- Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts begins with Draco taking an opportunity to make life difficult for Harry. But no one appreciates just how effective it has been, having the unintended side-effect of prompting Harry to question his sexuality. Unable to confide in his friends, Harry begins to feel pushed aside as Ron and Hermione start dating and only seem to have eyes for each other. At the same time that Harry becomes more estranged from his friends, he notices that Draco's behaviour has changed dramatically since the Christmas holiday. This piques Harry's curiosity and prompts him to get involved in Draco's life in an unanticipated way.

Chapter 02
12/15/2004Harry's luck improves, but life is still no picnic. Resuming his Occlumency lessons, trouble at Hogsmeade, an encouter with Oliver Wood when there is no bad luck to blame and gossip about Death Eaters are all on the agenda.
Chapter 03
12/16/2004Harry's friends continue to pester him over who he intends to ask to the ball. Luckily for Harry, an unexpected offer turns up that puts a stop to all the questioning. On the night of the ball, Dean's actions leave Harry wanting to tell Ron about his feelings towards Oliver Wood, but it's clear that Ron wouldn't appreciate the admission at that point in time. Needing to talk to someone, Harry turns to Professor Lupin instead.
Chapter 04
12/19/2004Pig mysteriously disappears at the end of term. During the Christmas holidays, a burglary occurs, the details of which is hushed up by the Ministry, and then the Death Eaters escape from Azkaban, which Harry believes might be the cause of his scar playing up a few days later.
Chapter 05
12/22/2004Harry finds out what has happened to Malfoy just before he is due to leave Hogwarts. Not wanting Malfoy to join the ranks of the enemy, Harry persuades him to stay and to go to Dumbledore for help, but Malfoy is insistent that Harry keeps it a secret from Ron and Hermione.
Chapter 06
12/22/2004As he remains distanced from Ron and Hermione, Harry begins to share more and more of himself with Malfoy.
Chapter 07
12/24/2004Malfoy stops Harry for a talk, and Harry assumes that he only wants to gloat. Harry later offends the other Gryffindors by questioning how much they should be trusting Millicent. Snape overhears Luna chatting to Harry, and the news of this sends Malfoy into a panic. And another animal disappears; this time it's Crookshanks.
Chapter 08
01/02/2005Harry and Malfoy continue to enjoy their newfound closeness while Professor Snape does his best to keep their time together to a minimum. More research is carried out in the library regarding the missing animals, but it doesn't seem to provide any answers. Lives are put at risk during Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Trevor turns up when Harry and Malfoy are having one of their secret rendezvous.
Chapter 09
01/05/2005Owl post brings an unwanted message for Draco, causing a rift between Harry and his friends. Crookshanks is found, and both Hermione and Draco are pulled out of class because of this.
Chapter 10
01/12/2005Hermione returns with news of Crookshanks, but there is no sign of Malfoy. Becoming increasingly worried, Harry takes it upon himself to do a little investigating.
