...Caught! Just when she thinks she's free Ana is caught by Mrs. Davies. Locked in the kitchen pantry--along with a recently disowned Amber-Lyn--Ana awaits the arrival of her new mistress. Tempers rise between the two young girls, and Ana finds out that her mother is dead...Or is she?

Ana and Amber-Lyn have been shipped off to Blackenvire Castle, and they are the new handmaidens of Princess Senna Riddle Marjoni, an heiress to the Dark King. All hopes of escape seem impossible, and Ana finds out the meanings of her dreams. So many people around the castle seem to "know" her, but Ana isn't sure she even knows herself.

“So, Liana, remember this when you’re hating me in the dark of the night for taking away your mummy. I saved you from death. I may be bad, but I’m still human. The Dark Lord has sucked away my soul soon, but I’ll make sure he won’t get a chance at yours.”--Ana learns about babies, redemtpion, and, among other things, about her past. Things become clearer, and she regains an old friend and makes a new one.

The first chapter in Ana's saga draws to an end. Danger, suicidal escape plans, and secrets fill her last moments at Blackenvire Castle.
