- Ok, I was told I made a mistake with Lia's eyes, she actually has chocolate brown eyes like her mum, and Daisy has blue eyes like her Uncle Ron? Happy? You better be! This is a random chapter that Ella (love you Ella! Thanks for beta-ing) told me was like a filler, unneeded chapter, but it helped me know who was alive and what they were doing. Soo...... off you go! Read! Fill the mind with wonder! ^_~
Chap Two
"Welcome to the Burrow."
Daisy beamed, and the others gaped at the view before them, their mouths become comically 'o' shaped.
Draco looked up at the haphazard house, at loss for words. One look at Ginny's anxious posture told him that he would have to take charge and break the awed silence. "Right, I'm gonna shrink your suitcases so you can put them in your pockets; then we'll make our way up the path..." Draco said, still staring at the house.
He mumbled the incantation and all the cases shrunk. Draco picked up Daisy, who looked slightly green, and held her cage. Ginny took a deep breath and lead the family up the path to the house.
"You lot wait here, I'll talk to my parents." Ginny was trembling badly. Dom, which surprised everyone, gave her a hug, and said he'd go with her. Ginny smiled and gave him a nod. She squeezed his hand affectionately and they made their way to the front door. As they neared the house, she could make out laughing and talking inside. Dread filled her and she suddenly had an almost irrepressibly urge to go home... but, then again, wasn't this her home as well?
"They must have guests. Oh, I hope it isn't Ron!" she muttered.
Dom gave her an encouraging look, like the ones Draco gave her, and she tentatively rang the bell. The talking and laughter cut short, and she heard the scrape of a chair and the door creaked open.
It was her mother, Molly.
"Mummy?" she squeaked.
"Ginny!" It was as though her mother had forgotten she married into a family the Weasleys hated. A warm smilrossed her aging face and she stood in the doorway, speechless as she surveyed her only daughter.
"Ginny?"
"Ginny?"
"Ginny?"
Suddenly she saw her father, and the twins, Fred and George; make their way to the door. Ginny gave them a wobbly smile, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"H - Hi... erm, this is my son Dominic... My other two are over there...with Draco..."
The smiles slipped of their face like melting butter..
"Oh, I thought he'd left you or something," George said, growling slightly.
"George - don't. You don't know half of it. He's not who you think he is, he's changed, just as we all have. I... Ron isn't here, is he?"
They all nodded, and her face paled.
"Well, if you say he's changed, then I believe you, dear," her mother said softly, enveloping her in a very much needed hug. "Get the rest of your family up here; we're having a summer party, except, it isn't very sunny." She looked ut the sky, which was now leaking a few drops of rain.
Molly hugged her grandson and let him in, while Ginny went to get the others.
"Come on." She gestured for the rest of her family to go in and so the girls cautiously went up together. When Draco didn't budge, Ginny put her hand in his and tugged him gently toward the house. "Ron's here. Please, don't start a fight."
He nodded, "I'll try my best." She smiled and gave him a kiss.
When they were all inside, Ginny looked around, only to realise that the place was crowded with people; all the furniture had been taken out and replaced with mis-matched chairs and benches. A countless amount of her old friends were here, along with their children. She grinned inwardly; she'd always loved the house more when it was teeming with people.
Suddenly a tall, lanky man with a face as red as his hair pushed his way through the crowd.
"R-Ron!" Ginny stuttered. She fought down the urge to hug him and kept her distance.
"What are you doing here? Get out!" he shouted.
She could feel the tears flooding into her eyes.
"Ron, this is my family too, you can't shut me out forever. Besides, I haven't seen any of you for seventeen years, for all you know I could've been dead!"
"You mean, for all we wished you could have been dead!" he shot back. "You and your bastard of a husband aren't welcome! Go! And take your brats with you!"
The entire room took a collective intake of breath as they stared between the two siblings, each becoming progressively redder in the face. Finally, the tension snapped when Draco stormed up to him and almost punched him in the face. Ginny managed to hold him back before he launched himself at Ron. Draco's usually calm; almost cold, pale face now sported two deep red spots of anger on his cheeks.
