Chapter 2

Professor Snape walked into Dumbledore's office. Dumbledore was sitting in his chair filling out some papers. Fawkes was sitting on his perch watching Dumbledore.

"You summoned me professor," Snape said.

"Ah yes Professor Snape, I did call to you. I need you to check out something for me. A man was found unconscious by the lake early this morning, I need you to check him out," Dumbledore said.

"But headmaster, I am no mediwizard," Snape said.

"I know that, I just want you to see if he has got a Dark Mark, or any other curses on him," he said.

"That I can do," Snape said, and he left the room, as he was walking towards the lake he was joined by Madam Pomfrey who had a floating stretcher. When they neared the lake, Snape motioned Madam Pomfrey to stay back, which she did. As he neared the man he noticed that his hair was a lot like Draco Malfoys, but it wasn't Draco, and it sure as hell wasn't Lucius. The first thing he did was look for the Dark Mark, which wasn't there. He checked for any spells. There was nothing. Madam Pomfrey came as soon as Snape signaled it was safe. As soon as the man was on the stretcher Snape went inside to his classroom.

"Professor?" a voice asked. Snape looked up and saw Draco Malfoy standing in the doorway.

"What can I do for you Mr. Malfoy?"

" I was on my way to the nurse, but I started to fell really dizzy and light headed. I don't think I can make it to Madam Pomfrey," Draco said.

"Okay, Draco I want you to stay here. Sit down and rest. I'm going to go get Madam Pomfrey," Snape said.

Snape hurried off. He was really worried about Draco. Usually a wizard or witch didn't get sick at Hogwarts, but when they did it was really horrible.

When Snape walked into the hospital wing Madam Pomfrey walked up to him.

"Is there a problem, Professor?" she asked.

"One of my student's is sick. He can't make it any further than my classroom. Could you please come and check him out?" he said.

"Of course I will," Madam Pomfrey said. She summoned a stretcher and she and Snape hurried down to his classroom. When they got there Draco Malfoy was unconscious on the floor.

Dumbledore was looking over Myra's records when Snape walked in.

"Ah Professor Snape what can I do for you?" he asked.

"One of the students, Draco Malfoy, is seriously ill. Madam Pomfrey doesn't know what he has and we wanted to know if you knew of anything that might help us," Snape said.

"I have nothing on magical illness, but I know someone who dose. I will send for her book immediately. Please let me know immediately if anymore show up with this illness," Dumbledore said.

"Of course professor," Snape said, and he left.

Dumbledore looked down at the papers and his eyes fell on one word: Riddle. This could be a problem.

Myra woke up and saw Hermione was the only one who was up. Hermione was already dressed and heading out the door when Myra called out to her.

"Hermione, wait for me!" Myra said. Hermione turned and nodded that she would wait, and went outside to wait. Myra quickly changed and hurried out to Hermione who was waiting in the common room.

"Hermione, I have a few questions about last night," Myra said.

"Okay, go ahead, ask," Hermione said.

"After Harry saw all those things in the crystal ball, they happened, right?" Myra asked.

"Yep," Hermione said.

"Then why where you all so surprised when it came true?" Myra asked.

"Well, we had really hopped it was all Harry's imagination but it wasn't. And even though we were expecting it, it was still a major shock to us," Hermione said, "anything else?"

"Nope, let's go get our schedules and then have breakfast," Myra said.

After they got their schedules Myra and Hermione went into the Great Hall, which was empty.

"Okay time to compare schedules," Myra said.

"Let's start with Monday. Okay first thing I have is Arithmancy at 9, Lunch, and then Potions at 1, what do you have?" Hermione asked.

"I have Arithmancy too, Lunch, and then Potions, Tuesday I have Charms, Lunch, then Care for magical Creatures," Myra said,

"Same as you, Wednesday Muggle Studies, lunch, and then Herbology," Hermione said.

"Same, then Transfiguration on Thursday, lunch, then history of magic," Myra said.

