A tall and thin young girl was walking up a cobblestone path towards an ominous looking silver gate from which a golden engraved sign hung which read as Riscowitch Manor. The young girl uttered “magnificentia fortitudo” and the great silver gate swung open to reveal a cobblestone path, which led up to a great white marble castle, which was the home of Mylee Riscowitch. Mylee who was an only child to her mother Constantine and her father Orwald. In this great castle there where many servants whom Mylee passed and greeted personally as she made her way to the great oak doors. The sky was clear and beautiful, which contrasted greatly with the way she felt which was dread. As she approached the great oak doors they swung open and she walked inside and the doors shut behind her. These doors where covered in intricately carved engravings of dragons and knights and flowers and vines. At least you thought that they where vines until you looked closely and saw that the “vines” weren’t vines at all but they where words that where written in very tiny loopy script which happened to be the family motto which read, “In death all life’s questions are answered.” In her opinion she never quite knew whether or not there was a hidden meaning, but she never had time to study the doors to closely because as soon as they opened just like today many servants approached her and pulled her up the great black marble stairs to her own private wing, past the tapestries of famous wizards and the great windows with red velvet drapes, past doors that led to the fencing room and the library and the likes or different staircases that went to different floors, and past one final door that she was never able to open no matter how hard she tried. When she entered her room her personal maid and good friend Clarice led her into the bathroom where she helped her into the great white marble tub that could have been mistaken for a small swimming pool, and told her what was expected of her for her birthday that evening.

Once again her parents where throwing another party where she was expected to attend except this time it was her birthday party. She would be fifteen and transferring to Hogwarts from Durmstang because her parents didn’t like the new head master.

“Mylee stop squirming,” Clarice begged.

“You know Clarice,” Mylee replied. “I can wash my own hair. You don’t have to stay.”

“But my lady, your parents command me to do these things for you.”

“I don’t care,” Mylee yelled, “if they commanded you to or not. You are my maid not there’s, therefore if I ask you to let me wash my own hair I should be able to do so, without their consent. After all they don’t take interest in my life. Why should they take interest in what I ask of my servants?”

“I’m sorry my lady, it was not my place.”

“No, I’m sorry Clarice. I’m just so mad. I vehemently despise these large parties, even if it is for me. They just enjoy showing me off like a prized trophy whom they only take off the mantel to dust when someone important is coming.” With that Mylee ducked underwater and Clarice went to finish setting up the grand parlor and make sure all the gifts went to the right table and such. After all, that girl had a sharp tongue and the temper to go with it.

Mylee came up from the bottom of the tub once she was sure Clarice had left her in peace. She grabbed the shampoo and squirted it out onto her head where she lathered it up and massaged it through her raven black straight hair. She rinsed out her hair and added the conditioner. Then she scrubbed herself with lavender smelling soap. Then she rinsed out her hair and climbed out of the tub and walked down the black marble stair and to the towel rack, which was pure gold and encrusted with sapphires. She walked over to the mirror where she grabbed her royal purple soft chenille robe. Then she wrapped her hair up into the towel and walked into her bedroom where she saw the habitual blue robes that Clarice had lain out with her and looked upon them with distain. She instead went into her giant closet where she hung up the blue robes and pulled out her golden robes with the sheer silver over robe, these where her favorite because they didn’t make her look like a vampire with unusually pale skin.

The fourteen-year-old girl pulled on her robes and pulled off her towel as she heard a knock on her door.

“Who is it?”

“Kathryn”

“Come in,” Mylee yelled.

Mylee’s best friend and cousin Kathryn who was more commonly known as Kat walked in. Kat was a red head who seemed to have a constant suntan. These two girls may have looked the same except for their hair and skin tone and one extreme difference which was never seen in the Riscowitch line, and that trait was Mylee’s bright red eyes which hadn’t been seen since the time of the founding fathers of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry which Mylee was transferring to at the end of this month. Godric Gryffindor, his sister had these same eyes.

“Hello Kat. I like your robes.”

“Thank you.” Kat was dressed in robes of a very rich blue that seemed to sparkle, which were trimmed in gold.

“So is anyone downstairs yet,” Mylee asked.

“Yes actually. There is family and friends.”

“Well that’s obvious. I mean people.”

“Oh, well then the minister of magic is there, along with the Malfoy’s,” with that remark Mylee made a face. “The Misinsterk’s, the Syke’s, the Burman’s, the Rosewald’s, and many more that I am not acquainted with. Oh, and my dad, his sister is coming and she is bringing her family, and I almost forgot, the Dugman’s are coming.” At that remake Mylee’s head shot up from struggling with her silver stilettos and her eyes seemed to turn orange from sparkling so. “Let me guess. You want to see their son Blake don’t you?”

