Ron's Underpants

The following morning Ginny met Hermione at the Hogwarts gates.

"Sorry I'm late," laughed Hermione as Ginny looked at her watch in mock impatience.

They joined a group of fourth year Hufflepuffs who Ginny seemed to know but slipped away from the group as they entered Honeydukes. Turning towards Zonko's Hermione unrolled a piece of parchment.

"Operation G/D date?" read Ginny aloud.

"Yeah, it's a bit cheesy but the best I could come up with on such short notice!"

A drawling voice startled them as Draco appeared in front of them.

"So," he said with one raised eyebrow, "what have we hear? I do believe that Granger is actually 'scheming' and with Weaslett, how interesting." Stroking a non-existent beard Draco turned and sauntered down the road.

"God he's an arrogant sod!" Hermione said with a definite hint of annoyance in her voice.

"Hey!"

Ron came rushing over.

"I thought you said you weren't going to be here today?" he queried.

Hermione loved Ron, why Ginny just didn't understand. They spent the vast majority of their time together fighting, and Ginny realised that here they were at it again.

"Yeah well at least I can look out for myself, after all the whole school didn't see my underpants did they Undies?"

"That was below the belt." said Ron looking hurt.

"I'm sorry Ron" Hermione wilted at his sad face, "come and I'll by you a butterbeer."

They headed towards Madame Rosmerta's when Ginny yelled...

"Hermione! What about our plan?"

Hermione looked back over her shoulder.

"Just tell him how you feel! It'll be fine."

"Great! What the hell am I going to say? 'Oh Draco I'm so madly in love with you take me NOW'" Ginny said her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Oooo... Weaslett, you know I can't resist a challenge!" Draco pinned Ginny against the wall one hand at either side of her.

Initially Ginny blushed from ear to ear but a voice inside her head was screaming "Stop being an idiot and kiss him for Merlin's sake! His lips are mere inches from yours, GO FOR IT!"

Ginny took the voice's advice.

"Eww!" exclaimed Draco, "Weaslett what the hell...?" Draco wiped his moth while a disgusted expression spread over his face.

"What?" asked Ginny offended, "Am I that bad?"

"Err..." Draco looked at her a red tinge in his cheeks. Ashamed he pulled her down a small alleyway.

"Weaslett, I know we haven't exactly been the best of friends."

"And the understatement of the year award goes to..." said Ginny sarcastically.

"Ginny seriously," he began but a smile touched his lips.

"Oh, I'm Ginny now, this must be serious!"

"It is. Ginny can you keep a secret?"

"Yes I guess if it's that important then of course."

Draco turned his voice to a whisper.

"I'm a homosexual who's in love with Blaise."

"What? I didn't quite catch that."

"I love Blaise, I'm a homosexual!!"

Ginny's jaw hit the floor.

"WHAT? YOU'RE GAY?"

"Ginny keep your voice down I don't want everyone to hear!" Draco's face wore a pained expression.

"It's just a bit of a shock Draco. Since when? I mean why did you do that with Hermione if you were gay?"

"Homosexual! Gay sounds cheep, and that was just a dare."

Ginny's temper flared.

"A DARE? You almost ruined Hermione's life FOR A DARE?"

Draco shifted awkwardly in his shoes.

"It's not something I'm proud of..."

"But you still did it."

"I know but some people already thought I was gay and I couldn't have coped if the truth had leaked out. I'm sorry Ginny."

Ginny flopped on to the sofa and burst into tears. How could she be so stupid? The signs had all been there. Draco was gay. As she sat there tears burning her face Harry sat down next to her and put his arms around her. A new thought flashed across Ginny's mind. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all.
