A Dream Comes True

Chapter one

Harry's secret

Harry Potter was sitting on a large armchair in the Gryffindor common room. He was desperately trying to read for the Transfiguration exam. It wasn't easy, though. There were many things Harry had never even heard about before. This was because of him being in the hospital wing for the two last weeks. He had been at Quidditch practise, when suddenly he got pushed off his broom by none other, than Draco Malfoy. Apparently, Draco thought this would have been funny to just get on his broom, fly towards Harry and push him off... Harry had broken his bones and madam Pomfrey insisted on Harry staying a bit longer - in fact, 12 days longer...

Suddenly the Gryffindor common room door opened. Ron walked in and was actually singing. Harry jumped at this and fell off the armchair.

"Harry, you OK?" asked Ron, now looking a little worried.

"What were doing just a minute ago?" asked Harry sitting on the floor, with the Transfiguration book lying open next to him.

Ron looked really embarrassed now and his face turned so red that you couldn't make out where his hair began and where his forehead ended.

"Oh, sorry... I didn't think you would notice," said Ron.

Harry stood up and walked towards Ron. His face looked very serious. His eyes narrowed and he looked at Ron suspiciously.

"Ron, why didn't you tell me? We've known each other for six years now. All this time you kept it a secret from me."

Now Ron didn't know what to think. His hand shook a little. Ron thought he had upset Harry by his singing. He looked around, and there was no one else in the common room. All Ron could think about right then, was what if Harry beat him up now? Ron never knew Harry hated singing so much. It had actually come as a shock to him. Wasn't it just yesterday, when Harry himself was also singing?

"Oh, Harry! I'm so sorry! I'm so, so sorry! I never meant to offend you or anything! Please, forgive me! It was Draco's fault! He put a spell on me, and I just... couldn't help myself. Please, Harry, you must understand me." Ron was now clinging onto Harry's robes. He thought that if he really pissed Harry off that much, he might as well apologize properly.

Ron looked up at Harry. He noticed Harry was smiling. Ron straightened his back now and was very confused.

Harry took hold of Ron's hands, and said, "You daft fool! I'm not angry at you! To be honest, I'm extremely pleased."

"What are you talking about? Harry, I know you, and just a minute ago you were angry."

Before Harry had the chance to answer the door opened again and this time it was Hermione and Seamus that walked in. They greeted Harry and Ron and sat down on a couch and began to ask each other questions from Transfiguration.

"Harry, what is going on?" asked Ron.

Now it was Harry's turn to look embarrassed. His face, like Ron's also went red. Hermione lifted her face from her notes. Seamus was still staring at Hermione. Everyone knew he had a crush on her and Hermione couldn't help feeling flattered so she hung out with Seamus a lot these days. Actually, she only hung out with Seamus because it made her feel special.

"Ron, not now," said Harry, trying to shut Ron up.

"What is it? Harry, are you alright?" asked Hermione, with great curiosity.

"Come on, Harry tell us. Otherwise, I'm going to beat it out of you," said Ron, slightly grinning.

"Fine then," said Harry after a long pause. He took a deep breath and walked into the middle of the common room. Harry took another deep breath then began to talk, "I've never told any of you this because I was embarrassed. There's nothing more in this world that I love more, than singing."

Hermione, Ron and in the end Seamus too exchanged looks. This, Harry had definitely never told them before. None of them had ever even heard Harry singing. Only Ron yesterday but he thought Harry was singing because of a good Quidditch match against Slytherin.

"Go on," said Hermione, interested to hear more.

"Today, when I heard Ron singing, I noticed he had quite a good voice," Ron went red again, "I realised something. If there are two wizards that are both good at singing, what would you guys do?" asked Harry looking at each of them.

Seamus, finally detached his eyes completely from Hermione, and said with a grin on his face, "Make a boy band!" He, Ron and Hermione all laughed out loud. Soon Hermione noticed Harry wasn't laughing. She stood up and walked towards Harry.

"You want to, don't you?" asked Hermione. It seemed that Harry was the only, who knew what Hermione was talking about because he nodded slowly. Hermione gave Harry a big hug.

Soon, Ron understood what was going on. He looked at Harry for a long time without saying a word. After a long silence someone begun to sing. It was Seamus. Harry got the biggest smile on his face he had in ages.

"Seamus, you can sing too!" Harry shouted, with great excitement.

Seamus looked at Harry with a bored look, "Yeah, so what?"

Ron rolled his eyes. "Haven't you listened to a word? Harry wants to make a boy band! Now that he knows you and I can sing he wants us to be the other members. That's what you meant wasn't it, Harry?"

Harry stared at Seamus and Ron, still smiling. His face said it all. It had boy band written all over it. The heavenly feeling Harry had soon ended, with Hermione sniggering next to him.

"What is it?" asked Harry, his smile fading.