“Yes,” Mylee replied sheepishly. From what she had seen of him and knew of him from Clarice who used to work for the Dugman’s he was very cute, and nice, and funny. He was also as it turned out Kat’s third cousin so Kat knew him well enough.

“O.k. then, well come on, wave you wand and do your hair.”

“O.k. gosh I’m coming.” Mylee waved her wand and her hair spun up and was encrusted in gold before coming back down dry and swept off of her shoulders into an elegant bun with an exaggerated side part, the magical residue gone. “Done,” Mylee replied.

“Good, let’s go.”

Mylee and Kat made their way out of the door and down the hallway where Kat walked down a smaller staircase that led to the grand foyer where the party was being held while Mylee met her father at the grand staircase and made her way down the Grand Staircase. All eyes turned to her and she held her head up high and once she got to the bottom as was customary she took the first dance with her father then once the waltzing around the room with her father was over she snuck out to the balcony where she leaned against the rail and looked out onto the silver lake.

Chapter 1, Part Deux

Someone came up to the door that led to the balcony and admired the still, picturesque figure whose dress seemed to float and shimmer in the moonlight. She was looking out upon the lake. He approached her silently and leaned next to her on the rail…

“Hello Mylee.”

“How do you know my name?”

“Well it is your party isn’t it?”

“I’m not sure, how about you tell me.”

“Are you not enjoying yourself?”

“Honestly,” Mylee said as she turned around to look at him, he looked at her face and his eyes widened when he saw the color of her eyes. Though they didn’t make her look like a dark creature. Honestly he thought they complimented her features. “I’m not sure. This party probably isn’t even really for me. My parents are probably just using my birthday as an excuse to show off.” Mylee told the Ryan Philippe look alike. “I’m sorry but have I seen you before.”

“I don’t think so. I’m positive that if you had I would have remembered you by your eyes.”

“Oh,” Mylee replied as she looked at the floor.

“Hey, I didn’t say your eyes where a bad thing,” he told her as he lifted up her face. “I think they’re beautiful.”

“Thank you.”

“Just so you know my name is Blake,” the young man replied. Then he turned around and walked back into the party and disappeared into the crowd.

Mylee once again leaned against the rail and sighed as she felt another body come and lean next to her.

“Oh, good Blake, I was wondering where you went off to. I had something I needed to ask you.”

“I’m not Blake Mylee.”

Mylee turned around and saw indeed that it wasn’t Blake, but it was Draco Malfoy, her worst nightmare. She and Draco had known each other for quite some time. Although her family liked the Malfoy's very much Mylee didn’t like them at all. But Draco didn’t care of course, he still managed to find her, and if she knew him at all he would probably ask her to dance. He was a very good dancer, she would give him that, but she didn’t want to dance with him. But she had to and she knew it because protocol demanded it.

“I’ve heard rumors that you’re transferring to Hogwarts. Couldn’t stand to be without me for a whole year?”

“For your information Draco,” Mylee replied icily, “I can’t wait for the day when I will be without you for an eternity.”

“I hate to tell you this and ruin your plans for living without me but just so you know I don’t plan on going till you do.”

“Well then, when we both go I still will be able to live without you because while we both live together on this earth we definitely won’t be together in the afterlife.”

“I highly doubt that.”

“I don’t. I will enjoy watching you in the afterlife though not living with you.”

“So you will enjoy watching me from afar with yearning in your eyes. I didn’t think that was your manner.”

“No Malfoy it’s not. I will enjoy watching you burn in hell as I sit on a cloud in my robes of white,” and with that Mylee began to walk off, but Draco caught her by the arm.

“Come and dance with me,” Draco said.

“I hate protocol,” Mylee muttered under her breath as she let Draco lead her into the ballroom where the band had just picked up a waltz.

Chapter 1, Part Three

Draco and Mylee began to dance. He spun her out and back to him. Then he did it again but this time someone was there to take Mylee before she spun back to Draco.

“Hello Mylee,” Blake said.

“Hello,” she replied as he spun her out.

“So, do you enjoy that man’s company?”

“I wish he would rot in hell,” Mylee replied.

“Really, now why is that?”

“Because he’s an annoying, manipulative, revolting, disgusting, repulsive, nauseating, hideous, abhorrent, sordid, repugnant, detestable…”

“Whoa, hold on a second. I get the point. You don’t like him at all do you?”

“No I don’t,” Mylee stated.

“I can understand that. From what I know about him he seems exactly like you say he is. Just remind me not to get on your bad side at Hogwarts if I’m going to be called things like that.”

