Silver & Cold
Chapter Two
First Encounter
Stupid Crabbe and Goyle, all they know how to do is stuff themselves. Can't wait 'til they bloody explode. Bird-brained, the both of them. Disgusting... eww! They can't even eat properly.
Draco was turning a sickly shade of yellow as he remembered Crabbe and Goyle's faces as they gorged their appetite.
I just had to get away before I had an anxiety attack. Uggh, I need fresh air! Hmm... maybe I'll go for a ride on my broomstick. Draco needed to clear his mind of the mental images of Crabbe and Goyle.
He was heading to the Slytherin dormitories, when he caught sight of Hermione running to the library.
"The big beaver has a date with a book. Aww, how pathetic. Filthy Mudblood!" Malfoy said with disgust.
Draco was rounding the corner when he body slammed with a whirlwind of old rags and long red hair.
He landed on the floor, but quickly got up pushing back his platinum locks.
"Watch where you're going, dimwit!" Malfoy spat while slowly meeting his offender's eyes, who was now standing. He raised an arched brow.
"Of course, it takes a Weasley to be so stupid!" Malfoy said, finishing with his trademark smirk.
"Shut it, sewer mouth!" Ginny viciously retaliated. Malfoy was taken aback, but showed no signs. Instead, he gave Ginny a cold stare and quickly walked on.
How can he say so much with one frigid look? Those pale eyes. Ginny thought, frowning.
The youngest Weasley stood in the same spot for a few moments, exactly as Malfoy had left her. Luna Lovegood passed by and snapped her back to reality with her hideous lime-green fur hat. Ginny decided, against her fashion sense, to approach her.
"What's the occasion?" Ginny asked, eying Luna's elaborate fashion statement.
"It's Fwooper's Day," Luna said flatly.
"Since when?" Ginny asked curiously.
"Since today." Luna was a mystery box full of surprises. She always seemed to lighten Ginny's day, even if Luna hardly noticed.
Ginny and Luna were sitting under a tree on the castle grounds. Luna was busy reading a copy of The Quibbler. Across from Luna, Ginny sat with her potion book open on her lap. She had an apprehensive look on her face. She glanced over at the Quidditch pitch. There he was, in all his glory, the Slytherin seeker zooming on his Nimbus 2001. He is good, but not as good as Harry. Ginny thought while smiling. She was in a daze as she gazed at him zigzag in the air.
Those pale eyes. She recalled with a ting of derision and awe.
Whenever Malfoy launched a cold stare at her, she always had the same aftermath. An icy shiver ran down her spine. Don't be ridiculous, Ginerva Weasley. Ginny brushed her thoughts away with a swift shake of her head. He's a Malfoy, and you're a Weasley. He'd never look at you without disgust. She glanced back at Draco, for one last time. He was now talking to the Slytherin team captain, and at Draco's side stood an enamored Pansy Parkinson, gazing at Draco with wonder.

Back at the castle, Hermione had emerged herself in a comfortable oversized leather chair. She was intently reading the journal she found early this morning.
October 21,19----
I can't believe I'm doing so bad in Potions class that Professor Almodovar set up a meeting to discuss my marks and the possibility of tutoring.
Tutoring! No way! This never happened to me...I can't.
ANYWAY!
So yeah, I was on my way to Almodovar's office down in the dungoe dungeons. I knocked on the massive office doors.
"Come in," said a deep masculine voice.
Professor Almodovar is so sexy--that deep sensual voice melts me away. Oddly enough, as I entered the dimly lit office, my knees felt like melted butter as I realized that Professor Almodovar was not alone.
I flashed a glance at the dark figure seated opposite the Professor's desk. His greasy black hair covered his pale face like a widow's veil pierced by his pointy nose.
Severus Snape!
No way! Well if it's Mr. I don't-like-to-associate-with-anyone-or-anything-that-closely-resembles-a-human being, and least of all girls. Sometimes I wonder if he is...hmm.
"Please Miss Evans," Professor Almodovar motioned to the empty armchair next to Snape.
"Yes sexy!"
Of course, I didn't say that aloud, instead, I gave him a courteous nod.
I sank in the armchair dreading what the Professor would say. He cleared his throat with a soft cough. Oh, so formal!
"Miss Evans, we're here," Almodovar threw a quick glance at Snape before setting his gorgeous green eyes on me. *Hehee* "to discuss your poor performance in my class." *Ouch, poor performance, nice way of saying 'You're failing!'*
"If there's a personal issue with me that I am not aware of...." Almodovar trailed off--it was his custom.
He eyed me, patiently waiting for an answer. "No! Uhm, no Professor, nothing personal. Positive." I couldn't even speak properly whenever he stared at me.
"Well, then..." *Yeah, bad habit. *
"I guess I'm not dedicating sufficient time nor studying properly," I suggested.
"Yes, that's what I thought. Well, the first step towards correcting your problem is to assign you a tutor. Mister Snape has kindly volunteered to help you."
Aww, how sweet.
When Professor Almodovar said the word 'volunteer,' I saw Snape twitch his facial muscles into a nasty expression of utter disgust.
Oh boy! Hell is awaiting me.
Professor Almodovar got up and with a swish of his wand, two parchments appeared on his desk. He handed each of us a parchment. "These are your available sessions, which will take place in the assigned classroom--all the information is on the paper. All you two need to do is agree on which session to attend, at your convenience."
"Any questions?" Snape and I shook our heads.
"Very well, you both may leave...Oh, yes, Mr. Snape, you must report Miss Evans' progress by the end of each week." Snape gave the Professor a solemn nod.
"Good night Professor," I said, flashing a smile.
"Same, Miss Evans." I heard Snape growl something along the lines of, 'Pathetic suck up.'
Snape stormed out of the office, while I followed. I had to ask Snape a burning question, even if he would surely bite my head off.
"Snape," I called out. The man can take huge strides.
"What do you want, Miss Evans," Snape barked.
He turned so swiftly and gracefully, I thought all everything had turned gone in slow motion.
ANYWAYS!
I approached him; he definitely does not intimidate me. "Yes," he said flatly. His cold and dark eyes contrasted his pale rough skin.
"Did you actually volunteer, Snape?" Why did I ask this question if I already knew the answer? *Stupid! *
"Miss Evans, clearly my idea of wasting my time does not involve volunteering to help those less fortunate than myself." With another swift turn, Snape marched on. I was speechless. I stared blankly at the floor...I knew Snape was anti-social, but obviously he was also cruel.
-L.E.
Could this 'Miss Evans' be Lily Evans--Harry's mum? Oh my gosh, if I'm right then I must give Harry this journal! Harry has to read it! Hermione thought.
However, Harry would have to wait until she finished reading the journal. Hermione's curiosity was growing.