"Well, it's just... Harry Potter, the one person that survived after facing Voldemort, - in a boy band? It's just so... dumb, in a way. Sorry, Harry. I mean the idea is very nice but..." Hermione couldn't hold it anymore. She burst out laughing so hard that she had to sit down, and she had happy tears streaming down her face. Now, Ron too dared to give another laugh.

Harry stood there feeling helpless. Even his best friends didn't like the idea that he had had as his dream, since his second year at Hogwarts.

"Fine then, all of you can laugh your heads off. I'll show you, though! One day, I shall be in Witch Weekly advertising my concert in Hogsmeade. One day, I shall beat Gilderoy Lockhart's best smile record. You'll see." Thos were Harry's last words as he stepped out of the common room.

Hermione slowly stopped laughing. She looked at Ron, who was still rolling on the floor, laughing and she looked at Seamus, who was jumping on the couch, pretending to be singing in a boy band, with his eyes closed. Hermione stood up and waited for Ron and Seamus to stop. Soon Ron lifted his head and noticed. Seamus finally opened his eyes and sat down, looking a little embarrassed.

"You two should be ashamed of yourselves!" said Hermione in a loud voice.

"Hermione, if you happened to notice, you were the one that started laughing!" said Ron.

"Yes but it didn't mean the two of you should have also begun to laugh and hurt Harry's feelings. I'm going after him. Meanwhile, you two can think about what you have done." Hermione walked out of the common room through the round door. Her words had no affect on Ron and Seamus because after she left they burst out laughing again.

Chapter two

The amazing breakthrough

Hermione ran around the school looking for Harry. So far she hadn't seen him anywhere. She was beginning to get a little worried. Usually if Harry was angry, he'd be at the library. He hadn't been there, though. Hermione ran outside and finally thought of the Quidditch pitch. She ran there, and saw Harry sitting on a bench staring at the green grass.

"Harry," said Hermione as she sat down next to him, "Harry, I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking straight. You have every right to go and chase your dreams. It's what you deserve anyway, after everything you've been through."

Harry lifted his face from the ground and looked at Hermione. They stared at each other for several minutes. Both stared into each others eyes. Hermione began to get a little nervous. She had never stared at Harry in that way before. Still she didn't move her eyes an inch. Hermione's heart began to pump madly. When Harry moved closer and closer, Hermione was positive her heart jumped up to her throat.

"Harry," she said again. Before Hermione had the chance to say anything else, Harry kissed her. It was a soft kiss but still powerful. Hermione melted right there and then. She never saw this coming. She never thought anything like this would have happened to her. She always thought of Harry as her close friend.

Once Harry backed out, Hermione noticed he had a little smile in his face.

"I knew you'd understand me in the end," said Harry.

"Harry, you just kissed me. Do you realise what that means?" asked Hermione.

Harry lifted his shoulders, and said, "Well, I thought I'd kind of have to if I was going to write a song about you and how much I loved you."

Hermione gave a little laugh, "Harry, you're so silly."

Harry and Hermione sat there for a long time, without saying a single word. They just stared at the sky and they both knew that they were happy... They were both happy, that they seemed to be more than just friends.

-----------------------------------

By the next day Ron and Seamus had apologised to Harry. Harry accepted their apologies and told them that he understood if they weren't interested in joining his boy band. He told them that going solo was in fact, a lot easier for him.

During the Transfiguration exam, all Harry could think about was writing his first song. All Hermione could think about then was how cute Harry actually looked like, when he was impatient.

Ron heard about Harry and Hermione, and he was forced to keep his mouth shut, until Harry wrote his song, and people would find out about his relationship with Hermione through that. It seemed to be a very difficult thing for Ron. He had already almost blurted the news out ten times.

After the Transfiguration exam had ended, Harry rushed over to the Gryffindor common room, fetched his ink and parchment and ran outside to the exact same spot, where he and Hermione had kissed for the first time. Harry thought that was the best way to get the words of the song sounding as real as possible.

Hermione stood a little way away, watching Harry do his work. To think, yesterday I was still laughing at him and today I'm madly in love with him, thought Hermione. She even hummed Stevie Wonder's song, I just called to say I love you. Hermione didn't notice, when someone sat down next to her.

"I guess my chances are over now, aren't they?" said Seamus miserably.

Hermione woke up from her thoughts, and shook her head. "What are you talking about, Seamus?"

"I know, you're in love with Harry."

"Oh, damn! Was it Ron that told you? Blimey, when I get my hands on him..." said Hermione furiously.

"No, Ron never told me anything. I just know. I guess you learn to know a lot about another person's feelings, when you've been staring at them for a month."

Hermione calmed down immediately. She gave Seamus a big hug, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Seamus blushed and gave a small smile.

"Oh, well. Can't say I didn't try," he said.

