Myrtle the Matchmaker

A/N Most stuff in italics is what a voice in Myrtle's head says, except for when she is thinking. The things in bold, italics are where she is replying to the voice in her head.

Chapter 1:

Her stomach jumping with excitement, Myrtle paused before walking through the door of her bathroom.

She hardly left the comforting, if you could call it that, room of her bathroom. She rethought everything. Helping these two would certainly mean leaving the bathroom, but she would return back as soon as she could.

Just do it Myrtle! What have you got to lose, a voice in the back of hear head said.

Maybe I just don't want to. I have practically stayed here since my deathday, why leave now? Myrtle replied to the voice.

That's right Myrtle. You have been here since you were a girl at Hogwarts. You haven't lived! So I say go out there and live, even if you are dead!

"You're right," Myrtle replied aloud to herself. "I should be given a chance to do what I want."

She hesitated no longer, and walked through the door, entering the empty corridor.

Myrtle let out a sigh of relief and beamed with accomplishment.

"Now to get started," she said, rubbing her hands together in anticipation.

Myrtle walked over to the section of the deserted library that she knew well. The section that she spent hours poring over the pages of the books.

This was the section that a very few students knew about. The books had centimeters of dust piled on top of them.

This was the section that listed every student that ever attended Hogwarts and gave information about them. These books were updated every year as students received haircuts, new students came to join Hogwarts, and when they would become prefects.

Myrtle ran her fingers over the many volumes, looking for the one of this year.

1997

She hastily pulled the book from the shelf and flipped through the pages. She stared at each picture, seeing if it matched either of the two students who had come in the bathroom.

It was unfortunate that she did not know their names because it she would have to search through the book, checking every picture. She remembered them shouting their names at each other, but being forgetful, she could no longer remember their names.

She went through Stewart Ackerley, Owen Cauldwell, Padma Patil, and some others when she found the boy.

The picture looked exactly like him.

"This must be him," Myrtle muttered to herself.

Draco Malfoy

Age: 16

Born: 1980

Description: Icy blonde hair, dark sneer, pale complexion, smug features, gray eyes

Quidditch team position: Slytherin Seeker BOUGHT HIS WAY ON!

Myrtle stared at the place where a student had made a mark on this book. Below that she say the initials R.W. So maybe some students did read in this section.

She stared at the picture. There was the boy, Draco, sneering back at her. He looked so much like...

Myrtle shook her head. Her mind could not wander to what had happened in the past! She had to concentrate on finding the second one who was in her bathroom.

She flipped through the book once again until she came to the Weasleys. She looked at Ron, who had come in closely resembled him.

Myrtle flipped back some pages, coming to a page that was stuck together to George Weasley. She unstuck the two pages.

"Ginny Weasley," she read.

Ginny smiled, beaming greatly, in the picture back up at Myrtle. Myrtle took the book with her since Madam Pince wasn't there to see her, and she left the library to head back to her bathroom. There, she would form a plan.
