It's the beginning of spring. You know, when the weather is getting warmer, the birds are chirping, trees are getting leaves, the grass is growing greener, and it seems that everyone is in love. I, Chloe Jones, am in love, too. It's just a one-sided love though. The boy I'm in love with is one of my best friends, Harry Potter.
I came from America in 5th year, and I quickly befriended Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and him, the famous Harry Potter. I couldn't believe that I had met Harry Potter! I wasn't thinking of love when I first got to Hogwarts. Sure, there were lots of cute boys, but I was here for academics. Hermione was in many of my classes, and we were both hard workers, so we became friends instantly. She introduced me to Ron and Harry.
In America at the Salem Witch Institute, I didn't really have any friends. Everyone thought that I was odd. So, I became absorbed in my schoolwork. The professors adored me. I don't know why I'm here at Hogwarts. Professor Thomas, the Headmaster, said it was because of some prophecy, and it was our only hope of defeating the Dark Lord. Thomas didn't say which prophecy it was, but I'm going to try to find it.
When I got to Hogwarts, I was sorted into Gryffindor. Hermione took me to the tower, but she didn't seem really friendly. I thought it was going to be the same here as it was at the Institute. Obviously, I was wrong. ***
I walked towards the Quidditch pitch with my broomstick held tightly in my hand. Flying was one of the things that I loved. I never told anyone because then they might think that I'm good at Quidditch. Haha! that's a laugh! I can't fly and hold a ball at the same time. Sure, I can read and write at the same time but that's completely different. I absolutely can't stand for people to be looking at me. I finally get to the pitch and hop on my Nimbus.
Flying gives me a since of peace. I love how my long blonde hair whips around me. I love the cool wind slapping me in the face. I fly around each goal, and then I zoom downwards. A foot from the ground, I pull up, and soar into the darkening sky.
"That was great, Chloe!" I hear from below me. I look down, and I see him looking up at me.
"Why are you here, Harry?" I ask trying to stay calm.
"I came for a fly and saw you," he explains.
"Oh."
"You're a great flyer."
"Thank you."
"You should try out for the Gryffindor team."
"I couldn't do that, Harry. I'm terribly afraid of people watching me," I say as I fly down to him.
"But when you're flying, you can't feel anyone looking at you."
"I'll think about it."
"Thanks, we could really use you."
"Ok. Well, I better get back to the Tower."
"I'll walk you back."
"No, that's ok," I tell him, blushing.
"Ok. See you around, Chloe."
"Bye." I get all flustered when he talks to me! He's so cute and considerate. I'll never be able to have him for myself.