Hermione nodded her head slowly, and said, "Seamus, you've become very important to me. I care for you deeply. Can we still be at least friends?"

"Of course we can," said Seamus. He gave Hermione a grateful smile for not just ditching him.

Hermione saw Harry come up to her and Seamus, with a great big smile on his face. He looked as though he had just found out that Voldemort was gay, and he was the leader of this years Gay pride festival.

"Is it ready?" asked Hermione.

Harry nodded, and passed the piece of parchment to Hermione. Hermione took it and smiled back. Seamus was utterly bewildered because of course, he had no idea about anything.

Hermione walked away, waiving to Harry and Seamus and they both waved back.

"What was that all about?" asked Seamus confused.

Harry sat down next to him and patted his shoulder. "I think you'll just find that I've got the girl and you're just left with a bunch of dreams."

Seamus stared at Harry. Soon his eyes filled with tears and he ran off crying. Harry leaned back against, where he thought there was a wall but instead fell down on his back onto the ground.

-----------------------------------

The next day, Harry recorded his song of course, by using magic. While he was doing that, Ron would every now and then stick his two fingers in his mouth. It was obvious, Ron didn't like the words. Harry didn't mind though. He knew Ron had never been the mushy type.

After all the recording was done, Harry sent the song to the local radio station in Hogsmeade. He knew that because he was Harry Potter, his song would definitely be played. Hermione giggled as Harry sent the song and they kissed each other again, Hermione still giggling. She couldn't wait to find out what people would say, when they found out the song was about her.

Ron feeling absolutely disgusted went back to the Gryffindor common room. While he was thinking about the awful of the song, he bumped into someone and fell back.

"Watch it," said Ron angrily.

"Mind your words, Weasley!" shouted a boy with blonde hair and grey eyes. It was none other than Draco Malfoy.

"Get out of my way, Malfoy! You'll scare half the witches and wizards away, when they see your ghastly face," said Ron irritably. Surprisingly, he was not in the mood to fight with Malfoy. Ron was still feeling bothered about the lyrics to Harry's song.

"Calm down, Weasley. I don't think everyone exactly thinks your face is that charming, either. With your red hair, people might think your head is on fire."

Ron looked quickly down, trying to hide his red face. Soon Ron noticed something interesting though that caught his attention.

"Hang on, Malfoy. Where are your buddy's, Fatso and Fatter exactly?"

"If you're talking about Crabbe and Goyle, Weasley, then they're still eating in the Great Hall," said Malfoy furiously.

Ron seized the chance. He smiled and waved his hand, and punched Draco right on the nose! Malfoy fell back in surprise. Ron shook his hand, and said, "Damn, that was worth it!"

Malfoy looked very angry now. He pulled up his sleeves and attacked Ron. They were both now fighting like mad, rolling on the floor.

"COME ON, MALFOY! IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO?" shouted Ron. Malfoy had only hit Ron three times and Ron had hit Malfoy already ten times. Malfoy's nose was bleeding but he still tried to fight back.

While Ron and Malfoy were fighting, Harry and Hermione were walking through the hallway, staring at each other. They were both disturbed though, when they saw Ron being punched in the face by Malfoy.

"Ron, stop!" shouted Hermione.

Harry was standing next to Hermione, cheering on Ron.

"Is this the best fight you've ever seen, or what?" shouted Harry.

Hermione looking slightly angry ordered Harry to stop the boys from fighting. Harry didn't know what to do. Hermione whispered something in his ear and Harry gave a big hug to Hermione.

"This might as well be my breakthrough," said Harry winking at Hermione.

Hermione stood a little back, and soon there was more noise than just the punching and kicking coming from Ron and Malfoy, which very soon stopped. People begun to gather around that deserted hallway. Soon every corned was filled as everyone watched Harry sing...

Harry really did have a beautiful voice. Although the words to the song were quite mushy, the tune was nice. Soon all the witches and wizards caught up on the words to the song, and everyone were singing in the hallway. People took hold of each others hands, and sung...

Her brown eyes just watching mine

No sound but the breath of our lives

She is so beautiful

I am so hopeful

Will she kiss me tonight

Oh, Hermione

Please kiss me tonight

As everyone sung Harry's song, Harry felt his dreams come true. Hermione got tears in her eyes and she hugged Harry as he sung. Even Ron now felt a little softer. He and Malfoy actually shook hands. It seemed they had made up. Fred and George were in the back cheering. Everything was so perfect. Harry wished he could live that moment forever.

Soon Hagrid walked into the hallway too. Because there was such a big crowd, he didn't see the singer but he knew he did not like the song.

"What kind of crappy song is this?" shouted Hagrid.

The song ended instantly. Harry heard Hagrid's voice, and shouted, "It's mine, Hagrid!"

"Harry? ...whoops."
