never struck me as the type who would give up. Or the type to marry someone she doesn't even like."

"You don't know?" Ginny answered with a question.

"If I knew I wouldn't be asking would I?"

"Than I guess he hasn't filled you in on that charm bracelet he wears. I have no idea why he did it but that charm bracelet is why I married him. If I could safely leave here without harming my family, especially Jade, then I would," Ginny half explained.

"Well I don't know anything about that. I am in disgrace because of the years I spent avoiding this fate. I have never fully submitted to the Death Eaters or Voldemort. Therefore I only know what I have to know," Draco said finishing up with the tackle.

She brushed the horse for him, claiming she hadn't ridden in a long time and felt like being near the horse. He stood back against the door watching her. She wore a long nightgown that shimmered like the color of a pearl. It was white but it had that rainbow just beneath the surface when it moved. It wasn't a second skin but it was fitted and you could clearly make out her figure. Also between the glow of the moon and the nightgown her skin seemed to glow. As if she were a fairy or something like that.

"Why did you make me promise not to regret that night?" Ginny's voice broke off his thoughts.

"I don't think I really know the answer to that," he hesitated. "I guess it would be because if you got mad at me for something I didn't want it to be for that."

"Do you think I am mad at you?"

"No. Not from what I can tell," he answered. "Did you keep your promise?"

"Yes," she stated firmly.

They stayed in silence for a while letting the sounds of the night engulf them. It was an easy silence for the most part. That is until Lucius came out and ruined the tranquility of the moment. It was almost as if he knew he had done something to annoy them. He walked in a smug manner with his nose held high.

"I wish to see your daughter at one point" Lucius demanded rather than asked.

"She is sleeping right now," Ginny said emotionlessly.

"If I cared I would have come earlier. You need not wake her up," Lucius said in the same tone.

Draco followed as Ginny finished up brushing and then headed towards the house with his father behind her. The idea of his father getting near Jade irritated him. Though he wasn't completely sure why.

Lucius did not go within a few meters near Jade. Just stared at her looking lost in thought. He didn't speak. Didn't even move for a good quarter of an hour. It made Ginny very uncomfortable. She had a huge urge to throw some more blankets over her daughter but she knew they would both suffer the consequences of those actions.

"Father, what is the point of this?"

"There is no point that you need be concerned about," Lucius answered.

Then Blaise entered the room. He looked a bit disgruntled and tired. Not a look that she had seen on him frequently. Though, she admitted it grudgingly, Ginny knew that Blaise took care of himself. She gave him credit for that at least.

"The raid is set for two days from now. I was sent a reschedule," Blaise said.

"Good. The sooner we get this over with the better. That bracelet by the way, Moody will recognize it. Keep it in that jewelry box I gave you for it. That way the detection charms will make sure they don't find it," Lucius warned.

"How would Moody know about it?" Draco interrupted.

"I used one very similar with your mother and you," Lucius answered.

"You mean this one?" Draco asked, revealing a charm bracelet in his pocket.

"Yes, that one," Lucius divulged. "I gave it to you when I knew you wouldn't run anymore."

"Wrong," Draco said with a smirk in his voice. "You gave it to me when you knew it was useless. That night you had someone chase me through Diagon Alley and I got a death wound from a sword. After that night I wasn't afraid to die so you had no use for it."

"Yes, well it served its purpose," Lucius brushed the comment away.

Ginny didn't know how the conversation ended but she knew soon all three men left and she climbed into bed suddenly tired. The day's events flew threw her mind and she wasn't sure what to make of them. It was all too confusing. Especially when Draco had mentioned that night with the sword wound. He hadn't been afraid to die after receiving a gash across his stomach? That confused her because she remembered that gash vividly. If she had gotten injured like that she wouldn't have wanted to relive the experience. Or any situation that was similar to that.

Trying to figure out the workings of his mind and thoughts was giving her a headache and getting her nowhere so Ginny stopped thinking and tried to get some rest because tomorrow she was going to have to come up with a plan. She needed to get Jade out of there. After being subjected to the Cruciatus Curse she had realized there was no way she could control what happened to her or her daughter. It was finally time to risk it all and get her out.

The next morning Ginny began smoothing out the lines in her plan. She knew that the jewelry box Lucius had given to Blaise could only be opened two ways. One way to open it was to speak five different passwords. The other option was to have Malfoy Blood. With Malfoy blood one could open it simply by lifting the lid. The only two known Malfoys who could gain entrance to the Manor were Lucius and Draco. The only known Malfoys being the key words here.