"Different, History of magic, then Transfiguration, Friday Astrology, lunch, then Defense against the Dark Arts," Hermione said.

"Same, oh look, here comes the boys, let's see what they have," Myra said.

As soon as they had sat down Hermione and Myra grabbed their schedules out of their hands and looked them over.

"You have the exact same schedule as Hermione, except you have Divination, oh, and Harry you've been asked to help with flying lessons first thing on Wednesday," Myra said.

"Ron has the same, except he has been asked to help in Care for magical Creatures on Wednesday," Hermione said.

"Cool," they booth said.

By the time most people came in the foursome had already left. They were in the library when it happened. Harry and Ron were over by the restricted section when Pansy Parkinson walked in and staggered over and sat down by Myra. She was really pale and shaking something fierce.

"Are you okay?" Myra asked.

"Going to passsssssss..." and Pansy Parkinson fell to the floor in a dead faint. Screams erupted in the library, books were dropped to the floor, chairs fell over and papers went everywhere. In was only a matter of minutes before Madam Pomfrey came rushing into the library and saw Myra sitting by Pansy.

"How is her pulse?" she asked.

"Very weak," Myra replied.

"Is there any other victims?" she asked.

"I'll check," Myra said.

Myra hurried through the library. She saw nothing until she went into the restricted section. On the floor was Millicent Bulstrode and Lavender Brown lay unconscious on the floor.

"Professor, three more students have fallen ill, and it is spreading like crazy! For every one student that gets sick three more come down with it to. At this rate the whole school will be sick within a week!" Snape said.

"I can see your concern. Fortunately the book I sent for arrived just a few minutes before you did. I believe I know the illness. But if it is what I think it is, it can and will become deadly... fast! And there is only one know cure, celteddis. And that is incredibly rare," Dumbledore said.

"What is celteddis?" Snape asked.

"It is a magical plant, with rainbow leaves and very, very poisonous thorns," Dumbledore said.

"And what is the diseases name?" he asked.

"Amoniahervirus, here look in the book," Dumbledore said.

Snape took the book and started to read.

A·mon·ia·her·virus - Only young witches and wizards can catch this virus. If the antidote is not giving in two weeks, the virus starts to eat away the organs. After it starts on the organs it kills within two hours. The only know antidote is celteddis. Celteddis is only found in Brazil. It is extremely rare. Some sings and symptoms are:

·Dead faints

·Dizziness

·And going pale white

This illness can only be found in the following: Britain, Scotland, and Ireland. If illness breaks out inform the Minister of Magic right away.

"There was a out break of Amoniahervirus when I went to school here. It was my fifth year...

Albus Dumbledore stood at the bottom of the stairs; he looked down at Sheryl Humbling. She was unconscious. The nurse, Madam Nervier, was on her way. Sheryl was the fifth case that day. Nine people had already died; Sheryl was the next to go. She had always been a sensitive person, when she caught the virus it attacked her organs immediately. She died within an hour and a half. After she died, Albus went home for the rest of the school year. When Christmas came he got a letter saying a funeral would be held for all the victims. At the funeral he said good-bye to some of his closets friends, and his girlfriend Sheryl. When he graduated from Hogwarts, there were only nine other people who graduated with him, the rest had died.

"...And that was the last time something this big happened, so many people died, so many lives lost,' Dumbledore said.

"I better get back to class," Snape said.

"Of course, do you have Myra today?" Dumbledore asked.

"Today is Monday, so yes I have her," he said.

"Please send her to me when you do," Dumbledore said.

"Of course," Snape said, and he left.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Myra ran all the way down to potions. Being late on the first day was not good. Of course other students where hurrying too. A whole group of students had fainted in front of the door leading out of the Great Hall. This had caused a huge uproar in the student body. It had taken ten minutes to get everyone settled back down. Now the whole student body was, of course, late.

Snape was sitting waiting for the class.