“You go to Hogwarts?”

“I’ve been attending Hogwarts since I was old enough.”

“What year are you in?”

“This year I’m in my sixth. Why?”

“Well I’m transferring there this coming Monday.”

“I didn’t know they let students in after September.”

“Well it’s November and I’m beginning there so I guess you can,” Mylee told him as they sat down on a bench outside in the courtyard.

“I haven’t told you happy birthday yet.”

“It’s o.k, I don’t mind,” Mylee told him as she leaned on his shoulder.

“What year will you be in,” he asked her.

“I’m going to be in my fifth.”

“Oh,” he replied.

Mylee sighed as he began rubbing her hair. She sat up suddenly as she heard the clock chime the hour. It was about midnight and time for the party to be winding down.

“What’s wrong,” he asked her.

“Nothing, I just thought I heard someone.” She was right. They heard someone calling for Blake. It was his mother Melissa Dugman.

“Oh Blake, there you are. I’ve been looking for you. It’s time to go. Happy birthday Mylee.”

“O.K. mom, I’ll be right there,” Blake told his mother.

His mother walked away back down the path towards the house and Blake helped Mylee up and they began to walk back towards the house. They arrived at the ballroom and began to say goodbye.

“Well I’ll see you at Hogwarts,” Mylee said.

“I’m sure you will,” he replied. Then he took her hand and kissed it then turned around and left.

Mylee said goodbye to all the guests and then returned to her room so she could get some sleep and be ready to pack in the morning.

Chapter 1, part four

The next few days passed without anything unusual. Mylee then arrived at Hogwarts and went upstairs to see Albus Dumbledore. He told her to place the sorting hat on her head and she was sorted into Gryffindor. Then she was told the password which was “pockswaddle”. Then she made her way to Gryffindor tower where she entered through the portrait of the fat lady and she made her way up to the fifth year’s dormitory.

“Hello, you must be Mylee. I’m Hermione Granger.”

“Hello, nice to meet you” Mylee replied as she sat down on her new bed.

“You must be tired,” Hermione said. “Tomorrow how about you come with me and you can meet my friends Harry and Ron.”

“O.k.,” Mylee replied as she took off her shoes and crawled into bed.

As soon as Mylee’s head hit the pillows she fell asleep and dreamed.

She was walking through her house towards a door and she heard voices ahead of her. She followed the voices down a staircase in her house, which she had never seen before and stopped hidden in the shadows.

“We’ve got to institute the plan now. We can’t wait much longer Godric, I fear he already knows.”

“He can’t know Mylee. There is no way he can, we’ve been to careful.”

“He has ways of knowing these things.”

“Not unless someone has told him Rowena.”

“He doesn’t need someone to tell him. He can find out these things on his own.”

“How do you know all these things Rowena unless you are working with him,” Godric asked.

“How could you think such a thing Godric?”

“Stop fighting,” Helga replied.

“Yes he might hear you,” Mylee replied.

“Where is he any way,” Godric asked.

“Where he is doesn’t matter, he has spies everywhere,” Rowena replied.

“Yes, and that’s why we have to be quiet,” Mylee said.

“We need to finish this orb before he comes back,” Helga said.

“We know that, but when will he be back,” Mylee asked.

But that question was never answered because at that moment the doors flew open and in walked Salazar Slytherin.

Mylee woke with a jolt and looked at her clock, which said that it was six thirty. Mylee got up and made her way to her dresser where she pulled on her robes and made her way down to the library where she found books on the founding fathers and snuck back upstairs and into the common room where she sat down and began to read.

Godric Gryffindor had a younger sister named Mylee Gryffindor who supposedly helped in the creation of the orb of dreams where she and Godric, Rowena, and Helga supposedly…

Mylee turned the page and found that the next page was missing from the book. It just went directly to talking about the history of the venomous tentactula.

“Well that’s odd.”

“What’s odd,” asked a boy with black hair that stuck out at all angles.

“This book. It just well stops.”

“Harry, have you seen my hat,” asked a tall red headed, freckle faced boy.

“I think it was under Neville’s bed.”

“Oh thanks.”

“You’re Harry potter aren’t you.”

“Yes.”

“I met your friend Hermione last night.”

“Oh you did. What’s you name?”

“Mylee, I just transferred here from Durmstang.”

“Oh.”

“Who was that?”

“That was my best friend Ron.” With that Hermione and Ron both came into the common room where Hermione sat on the couch next to Mylee.

“Good morning Mylee.”

“Same to you Hermione.”

“What are you reading?”

“I was trying to find out something on my dream.”