"Why don't you let him hit me, I know you want him to!" bellowed Ron. "You're just a weak, pathetic little girl who hurt all the people that loved her most by fucking a man no better than a rat!"
Ginny abruptly stopped trembling and felt herself regain control of her body as she looked up at her brother, his face sporting a look of fury, superiority, and seeming victory. A surge of anger passed through her and she hauled back her left arm with all her might and punched him hard across the face.
Everyone gasped, gob smacked, as Ron hit the floor, cradling his face in pain, and the small woman stood over him, her red hair reaching in all directions like hissing snakes.
"I am not pathetic and I am not a little girl! I'm 36, for crying out loud! I am here to see family, if that means I have to look at your ugly mug then so be it! You have no right to insult me, my husband, or my children!" She whipped out her wand and pointed it directly at her stunned brother. "Don't tempt me, Ron. If you provoke me any further, I will," she said in a deadly whisper.
"She always was a little firecracker!" chuckled Fred, hoping to lighten the atmosphere.
Dom went to stand next to his sisters while his mother, father, Uncle Ron, and his twin uncles were steered into the next room by his grandparents. This all reminded Lia of the soap operas her and her mother occasionally watch.
A woman with hazel eyes, long, glossy dark hair, and a tanned complexion approached them hesitantly.
"Hi, you must be Ginny's kids. I'm Parvati; let me introduce you to everyone. What are your names?"
"I'm Daisy; this is Amelia - erm - Lia, and Dom," Daisy introduced them, confident even in front of this complete stranger.
quo;Follow me - I'll take you to meet everyone." Parvati smiled at them reassuringly, and Daisy found herself smiling back at this most beautiful woman. She led them into another room where more adults were standing stiffly, huddled together and conversing in hushed whispers. They straightened as Parvati and the children entered and looked around nervously, as if expecting an angry Ginny or bellowing Ron to come after them.
Parvati broke up the apprehension in the room and began introducing everyone. "Guys, these are Daisy, Dom, and Lia- No. Sorry. Lia, Dom, and Daisy." She explained as she pointed to each one in turn.
"This is my husband, Harry Potter. Your mother had a crush on him, and your father hated him," she whispered to the children conspiratorially and laughed slightly. The man sitting opposite them had mad, jet black hair that stuck up in all directions and worried, yet brilliant, slightly worn, emerald gren eyes behind oval spectacles.
"Nice to meet you three," he said amiably; Lia blushed as she felt herself taking a liking to him.
"Is it true you defeated Voldemort when you were just one?" asked Dom in his drawling voice.
"Oh, great Wizards, it's a Malfoy clone!" he chuckled. "You look so much like your father at around sixteen of seventeen. And, yes, I did, but it doesn't appear to have done much use because he kept coming back." He gave another smile but Lia detec a hint of despondency about him.
Parvati gestured towards another couple standing by the windows. "This is Seamus and Lavender Finnegan, with their son, Rupert. He's about a year old now?"
"Yep," confirmed a short, thin man with paling sandy hair and an Irish accent, and winked at the three.
"Yes, well Seamus coaches Puddlemere United Quidditch team and Lavender owns a divination store in Diagon Alley."
"Hi, how are you all doing?" said Lavender genially. Her light hazel hair was pulled up in a casual ponytail and her pale blue eyes kept sweeping down to check on the baby in her arms. She was shorter than Seamus, but only just, and they stood together in complete ease, as if they had been together for a long time.
Lia thought of her mother and the horrible things her uncle had screamed at her. Working hard to keep the slight tremble out of her voice, she said politely, "We're okay. I'm Lia this is my brother Dom and my sister Daisy."
"Lovely names. I assume Lia is Amelia? Yes, and Dom is a Dominic. See Seamus, I said I was good with names." She giggled, hitting hehusband lightly on the arm, who rolled his eyes.
Parvati went on. "This is Angelina, Fred's wife. She's a chaser in the Holyhead Harpies- well was, she had to take leave. About five months, right Angel?"
