I was listening to the song Clark Gable by the Postal Service when I wrote this...

When Harry Potter awoke that morning it felt just like an ordinary day. He rolled himself out of bed in his usual daze, took a quick shower, and threw on his uniform. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. But then he went downstairs to the common room and found something most unusual. A rather large crowd of Gryffindors, all shapes and sizes, were gathering around the bulletin board in a fit of giggles and chattering.

"Harry!" Ron called to him, shoving his way out of the eccentric mob.

"What the hell is going on?" Harry asked as Ron approached him. Ron just grinned like a fool.

"Oh, honestly. I don't see what all the fuss is about," Hermione groaned, also pulling herself out of the swarm. "It's just a stupid pajama party. Quite childish if you ask me."

"Oh lighten up Hermione. You're not fooling anyone with that act. We all know you're a party animal," Ron smirked. Hermione just huffed and rolled her eyes.

"Oh so that's what it is. Who's planning it?"

"Dean and Seamus. I guess its tomorrow night and all you can wear are pajamas."

"That being why it's called a 'pajama party'," Hermione scoffed sarcastically. Ron just ignored her.

"And there will be food."

"Sounds like fun," said Harry, feeling like a party might be just what he needed.

The time between then and the party could not go by faster for the Gryffindors. It seemed that the party was all anyone was talking about, and other houses, in feeling left out, had decided to have parties of their own. The school was simply buzzing with excitement.

About an hour before the festivity was said to be begin, people were rushing around their dormitories, rummaging through belongings of theirs (and sometimes other peoples) for fashionable pajamas. Even Ron seemed a little anxious, something that Harry thought might have to do with Hermione, considering every five minutes Ron asked if Harry thought she was going.

At last the time had finally come for the pajama party to begin. Ron's pajamas were bright orange with the Chudley Cannons logo plastered across the back, while Harry's were simply white with blue pinstripes. When the pair arrived in the common room it was already packed with students in their night wear. Music was playing and there was a table covered with snacks and drinks. Ron immediately went off toward the snack table and Harry decided to visit Hermione, who was sitting in a chair by the fire.

"Having fun?" he asked, noting the look of boredom on her face. She looked up at him and smiled rather weakly.

"Where's Ron?" she asked.

"I'll give you three guesses..." Her eyes immediately darted over to the food table where Ron was stuffing his face with some kind of pastry. He looked up, most likely feeling her gaze, and started walking over to them.

"Nice pajamas," he said to her after swallowing the food in his mouth. She had on plaid, turquoise pajamas that did look quite cute on her, not that Ron would say that out loud.

"Likewise," she replied, standing from her chair. "It looks like they're about to play a game or something." Most of the Gryffindors were culminating in a circle on the floor across the room. Seamus had something in his hand, and Harry hoped it wasn't what he thought it was.

"Spin the bottle!" Seamus yelled, placing the bottle in the center of the circle. "Everyone ready?"

"Yeah, great idea Hermione," Ron whispered to her sarcastically, as the three sat down beside each other.

"What do you mean? What is spin the bottle anyways?"

"You don't know what it is? Hermione it-," but he was cut off by Seamus, who apparently couldn't spin with all the giggling and chatter buzzing around the circle. It went so quiet that one could hear the glass skidding on the carpet. Everyone held their breath in anticipation, and when the bottle finally stopped, a gasp emerged from every mouth except Hermiones.

"I don't get it," she leaned in and whispered to Ron. But Ron was too busy focusing on Lavender to help her.

"Is she actually going to kiss him?" Harry asked Ron. Lavender and her friends were in a frenzy of giggles, their faces bright red. They went on like this for a few minutes until Lavender finally said:

"Well are you going to kiss me or not?" to Seamus. The two of them stood up and met in the center of the circle. Their lips met quickly and parted just as quickly, instigating a fit of laughter and cheers from everyone in the room (except Hermione).

"What kind of game is this?" she asked Ron, appalled. He blushed and let a smile chase across his lips.

"Who's going next?" Seamus yelled.

"This is crazy!" Hermione spat, sticking her hand in the air in exasperation.

"Alright Hermione!" said Seamus, handing her the bottle. Every one began cheering for her.

"Wait! I didn't mean I-," but she was stopped by the booming sound of everyone yelling "Go! Go! Go!" She looked down at Ron with pleading eyes, but he just shrugged and gently pushed her into the circle.

"Jerk," she muttered under her breath. Nervously, she placed the bottle down and gave it a hard twirl before returning back to her spot next to Ron. It spinned for what seemed like forever and then it started slowing down. Could it land on Dean? Or maybe some gross first year? Just as long as its not...oh gosh. It had stopped on Ron and everyone was dead silent. She could feel the heat coming off of Ron's cheeks beside her; he was stiff as a broomstick. Harry's eyes were bulging. Were they actually going to kiss?

"Are you guys going to do this or what? Because all I have to say is it's about time!" Lavender called from across the circle, breaking the deafening silence.

"Yeah, really," added Parvati. Now the entire group of Gryiffindors, even the first years, were saying things like "Just do it" and "Its not like you don't want to!" Harry could tell that Hermione and Ron were simply shocked. The two finally found the courage to look at each other. Hermione thought she had never seen him so red. For a few minutes they just stared at each other and people were starting to get anxious.

"Oh for Merlin's sake," Harry sighed, realizing what had to be done. He put his hand on Hermione's back and pushed her into Ron. Their lips locked and Ron fell backwards onto the floor with Hermione on top of him. A wave of cheers erupted from the audience of students as the couple tried to regain a less embarrassing position.

"Harry!" they both shouted at him simultaneously.

"What?" he asked innocently. Although Harry knew they might be mad at him momentarily, in the end they would end up thanking him, or at least everyone else would.
