July 14 1995 - 8pm

To me, two summer months last as long as a entire year at Hogwarts. I can't believe that it's only been two weeks.

I've spent a lot of my time in my room reading books (about Quidditch mainly), or working on my school assignments. Uncle Vernon goes to work and Dudley usually does something with his friends. So as long as Aunt Petunia and I stay out of each others way, it's fairly quiet throughout the day.

Nothing about Voldemort in the Daily Prophet, which means that dunderhead Fudge still hasn't accepted that Voldemort is back. On the other side of the coin, it means that there haven't been any sort of attacks.

Ron and Hermione have been in contact everyday, usually just quick notes asking how I'm going, which I greatly appreciate. Ron is staying at The Burrow all summer partly because his mum is worried (can't say I blame her really), but also because he's waiting to see if Dumbledore will allow me to stay at The Burrow before I have to go back to Hogwarts. He has been trying to find out what Dumbledore is talking to his Dad about, but so far he hasn't had any luck.

The other day though, Ron shocked me when he admitted that he had had feelings for Hermione during the last school year. I mean, it was pretty obvious that he did, but I never thought that he would admit to it. But according to Ron, he over Hermione now, so I asked if there anyone he liked at the moment. His response wa pretty simple:

"I'm single for now mate."

Hermione meanwhile is also at home with her parents and as per usual, she spending her holidays hitting the books and getting her work done to it's usual high standard. She could drive Ron and I crazy this year with our O.W.L's coming up!

Hermione wrote to Ron and I saying that she decided not to go and visit Viktor Krum in Bulgaria, saying that Viktor and her were just friends. Krum seemed to care for Hermione but Hermione wanted to leave it at friendship. She confided with me however, that the real reason that she stayed was because she was worried about me.

Love is a powerful thing. For the first year of my life, I was loved by my parents, but I can't remember it. For the next ten years with the Dursleys, I lived in the cupboard under the stairs without being loved for, cared for and Dudley made sure that I had no friends at school. Put simply, I was miserable and I had no idea what love was.

But for my last four years at Hogwarts, I have been surrounded by people who love and care for me; the Weasley family, Hermione, Hagrid and Sirius mainly, but there are many others. All these people have tought me what love is, but my greatest lesson on love has come from my own mother, with the sacrifice she made to save my life.

In my opinion, there isn't a more powerful type of love in the world than that.