"Have a seat," he said, as soon as everyone walked in he started, " there is a very deadly virus going around the school. If you start to fell sick, tell a adult, and try and get to the hospital wing, as soon as possible."

Once every one settled down from this news, Snape went over and stood in front of Myra.

"The headmaster wants to see you," he said to her.

Myra nodded, packed up her things, and left. She hurried up to the gargoyle and there was Dumbledore, waiting for her. He led her into his office. He told her to have a seat, and then he left. Myra's eyes fell on Fawkes. He flew over to her and landed on her shoulder. The minute he touched her something heavy fell into her lap. It was a small burgundy box. She opened it and inside was a crystal on a thin silver chain. She took it out of the box, put on the necklace, and slipped the box into her robe pocket.

"Myra, you mother went to this school, she was best friends with Harry's mom, Lily Potter," Dumbledore said, " you mother left this in my possession when she left," and he handed her a diary, "she told me to give it to her daughter when we where making arrangements for you to come here. I want you to go back to your house, Miss. Granger will bring you your homework."

Myra nodded and left. She went up to her room and started to read it, Crookshanks came and hopped up on the bed next to her. She scratched behind his ears and continued to read.

Dear Diary,

Lily's done it now. I should have known she would have done something like this. If she's caught she will be in so much trouble! I mean come on, becoming an Animagus, that's not the worst part, an unregistered Animagus. She showed me what she was, a cat. The cat she can turn into looks like this:

  • Ginger fur

  • Squished face (because Lily ran into a wall, and squished the face of the cat 'morph')

  • Green eyes

"Crookshanks?" Myra asked. The minute she looked at the cat, he bolted.

Crookshanks might be Lily Potter! If he is, Harry might not be an orphan, but why would Voldie let her get away? I can't tell Harry until I get more proof. It would hurt him so much if my hunch were wrong.

Hermione walked in and saw Myra lying on the bed.

"Are you okay?" she asked

"Yeh, I'm just tired, did you bring my potions homework?" she asked.

"Yep, it's not due till next Monday," Hermione said.

"Is anyone else sick?" Myra asked.

"No one that we personally know, we're lucky that we aren't sick," Hermione said.

"I'm going to get some sleep, will you bring me back something from dinner?" Myra asked.

"Of course," Hermione said, and with that she left. Myra turned her attention back to the diary. She noticed some letters at the back of the book. She pulled them out and begun to read.

Dear Lilac,

I have been doing some research on that crystal you always wear, anyway, that particular crystal is called the Power of the Phoenix, in order for it to start gaining power there has to be a group of people that are called the Order of the Phoenix. I talked to Dumbledore, and he said that the there was a group, and that's why your crystal has been glowing. It means that your crystal might be one of the keys to defeating He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (that is a long name to spell out).

Also, congratulations on your new niece, Fleur. Now you get to spoil her rotten! I also am coming to your wedding! I'm honored that you want me to be your Maid of Honor, and I will be! I will be coming next Tuesday at nine am.

With all my love,

Lily Potter

Myra looked down at her necklace. So this is the Power of the Phoenix. One of the keys, she says. I wonder what the other ones are. I'll just have to keep reading and see if I can find out what the other keys are.

Dear Lilac,

I found out what another key is. Godric Gryffindors sword! It hasn't been seen for over two hundred years! Can you believe that! I'm going to try and find it. Anyway, I named my cat form; Krookshnks, of course people will probably turn the k to a c. But who cares. James still doesn't know I'm an Animagus, not to mention unregistered. Dumbledore thinks You-Know-Who is going to be back in England after your marriage. I can't believe that you're going to move away from me! I'm so sad! I can't wait to help pick out your dress!

Love,

Lily Potter

Myra put down the letter, and walked over and opened her trunk, and slipped the diary and letters into the bottom of the trunk and closed it. She hopped into bed and fell asleep.

Madam Pomfrey was watching the mysterious stranger when he started to stir. He opened his eyes and looked around.

"It's happened already," he said, "it's started, I can feel it!"