“What was your dream about,” Harry and Ron asked as they sat down in armchairs. Mylee persisted to tell them about her dream and when they where done they decided to meet up at the library during lunch to see if they could find up anymore on this supposed orb.

Chapter 1, part five

Mylee arrived at the library after transfiguration class and headed to the back table. She sat down and pulled out her books and began to start on her transfiguration homework and began to work. She was reading up on transfiguring fabrics into furniture when in walked Harry, Ron, and Hermione who sat around her at the table. Mylee looked up at them and her mouth dropped open when she saw all the books that Hermione had brought with her.

“But we didn’t get that much homework,” Mylee said.

“Oh this isn’t homework,” Hermione told her “this is just books on the founding fathers, and Mylee Gryffindor.”

“Do we have to read all of those?”

“No, I’m reading these. There’s a whole section on the founding fathers. You, Harry, and Ron all have to go to that section over there and get some books on them.”

Harry just looked at Hermione in shock and Ron spit out his pumpkin juice all over the floor. Hermione just looked at Ron with a look of disgust on her face and waved her wand and the spot disappeared.

Mylee, Ron, and Harry got up and headed into the depths of the library where Mylee headed into the section on orbs, while Ron and Harry went into the section on the founding fathers. Ten minutes later they all arrived back at the table with books in hand. Ron picked up a book from the top of his pile called Family of the Founding Fathers and Harry who seemed to be tackling the smallest books first picked up a book called The Younger Gryffindor: A History of the Life of Mylee Gryffindor and Mylee began a book on orbs called Orbs for Dummies.

“Well would you look at this, the three musketeers are now quartet.”

“Hello Draco, long time no see,” Mylee told him.

“Did you miss me,” Draco replied as he pulled up a chair and straddled it.

“No, not really.”

“Guess who’s getting stuck at Riscowitch manor this Christmas.”

“No.”

“Yes. By Mylee see you around,” and with that Draco swept out of the library where he met Crabbe and Goyle at the door.

“You poor poor child,” Ron told her while shaking his head.

“Does anyone here actually see the bright side in this,” Hermione asked.

“There actually is a bright side to all this,” Mylee asked.

“Yes there is. I don’t think anyone in this school knows more about dark objects than Snape and Dumbledore except Malfoy. So while he’s at your house you can ask him about the orb.”

“I found it,” Ron yelled.

“Read it aloud,” they all yelled.

“O.K. then. Mylee Gryffindor, Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Helga Huffelpuff all created what is now known as the orb of dreams. The orb is now in the National Wizards Museum in London England. Though no one knows what the purpose of this orb is it is believed to be a dark object.”

“That’s it,” Harry asked.

“What do you mean that’s it. That’s a whole lot,” Ron replied.

“Well the question is what does this help us with,” Harry asked.

“Well isn’t it obvious,” Hermione said.

“Yes, we need to go to the museum,” Mylee replied.

“Great and how do you suppose we do that,” Harry asked.

“Well Christmas break is in a couple of weeks so we could go then,” Mylee replied.

“Do you think we should wait that long, I mean what if this dream actually means something, like you need to remember something important from the past,” Hermione asked.

“I don’t know,” Mylee replied.

“Well come on we need to get to class,” Harry said as he got up.

So they all headed off to potions.

Chapter 1, Part Six

After dinner Mylee went back to the library to see if she could find out more, even though she highly doubted it. She was right and she didn’t find anything so she finished off her homework and headed to bed where she fell asleep and dreamed.

She was in the present time and was in some sort of castle that she had never seen before. She saw a wizard clothed in green talking to another wizard who looked vaguely familiar from the back. He turned around and appeared to be Voldemort.

“Salazar,” voldedmort said, “I have been waiting for you.”

“Tell me of our progress so far, how far along is my plan?”

“The plan is beginning to be implicated. We are searching for a way to enter the manor undetected. Then we can begin searching.”

“Why are we still looking for a way in? That part was supposed to be completed months ago.”

“The other founders, they know something. The old wards have been activated around the manor. We need to find a way to get past them.”

“That should not be a problem. There is something you are not telling me. Something you know, that I should know to. What is it?”

“Nothing my lord. I am hiding nothing.”

“Be that as it may, there is something amiss with our perfect plan. Go now, the potion needs your tending.”

“Yes my lord,” Voldemort replied. Then he backed out of the room.

Salazar Slytherin leaned against the window frame and looked out upon the gray plane. The clouds where low and the rain was making the creek rise. “The girl, we must get the girl, and soon.”

how do you like it? I think it’s good. I would like to thank my family for putting up with my infernal typing and therefore delaying dinner, and anyone who would like to contact me you can do so at [email protected]thank you and have a very nice day.
