"Don't you think it's weird?" Ron Weasley asked Harry Potter, as they were eating breakfast in the Great Hall.
"What's weird?" Harry asked sounding just as confused.
"Well, that's at least the fifth time that Malfoy has walked past you these couple of days and he hasn't even said something mean to you or made fun of you. Not even me! Wow, that must be a record."
"You know, you're right. That's strange, even though his dad died. Don't you think so too, Hermione? Hermione?" Harry and Ron looked up and down the Gryffindor table in the grand hall, but couldn't find her.
"I don't get it. She was sitting right in front of us eating her bagel and eggs just a minute ago," Harry said confused.
"Well, that could only mean one of two things. Either she went to the library, or she was smart and left extra early to get a good seat in the back of Divination class," concluded Ron.
"Yeah, that's what we should go do. C'mon Ron."
"Hermione, how come you weren't in Divination class today?" Harry asked Hermione. Ron and Harry were sitting in the common room, doing their divination homework (very poorly), when Hermione walked through the portrait hole. Over the past two years, Hermione grew into a woman. She had a bigger butt, and bigger breasts. She refuses to admit to this, because on the inside, she is still the same, bookworm Hermione.
"Professor Trelawny let me study in the library because I was a day ahead of everyone in class," Hermione explained. Although, there was an expression on Hermione's face that both Ron and Harry knew that she was lying.
"Are you sure?" Ron asked. "You have excessively been going to the library. I mean, I know that you go a lot, but this is more than usual."
"I just wanted to study," Hermione tried to explain.
"Anyway," Ron started, trying to change the subject, "have you noticed that Malfoy has been ignoring me and Harry."
"Really," said Hermione sarcastically.
"What he means is that Malfoy hasn't been saying any remarks to us since, well, since his dad died," Harry explained.
"Well, his dad died in Azkaban. What do you expect?" asked Hermione.
"I don't know, I'm just saying," said Ron as he leaned back into the coach.
"Well, if you guys are done worrying about other peoples problems, I have to go to the library," said Hermione getting up.
"But you were just there," shouted Ron, getting up too.
"Don't yell at me if I want to do good in school!"
"Then I will go too," Ron shouted, grabbing his books.
"No!"
Both Harry and Ron were surprised that Hermione actually told them not to go to the library.
"If you go with me, then you will be bugging me for answers, and I want you guys to do your homework on your own," Hermione was trying to explain. "Now that we are 7th years, you guys should be wanting to actually learn so you can do good on the finals." With that, Hermione left the common room, and headed to the library.
"Ron, I know you care about her, and I think that there is something weird going on here too," said Harry calming Ron. "I think it is time to pay a visit to the library."
"Excuse me," Harry said in a shy voice, to Madam Pince. She did not look up. "Excuse me," Harry said a little louder this time. Madam Pince looked up.
"How can I help you?" she asked Harry and Ron.
"Do you know if Hermione Granger was in the library this morning?" Ron asked.
"Yes she was. Is that all?"
"Yeah, that's all," said Harry turning away. "Thanks."
"So now what are we going to do?" asked Ron.
"We go find Hermione," said Harry.
Suddenly Malfoy walked out of the library. He walked right past Ron, and bumped into Harry.
"Oh, sorry," said Draco, as if not realizing that Harry was his biggest enemy. Then, he just walked away.
"That was the weirdest thing I've ever seen," said Ron amazed. "I don't know which was weirder; Malfoy apologizing, or Malfoy apologizing to you." Harry and Ron walked around the library until they spotted Hermione sitting at a table by herself.
"What are you doing here?" Hermione asked angrily. She would have yelled, except she was in the library. "I'm not giving you answers."
"Well, I couldn't find my Divination book, and was wondering if you took it," Ron lied.
"No, I don't have it," Hermione said annoyed.
"I told you it was in your trunk," added Harry, going along with the fib.
"Now I want you guys to go back to the common room, and finish your homework," Hermione ordered.
"Yes ma'am," said Ron saluting.
"I still feel like something weird is going on," Harry told Ron as they were leaving the table.
"Me too, but I don't know what to do," Ron added.
"Then lets go to Madam Pince again," Harry said walking quicker, heading for Madam Pince's desk.
"Excuse me, Madam Pince?" Harry asked.
"Yes, what is it now?" she asked looking up at Harry and Ron.
"When Hermione came in this morning, was she with anyone?" Harry asked.
"Yes, she was with a pale blonde haired boy. She was just with him before, but he left as you came in."