At nine she took a break and went down to breakfast. Pansy was sitting at the table drinking tea. Ginny noticed that despite what most had said about her she actually was quite pretty. She looked especially lovely in a long blue nightdress with a sheer housecoat that matched. Ginny made herself some eggs and toast before sitting down to join Pansy. They sat in silence for a while.

"Where is Blaise?" Ginny asked looking up from her meal.

"He is sleeping and will be for quite a while. He stayed up doing work most of the night," Pansy answered her mouth frowning slightly.

"Good. I need to ask you a favor. It isn't anything that big and you'll probably get something out of it. Think you can handle it?" Ginny asked, trying to sound a bit casual.

"That would depend on what I get out of it," Pansy replied just as indifferent.

"Well if all goes right Blaise will be a single man again. Does that seem appealing to you?"

"How do you propose to pull this off?" Pansy asked twenty minutes later. Ginny had relayed her whole plan to Pansy.

"I have no idea but hopefully it will work. It means Jade's life if it doesn't work. I don't play around when it comes to her. It will work," said Ginny. She sounded sure.

After Pansy agreed to do the favor and tell no one, Ginny left to go upstairs and wake Jade. There was a small part of the plan that Jade would have to do herself. The bracelet. Ginny would have to rely on her to go into Blaise's bedroom to retrieve it. She trusted Pansy to keep Blaise occupied in one of the guest bedrooms so that Jade could make it in and out quickly. There was one other thing to tell Jade. Ginny knew she could only smuggle Jade out. She wasn't going to make it out this time. Ginny was willing to accept fate if it meant Jade would be safe.

With this on her mind she had decided to tell Jade everything. Who her dad was and why they weren't together. She would tell her about Blaise and the bracelet. Everything would come out so that she would know. She dreaded the reaction though. She hoped she wouldn't be too angry. She entered Jade's room with the intent of telling Jade her history.

"Jade, there is something I have to tell you," Ginny began after waking the girl. "I want to tell you about your father. I went to Hogwarts with him and he was a year ahead of me..." She told the whole story until "...and now I need you to do something. The charm bracelet that Blaise wears is kept in his room. It is in a small black jewelry box. I need you to go in there when I tell you to and grab that bracelet. Then I am going to send you to grandpa and grandma's for a while ok?"

"When will I see you again?" Jade asked not completely understanding. She couldn't figure out why her mother looked so sad.

"I don't know sweetie. Grandma and Grandpa will take care of you until then but if anything happens to them you might go live with one of your uncles," Ginny explained.

"Could I go live with my real daddy until you come back? I would love to live with Draco!" Jade replied eagerly.

"That is something you will have to ask him about," Ginny answered avoiding the question. "Just remember that no matter what happens you can't tell anyone what I have told you. Not even Grandpa and Grandma. This is all to stay a secret unless you think it is really important to tell someone."

~*~

When Bill Weasley opened the door to a figure in a blue cloak he was quite surprised. When he invited her in and she took off her hood he was even more surprised. He knew she couldn't enter the house if she had an ill intent. But that didn't stop him from being suspicious.

"What are you doing here Parkinson?" Bill asked calmly but firmly.

"I am here to give you a message from your sister so don't get all offended. She wants to ask a favor. I think you will be interested in what she has to say..." Pansy began.

After explaining what Bill must do she left him to his thoughts. It didn't take long for him to get up and start owling his brothers. First Charlie and then Ron who he told to grab Fred and George. No sense in calling Percy. He wouldn't make it here on time and would want to involve the Ministry. This it seemed was an occasion where you didn't want anyone but Order members. Which reminded him. Tonks was good at disguise and so he immediately owled her to as well as Harry.

~*~

The clock struck nine and Ginny pulled herself out of bed quietly. She slipped on all black clothes. She crept into Jade's room and woke the girl up. Giving her some cotton slippers to quiet her feet she led Jade to Blaise's room. After making sure that it was empty Ginny pointed out the jewelry box and waited at the door for her. Jade had just made it to the jewelry box when she heard footsteps nearing the room. Ginny rushed into the room and pulled Jade under the bed with her.

She put her hand over the girl's mouth as Blaise entered the room. She could feel the squeak that Jade had managed to bite down. She watched his feet walk across the floor and stop at his dresser. They stayed quiet and still for a few minutes after he left then Jade and Ginny wiggled out from under the bed. Both looking a little shaken they hurried back to Ginny's room after Jade grabbed the bracelet.