Angelina was standing by the door restlessly, rubbing her enlarged stomach. She turned to the three and greeted them breathlessly. "It's six actually. It's nice to meet you! Erm - if you'll excuse me, I don't trust Fred and George together." With that, she sped off.
"This is Katie, George's wife. She's also a chaser, though for Wimbourne Wasps, I believe."
Katie merely nodded, giving them a terse smile, and followed Angelina.
The adults shuffled nervously glancing after the twin's wives and Parvati tried to inject a lighter note into her voice. "This is Bill, your mother's oldest brother, and his wife Fleur. Bill use to be a code-breaker for Gringotts, but now he orders other people to do it for him, I think."
Bill had long and smooth flaming red hair and a stud in one ear, with stubble on his chin, making him look slightly unkempt. Fleur was stunningly beautiful, with long golden hair and a smooth complexion. Lia felt a short stab of jealousy and looked over at her brother who could hardly keep the admiration out of his eyes. She chuckled inwardly as she realised that Fleur was part veela, but as she noticed Fleur and Bill stand together, she noticed the genuine affection between them. Bill waved at them, and said something to his wife in French. She suddenly looked up at them and grinned, showing off perfect, white teeth, and crows feet around her eyes. "You look like your muzzer, little one," she said to Daisy, who gauged the compliment and blushed.
"This is Charlie, Ginny's second oldest brother, and his wife Martine. They're dragon-tamers!"
Charlie was much like the twins and Ginny - short and stocky but strong. The only difference was that he had a great tan, a lot more freckles, and a huge scar on his right arm. Martine was tanned too; she had hazel hair and blue-green eyes. They looked very out of place amidst their pale family members.
"Do you like dragons? We work with them in Romania," Charlie said eagerly, his electric blue eyes lighting.
Dom was about to reply and the two girls looked took the couple in when Parvati gave a sigh and an eye roll and pushed them towards another pair. One had a proud to the point of pompous stance and short, slightly grey, red hair, blue eyes with a very freckly fa. His wife had long chocolate brown hair in a plait and pale blue eyes.
"This is your third oldest Uncle and Minister of Magic, Percy and his wife Penelope."
"It is a pleasure," he said sombrely, shaking their hands and puffing out his chest further.
The other adults snorted with suppressed laughter. "Moving on, here are our newly weds, Matt, Charlie's oldest son, and his wife Anwen, with baby Holly. Matt is a goblin liaison and Anwen is a charms researcher."
Anwen was a slender woman with icy blue eyes and short, flicky ash-blonde hair, holding a small, sleeping baby, with hazel hair like her father. Lia assumed she probably had blue eyes too, since both parents had them.
"Hey, it's great to finally meet you three!" said Anwen in an oddly ethereal voice.
"She is so sweet!" cooed Daisy as she looked down at the baby.
Daisy prompted Matt and Anwen to look down at their baby, incredibly proud looks on their faces. They smiled at the three children and moved to talk to Bill and Fleur, with a wave.
"This is Neville Longbottom." Parvati pointed their gazes toward a plump man with thinning brown hair and a worried expression. He sat, huddled in a large armchair, and waved at them uncertainly.
"H-hello." He started to say something else, thought better of it, and went back to sitting quietly in his armchair, gazing at the door with a worried expression. <
Parvati chuckled quietly. "He used to fancy your mother, the poor sod," she whispered to Lia. "He's an incredibly sweet man... but he's been a bit off since his Gran died a few years ago. Harry says he's stuttering worse then Quirrel with you-know-who attached to the back of his head."
Lia gave Neville a sympathetic look and he looked up, startled, then smiled warmly at her.
"Finally, meet the old fogies." Parvati grinned cheekily, &uo;This is Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, who, would you believe it, has been in Azkaban and died once, and survived both? Then there's Nymphadora Tonks -"
"Oh, bloody hell, call me Tonks. You know I hate my first name. And, Parvati, darling: I. Am. Not. Old!"
