Author's Note:
This story is based on a dream, and there is a chance that the dream was about an actual story. In which case, please know that I didn't mean to steal this idea...For some reason this scene just seemed so real to me, I couldn't help but write it!

Spain falls. (He's alive, no, physically all right. No, we're not getting any response from her. Triage, you know, took the one most likely to survive first. Vegetable? Maybe...)

The rain. The rain. The rain. (Neville, see, this is your father. Say hi, Neville, say hi. Nev, say hi. Why can't you ever do what grandmother says. Bye, Daddy)

In the plane. The reign. Mostly in Spain. (Thought it might help him to see his wife, guess not. Not much to see anyway.)

In the plane, in the plain, in the plain. (Well, Doctor? Is there any reason the boy should be subjected to this? He's getting older, he'll be asking questions soon.)

In the plain, in the rain, in the plain plain plain. (Oh, Frank, if only you could see your son, if only you were there to raise him; he's six now, so handsome. Oh I know I had a picture somewhere in here, this damned purse.)

In the rain in Spain in the plain. (Let's knock off early today, hmm? Not like this blob'll know the difference. Christ this job is depressing.)

In the rain Spain falls. (Hi, Dad, it's me, Neville. I'm your son. There's a chance--just a chance--that I might be a Squib.)

In the rain the plain fell in Spain. (He's starting his first year at Hogwarts, Frank--your boy! I'm so proud of him, but I do worry. It isn't right for a boy to grow up without any parents.)

The rain falls mainly in the plain. (Frank, it's Severus Snape. We were at school together, as I've no doubt you remember--to the extent that you remember anything. I wanted to apol--to apol--oh hell, to apologize for this; I certainly never imagined that it turn out this way. Merlin, it's like talking to a brick wall. Must I? Oh, very well. But you owe me Headmaster, and this is one debt for which I will not accept payment in EveryFlavor Beans.TM Look, Longbottom, Frank, whatever, you both were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, nothing personal. Right?)

In Spain the rain mainly falls in the plain. (Hi, Dad, it's me, Neville, your son again, I'm sorry to bother you. Gran said I shouldn't. But I made Gryffindor, Dad, I just wanted you to know.)

In Spain the rain falls mainly in the plain. (Poor bastard. He does seem a little more lively, lately. Maybe it's having all those visitors...If he did come back? I dunno, brain function is normal, but what would it be like, being married to that? Look at her, she's practically a rutabaga. There's nothing left at all. No, I can't imagine, they're supposed to have been so much in love. Better he never finds out.)

Falls, falls, falls. (A priest? Anyone know if he was C. of E.? I suppose it doesn't much matter.)

Rain. (I've three more deathbeds to be at before teatime. May the Lord who frees you from sin save you and raise you up. Amen. Carry on.)
