Slytherin Forever! - Love's Sacrifice
Prologue - Kathryn's Words
~*~
"Today a new power is rising and the foundations for the final battle are being laid... within Hogwarts but also within the ranks of its enemies... waiting for the arrival of the one who shall make a difference... for all shall be lost if the Dark Lords can rule this world without having any opponents to worry about.
Many things have been said about the Slytherins in the past. Good things, like their ability to see right through lies and deceit. Bad things, like their terrible ambitions and stuck-up families. Yet all agree on one thing: they have never really belonged within Hogwarts.
Now this agreement is going to be clearer than ever as the other Houses unite to stand against the evil of two Dark Wizards and the Slytherins are left out of play. Grindelwald and Lord Voldemort are the names of those who shall reduce their own House to nothing but dust and ashes, forsaking their beliefs and their forefathers' never-ending battle against an ancient denomination called the Vayaen.
But first of all there is a tale to be told, other than the one of the Heiress of Slytherin, which is of great importance. Sacrifices have to be made sometimes but they are not always easy. The most difficult ones are those that are made for love and because of love... and that is exactly what this tale is about...
Let me take you back to where it all started. Let me tell you about the things you have already witnessed briefly but never knew more about them... Let me guide you through an epic story that involves all of the generations that came after Salazar Slytherin himself, right back to the first days and then back to our time, so that you finally understand how the Slytherins came into being...
The first generation consists of Taigan, Jored, and Josselin. You shall meet the daughter and sons of Salazar, see the children of doom struggled to claim their birthrights after their exile... but never pity them... for it was their own choice.
After the three children there was only one who could carry the fate of Slytherin's kin, condemned to it by the Vayaen. Desdemona Slytherin, with Slytherin blood ties flowing through both her father and mother, did not even know where her life began and where it ended.
Generations came after her, all unknowing about the future, until one day when Gwendolyn Williams, born a Slytherin, met a Muggle called Tom Riddle. Her life would be marked by her choice for the rest of her life. She died giving birth to her son who would be known as Tom Marvolo.
Tom Marvolo Riddle met Laura Seideira, and the lives of thousands were destroyed. At her death he became the first Heir to turn evil. He became Lord Voldemort.
Then there was a generation that was not linked through blood to Salazar, but through their actions and great deeds. I believe that people call them 'the lost generation' nowadays. The members of that generation still live today and have helped the Heiress before.
And finally there is Virginia Weasley, child of Tom Marvolo, raised in a family consisting of nothing but Gryffindors. Her tale is told in another story and shall not be included here.
You know much about the Slytherins already; I see it in your eyes. Are you ready to learn more? Shall you, perhaps, change your judgement about them when I have finished my tale? Will you speak of this tale for the rest of your life, or shall you remain silent and keep it in the back of your mind?
I hope that you shall do what seems right to you. Choices have to be made even if they are not the ones you had hoped for. Now, I shall not dwell on these matters anymore. It is time for me to begin my tale..."
The dark-haired girl leaned back comfortably in her chair and looked at her audience that was paying rapt attention to her words. A hint of a smile was visible on her face but she did not show it completely. She had never done that. Her green eyes flickered around the room briefly before she pointed at a portrait that was hanging on the left wall.
"That is Taigan Slytherin," she said softly. "We shall begin with her."
