Harry and His Most Strange Year

~~Prologue~~

Albus Dumbledore sat waiting on a reply from a dear friend. He had written and asked her to fill the Defense post at the school. He was also debating on weather he should write Harry Potter and ask him for a meeting. Albus knew once school started again he would have a huge explanation to give to Harry and Hannah Roland, the daughter of his friend to whom he had written. Before he could debate any more on if he should write Harry, an owl came into the office and perched itself on the desk. Albus untied the note, unrolled it and began to read.

Dear Albus,

I would love to take the job, but I do not know if it is wise considering Harry will be there along with Hannah. Granted, they would most likely be in the same house considering both James and Lily were and that could be good or bad. We have kept this from them both for so long I am not sure if throwing them together without the full story would be good for them. Especially for Harry and what he has already gone through. I will accept the job and leave these thoughts to you since I know you are also thinking along the same lines. Have a good rest of summer!

Albus sighed. Yes, he was thinking along the same lines. He picked up a piece of parchment and wrote a response to Her. When he was finished he read it over.

Dear Jessica,

I thank you for accepting this job. Do not worry about Harry and Hannah. I am going to call them up to my office the second week of school and tell them. Hopefully they will not meet before or find out before this. I pray that we can hold off a little longer and can arrange to have you and Remus both here when we tell them both. If they meet before or find out before we meet with them, one will come to you or me. I will handle it do not worry. And may I suggest staying at Arabella's till September 1? It's a lot closer to London and the Leaky Cauldron is full to the brim, according to Tom.

He tied the letter to the owl and sent it off again sincerely hoping that their secret would not be found until the right time. Just then, Minerva McGonagall entered the office and sat at her desk watching her friend from the back.

"Don't worry Albus. They had to find out sooner or later. Why not now?" she said, hoping to get the full story herself. She knew some of it but not all.

"My dear Minerva, do you really think that after thinking he was the only living one left from that horrible night he will just accept there is someone else also? Not only is he not alone, but also he never knew? That WE knew and never told him? I do not think that will sit very will with him do you?" Albus went to his own desk and sat behind it sighing.

"No, but Albus, I don't even know the full story of what happened. How did she survive? Why didn't we know about her?"

He looked her in the eye. "The prophecy said a boy in July and there were two... Harry and Neville..." He continued to tell Minerva the whole story and when he finished she looked at him with wide eyes.

"I can't believe I didn't figure it out 16 years ago. Even when I saw her in the hospital I didn't think..." she trailed off and met the eyes of Dumbledore.

"Now you see my dilemma?" he asked softly.

Slowly, Minerva nodded "I do."
