Slytherin Forever! - Love's Sacrifice
Chapter Two: Jessi And Teggie
~*~
"Taigan met Jessica Gryffindor when they both were seven years old. Their fathers, Salazar and Godric, had left the castle in order to search for somebody who could teach Astronomy and the two girls met at the bottom of the large marble staircase.
Jessica was a pretty girl, with dark curls framing her small face and brown eyes looking at the word curiously, but she was nowhere near as beautiful as Taigan who had long blonde hair (even at that young age) and questioning, large green eyes.
Yet the two girls became friends immediately..."
"Hello there," the girl greeted friendly.
Taigan looked up in surprise as she heard an unfamiliar voice speak to her, but she smiled as she saw that it was someone who seemed to be around her own age.
"Good day," Taigan greeted back cheerfully. "Who are you?"
"I am known among the people here as Jessica Gryffindor, though you may call me Jessi," the girl laughed. "And what is your given name?"
"My name is Taigan Slytherin," Taigan replied. "And you are probably the daughter of Godric... or am I wrong?"
"No, you are correct," the girl giggled. "And you must be the daughter of Salazar. Funny, he always seemed so grumpy whenever he came to visit. It is hard for me to believe that you are actually related to him!"
"My father can be quite grumpy, yes," Taigan nodded vigorously. "And so can I! Beware of the Slytherins and their idiotic faces..."
She jumped up and down, making a funny face to emphasize her point. Jessica giggled again and began to jump along shortly afterwards. When the girls finally stopped they were slightly out of breath so they seated themselves on the stairs.
"My mother always said that you were pretty spoilt," Jessica said thoughtfully.
"My mother always said that you were too wild," Taigan retaliated.
"My father said that you were remotely crazy," Jessica said again.
"My father said that all Gryffindors are the same: idiots," Taigan grinned.
"I guess that such a thing is true," Jessica smiled.
"Guessed correctly!" Taigan yelled.
They both burst out laughing at that point, knowing that they were probably the only people present in this part of the castle right now. They were wrong.
"Jessi? Teggie?" Rowena Ravenclaw asked in surprise. "What are you doing here girls? And together as well... come on, back to your rooms!"
"Rowe, please do not tell my father about this," Taigan pleaded. "He is going to kill me if he knows..."
"Consider it done," Rowena said with a smile. "Now come, I have to give your mother something important..."
"Salazar and Godric eventually found out about it. What surprised everyone was that they actually encouraged their children to befriend each other instead of telling them to stay away from one another like Taigan and Jessica had originally thought.
When Taigan started to become friends with Jored and Josselin after she had met them, things changed drastically for the two girls. They were not allowed to see each other that frequently as they once had - rumors tell us that Godric did not want Jessica to be seen around Jored and Josselin, though this has never been proved - and the girls were kept apart most of the time.
I say most of the time, for sometimes Jessica came out on the grounds when Taigan was there too. The most memorable thing that happened then was Jessica's first meeting with the twins, who had heard all about her but had never seen her before, when Jessica had just turned twelve..."
"There is Jessi!" Taigan shouted and waved at her friend. "Jess, come over here for a minute!"
"A slow beating heart might save you someday," Josselin murmured and Taigan glared at him. "Relax a bit, kitten, she has heard you already."
"What is it?" Jessica asked as she finally reached Taigan and the twins. "Who are these people, Tegg?"
"This is Jored and that is Josselin," Taigan smiled. "They live here on the grounds. I am surprised that you have never met them yet."
"And I am surprised that I have not heard of them yet," Jessica remarked dryly, "seeing as you seem to know them pretty well."
Taigan looked only slightly embarrassed but soon recovered and said:
"Father obviously did not want me to tell you. He was already angry with me for ever meeting them, I did not want to upset him further."
"And that is something that is, of course, fully understandable," Jored remarked. "It is nice to meet you, Jessica."
Jessica looked at him with a kind look in her eyes, and he liked the slender girl immediately. She, on the other hand and beneath that cool exterior, was quite scared. Both boys, after all, had Taigan's eyes and Salazar's build, and she understood within mere seconds what Salazar had tried to and succeeded to keep from his daughter. Befriending the two boys might be the last thing both of their fathers wanted her to do, but somehow she wanted to see for herself if they were anything like her best friend.
"It is nice to meet you too," Jessica finally replied. "Tegg, I cannot believe that you have not told me about these friendly people before!"
"I told you I could not do that," Taigan whispered in her ear. "Besides, you shall always be my best friend so there is nothing to be worried about..."
"There was, however, reason to worry some three years later. Taigan and Jessica, despite their desperate attempts not to do so, had fallen in love with the twins.
When Taigan finally confessed to Jessica how she felt about Josselin the only thing the other girl could do was stare at her friend in wonder. Salazar was still neglecting to tell Taigan certain things she definitely needed to know and Jessica was not about to tell her friend everything either... but Taigan could not possibly fall in love with her own brother!
When she told Jored about her concerns - Jessica had told him that she knew that the twins were Taigan's brothers months before - the only thing he could do was stare at her and try to comprehend what impact this would have on their lives.
The love was present... but the impossibility of it all was going to make it very difficult indeed..."
