Grains of Sand
Ever looked upon a beach and gazed at the sand. Some rocks have not broken down into the grains. Some stand out above the rest. Voldemort, he stood out. Professor Dumbledore, he was a stone. And Harry Potter. He stood out in my time. I was nothing but a grain of sand, we held up the stones. We are never remembered because our lives are miniscule on the beach of history.
But as a group, we are strong. You put many grains together and process them and you can make glass. A wondrous thing to be made from something so small.
Let me explain. Alone Voldemort was just some mad man trying to get somewhere. But with his Death Eaters in toe, he could form a cruel kingdom.
Albus Dumbledore, he was raised to fame through the help of his friends such as the Professors of Hogwarts, the Order of the Phoenix and Nicholas Flamel.
Harry potter. He was brought to fame through the sacrifice of his parents. Then by the intervention of Dumbledore. He survived such adventures like the philosophers stone and the Chamber of Secrets with the help of his friends. Then with Sirus' help he discovered the truth about his parent's death. He was helped through the trials of the wizard cup in fourth year by Dobby, Ron and Hermione.
But few could help him after that. He pushed them away. He saw them as grains of sand and he pitied them. But through this vision did he see the down fall to Voldemort. Sand can move! Like in sand dunes, it can shift. If Voldemort gained his power from the rise of supporters, then that could be his downfall. Push the base of a dune hard enough and anything on top falls.
So on that fateful day he aimed for the followers. He brought them down and as predicted, Voldemort fell. The final battle was that of a clash. Two great rocks had finally collided. They each wore each other down so they were the grains, then dust. As they both fell, the dust was blown away. Few cared to remember the sacrifice, for one day every rock becomes the grains of forgotten sand that people trod on to forget their own problems.
So remember when you're walking on a beach, to think of the sand you walk on to escape your own problems. They are all important; with out them the relaxing cannot be possible. Remember to watch the rocks, because they form the sand. Yet they too are eventually forgotten and the sand once on top, is now pushed under by the new generation. The history formed by the sand is covered and forgotten.
Remember them as they sacrifice what they live for to form the glass that hides the reality. We are nothing but dust in the wind eventually, and you too shall be forgotten, no matter what you do. History is forgotten and you too are either blown away as dust, no more the rock or the peaceful grain, but the worn down dust. Or you are buried by the ones you fathered or mothered.
Dare you forget the sacrifices these rocks and grains did for you? The glass is no longer there to hide the truth. Dare you turn your back?
Author notes: Please review and be kind. I was ill when I did this! I'm trying to get my other work posted but so far, no luck!