After grabbing an overnight bag that Ginny had packed for Jade they made their way down to the balcony at the back of the house. They rushed across the grounds to the garden where Ginny knew they couldn't be seen from the house. In the middle, where a fountain sat with some benches, she saw her brothers, minus Percy, standing with Harry and Tonks. They hadn't seen her yet. They all stood tensely and quiet. Then Jade walked forward and she snapped a twig by standing on it. All seven of them drew their wands and pointed them in the direction of the noise. Ginny came forward with Jade behind her and they all relaxed.

"How do we know she is Ginny?" Tonks asked.

"What do you mean how do we know?" demanded Ron.

"Well I wouldn't put it past Blaise to have us all here for a big Death Eater party. They could all be getting drunk now and then they would come out singing 'I am pretty' while deciding, which one of us should die first. Of course, if they decided to sing that song I would volunteer to be first," Tonks replied.

"You have an over reactive imagination," Charlie commented.

"Yes, well we should still see if it is Ginny. Tonks has a point," Harry said. "But if it is Ginny and I am sure it is then I give an apology in advance."

"What is your favorite color? What guy was the hottest at Hogwarts?" George asked.

"Yeah, and what color is the Gryffindor common room?" Fred continued.

"Green is my favorite color. I am not telling you who the hottest guy was because you will get mad at me. Lastly the Gryffindor common room was red but had gold and mostly consisted of wood. Now if you are finished, those are questions anyone could have answered. I could be Voldemort with Polyjuice potion and you wouldn't know the difference," Ginny finished.

"True or false: Veritaserum is undetectable to human senses on their own," Bill asked.

"True, unless it is mixed into something with alcohol because it will react with the ethanol creating a foam," Ginny answered.

"Are we sure that's not Hermione with Polyjuice potion?" Ron said, causing everyone to chuckle.

Ginny explained about her idea to give Jade to their parents. She explained that they should go to the Order with their families for a while because as soon as Jade was gone he would look for her. Even Percy should be warned. She gave the bracelet to Bill with orders to give it to Dumbledore.

"I can stall Blaise until lunch tomorrow. That is when the raid is and he will expect her to be present," Ginny said finally.

"You aren't coming?" they all asked.

"Not this time. I need to stay here and make sure you have time to get to the Order. You guys have to make it there or there will be blood shed," Ginny answered. She didn't bother to admit she didn't think she was going to survive this.

They all walked to the edge of the grounds and Ginny watched them all Apparate except Tonks who put a cloak around Jade and disguised herself. She would take her to the nearest chimney that was connected to the floo network and take her to her grandparents. Where they would all begin to pack and hopefully make it to the Order well before noon.

Ginny returned to her bedroom and hoped that this was going to work. It had to work. Sleep didn't come easy though. She didn't fall asleep until well past midnight. When she woke up she had to hurry to get ready. Blaise wanted everyone ready for the raid early so he could go over ground rules. Ginny tried not to look like she was excited or happy. She was usually very good at hiding her emotions but she was so relieved he hadn't figured anything out yet.

She stood at the top of the stairs at a quarter to twelve and waited for everything to come out. Blaise came up the stairs as a house elf let the Aurors in. He asked her where Jade was and Ginny told him that she was sleeping. He was furious. An hour later when they had checked through and found nothing the Aurors bid them goodbye and left. Blaise turned on Ginny.

"Why the hell is she sleeping!" he yelled.

"I don't know. Why don't you go ask her?" Ginny replied calmly.

Blaise did and Ginny allowed herself a smile as he walked away. She even allowed herself a small chuckle when she heard his cry of outrage. By the time he had made it back to the entrance hall she had a stone face on.

"Where is she?" Blaise asked his voice held no room for argument.

"She is safe and far away from you," Ginny answered.

Blaise muttered stuff under his breath before finally summoning the bracelet from its box. When he had summoned it for the fifth time Ginny felt she needed to explain.

"It isn't there. She took it with her and you won't be getting it back. Hopefully it will be destroyed so nobody can use it," Ginny said still calm.

"Well, you made a mistake when you didn't join her. Now you will answer to the darkest of wizards. I knew there would be some escape plan after the other day but now you are finished. Voldemort doesn't show mercy. Especially to mudblood loving fools like you. Now we shall see who has the upper hand," Blaise sneered. Binding her he flooed them both. Where, Ginny didn't know. All she knew was that she didn't want to be there.

Author notes: Chapter four should be out soon but chapter five will be the big delay. I am going to try as hard as I can to have it done for the sixteenth when Diana comes home. But since she will be just arriving home I won't rush her to finish it. Thank you all and please review!