All of them giggled. Tonks had sky blue, curly hair, purple eyes, and rosy cheeks. She was short with a slightly podgy figure, which made her even more likeable.
"Erm, your hair's blue...," said Daisy uncertainly.
"I'm a Metamorphmagus, I can change the way I look," she explained, her hair becoming long and pink as she spoke.
"How can you be alive if you died?" Dom asked Sirius, eyebrow furrowed.
Sirius gave Remus a look that Lia interpreted to be very shifty. He laughed uncertainly. "I didn't really want to die so I came back through Necromancy. It's... it's a long story." He smiled at them as he finished his short explanation of his resurrection and Lia eyed him suspiciously, sure that there was more the story. His hair was black, peppered with grey, and he had deep brown eyes. Although he was, at least, in his late fifties he looked like he had a lot of life left in him; there was a glint of mischievousness in his eyes.
"Pass me some crisps, Moony," he said, poking the man next to him. Moony gave him an exasperated look with his pale blue eyes and flicked a look of light brown hair out of his eyes. He looked exceedingly weary.
"Certainly, Padfoot."
Lia looked at Parvati questioningly, buhe just whispered about ignoring them since they were "worse than Fred and George."
Suddenly, Ginny scuttled out of the other room, followed by the twins, Molly and Arthur, then Draco and Ron, both looking incredibly bruised.
"Ah, the rest of the adults. This is Molly, your grandmother, and Arthur, your grandfather."
They looked at their grandparents blankly until Daisy ran up and hugged them. Lia followed soon after with Dom trailing behind. Molly burst into tears and Arthur just beamed at them all.
"Nice to see you too!" he chortled.
"I'll leave you two to do the rest of the introductions; I need to save Harry from some of the children. Oh, and they need to meet the kids too!" With that, she ran off, pulling kids off her husband, who looked on the verge of passing out from lack of oxygen.
"You need to meet the gruesome twosome: this is Fred and George, and I presume you've met their wives."
Fred and George were like the male version of their mother: Long, shaggy hair in soft curls, deep brandy-coloured eyes, and mischievous grins, their faces covered in freckles just like Charlie, Percy, and Ron.
"Watch your drinks - they're sneaky, even at thirty-nine," whispered Arthur.
"Nice to meet you all, what are your names?" Fred...or George asked.
"I'm Daisy, this is Lia and Dom!" Daisy said, grinning up at her twin uncles in awe.
"Are you a pranker, too? You look like one." One of the twins bent down to her level and said with a wink, "If you sit by me at dinner I'll teach you the trick of the trade." Daisy squealed and bounced up and down, hugging him.
Parvati came over again ready to make more introductions, she looked noticeably dishevelled, her hair flying everywhere and her robes awry. "The kids are all outside, eager to meet you." They were forced to bid farewell to
"Kids, meet your cousins!" shouted Molly.
They all ran over, strangely in lines.
"I told them to do that, just after you came," grinned Arthur, "Kids, these are you aunt Ginny's children: Lia, Dom, and Daisy."
"These are the Potters: Lily, who's fifteen, and Jimmy, who's twelve."
Lily was a beautiful and thin girl with smooth black hair, like her mother, and emerald green eyes like her father. Jimmy was like a clone of his father, wild black hair, which stuck up in all directions, and hazel eyes. They smiled uncertainly and shuffled a bit.
"These are Ron and Hermione's children: Eddie is sixteen, Malcolm is fourteen, Annabel is eleven, and Thomas is three."
Eddie was tall and lanky like his father, with short and spiky brown hair, which the Malfoys assumed came from Hermione, and blue eyes that obviously had come from Ron. Eddie was holding little Thomas, who had mousy brown hair and green eyes, while Malcolm had red hair in the same style as his dad and deep blue eyes. Annabel had auburn hair with a blonde tint and green eyes. Eddie gave them a glare, as his father had, and the others nodded slightly.
"This is Fred and Angelina's daughter: Bethany, she's nine."
"Heya." Bethany had short, curly ginger hair and deep brown eyes, like her mother. She was weag a frilly pink dress, which she kept tugging at. Then again you would too if you looked like a marshmallow.
