Frozen in Time

Speechless and with a cold chill down his spine, Severus Snape watches the new Ancient Runes teacher enter the first staff meeting of the year. What goes through the quiet mind of the former Death Eater as he is confronted by the person who inevitably brings back memories from his teenage past? Why does the new teacher glare at him furiously as they meet again in a room full of stunned professors? (Set during PoA)

Snape catches Isolde and Lupin talking in the Owlery about Sirius Black, who breaks into the castle. Shortly after, the teachers watch a Quidditch game in the storm and the Dementors attack. Through all of this, Snape thinks back to his days as a student at Hogwarts.

Neville confronts Isolde about a curious line of words by Draco Malfoy. Isolde reveals some of her past to him over a cup of tea, before heading out on a mission for Dumbledore. Sirius Black breaks into the castle again, causing Isolde to think about an incident from her past.

Neville gets invited to sit through a Runes lesson where something interesting happens between Isolde and Draco Malfoy…