"This is Isaac, he's seventeen, and Toby, who's fourteen. They're George and Alicia's two boys."
"Hey - you must be Lia and... erm, Dom? Yeah. And little Daisy." A boy, the spitting image of George greeted them. His hair was brilliantly red with flecks of gold while his brother was a brunet and had inherited his father's blue eyes, which, Lia thought, made him look rather sweet.
"These are Charlie and Martine's kids: Andrea is nineteen, Louise is sixteen, and Rhiannon is twelve. I'm sure you met Matt, he's twenty-one, I believe. Kids; growing up so fast..."
Andrea was a very mature looking girl who sported short spiky auburn hair with blonde tips and hazel eyes. Louise had tanned skin, like her mother, and the same hazel hair, twisted into countless of braids. Rhiannon looked like a cross between both her sisters, with pale skin, and hazel, curly hair. They all smiled and nodded but looked strangely tight-lipped and didn't say anything.
"These young'uns are Mike, he's thirteen, and the look-a-likes, Tess and Ben are ten and eleven. They're Fleur and Bill's kids. Can you believe my oldest wasn't the first with kids, deary me..."
Michael was a lot like his dad except he had shorter hair, but he had the earring and his grandfather's green eyes. Bonnie and Ben where twins in almost every aspect: Tess had long white-blonde hair up in two French plaits, whereas Ben had the same hair colour in a short flick at the front. They both had their mother's icy blue eyes with hidden green sparkles in them.
"Then there's Percy and Penelope's son, Giles - he's seventeen."
Giles had his father's straight auburn hair and his mots hazel eyes. Like his father, his chest and his head seemed to be permanently inflated.
"Splendid to finally meet my other cousins, and someone, other than Isaac, who is my age," he said pompously, shaking all their hands in turn with immense enthusiasm.
"Erm, right..." Lia said, a bit uncertainly. "I'm Lia, this is Dom and Daisy." Lia said as Giles madly pumped her arm up and down. When he finally let go she flexed her hand to get the feeling back to the areas where he had crushed it.
"There's still Matt's daughter, but ssume you've met her," Molly said, thankfully stopping Giles from saying anything else. "I'm going to talk to Percy and Charlie, before they kill each other." With a sigh, she and Arthur hurried off to break up what was looking to be an increasingly heated argument.
"So, are you going to Hogwarts? What house would you be present in?" Giles asked in the poshest accent Lia had ever heard. He glanced down his nose at her, which only succeeded in her forming a growing dislike towards him.
"Erm... well I'd love to be in Gryffindor, but I'll probably end up in Hufflepuff or something," Lia giggled, hoping he had a sense of humour.
"Ah, well, we're not all brave - people are different. Hufflepuff is a very noble house," he said in a lazy drawl, crushing Lia's hope that there would be some humour beneath that stiff and bland exterior. "What about your younger siblings? What do they want to be in?"
"Well I-" Dom began.
"I'm sorry, I don't believe I was talking to you, I was talking to your sister. Apparently you father hasn't taught you any civilities," he sneered. He turned back to Lia, giving Dom an opportunity to give him an ugly look and rude gesture behind his back. "I'm in Ravenclaw, it houses all those with brilliant minds. My mother was also in it." He looked at her shrewdly and said in a voice with thinly veiled doubt, "You might do well in it, to"
"Well I hope I'm not if they're as rude as you are," Lia snapped at him, her tolerance worn thin. "My 'siblings' will be in whatever house the sorting hat sees fit to put them in. All of us will most likely be in Gryffindor, because looks like the house that's bred the least idiots, from what I've gathered. For your information, they can talk on their own. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to see if my father is all right."
With that, she stormed off, smiling sweetly, accompanied by rousing applause from the other children as she left a steaming Giles behind her.
Author notes: I hoped you like it, you probably agree that it is a random chapter but I'm not very good at stories, I make too much detail, in unnessecary places, and not enough when needed- also, Voldie won't be here for a while! ^_~
