Karaoke

Chapter 1: The Invitation

Harry, Ron, and Hermione ate breakfast peacefully at the Gryffindor table. Suddenly a barn owl swooped down and landed next to Hermione. It stretched out its leg and Hermione took the letter tied to it. She read it aloud:

Dear Hermione,

You and your school, Hogwarts, are invited (by us) to attend a special Karaoke competition held in our town. It will take place tonight! Please owl back and give us your and your school's answer!

Love,

Mum and Dad

By now the whole school was listening to the letter. As Hermione finished they started whispering swiftly and excitedly. Dumbledore stood up.

"All in favor of joining the Karaoke competition, say Aye!" he exclaimed.

"Aye!" chorused the whole school and they erupted in cheers.

"I'd better send them our response!" said Hermione happily.

She quickly scribbled:

Dear Mum and Dad,

The school and I say yes, we'll see you tonight!

Love you,

Hermione

She tied the letter to the barn owl and it flew away.

"Because of this event happening tonight, I will conclude that ALL classes are cancelled! Now go to wherever in the castle and start practicing your songs! You all must participate!" Professor Dumbledore said.

The school then ran out of the castle and started forming groups or solos. Neville, Seamus, and Dean came up to Harry and Ron, ignoring Hermione.

"Hey, Ron, Harry! Would you like to perform with us in a boy band? It's going to be super cool!" Seamus asked.

"Sure!" Harry and Ron said getting up and following them.

"Hey! But what about--" Hermione started, but they were already gone.

"Boys... I guess I'll have to do it myself!" Hermione sighed and made her way to the common Room.

She met Parvati, Lavender, and Ginny there. They looked up and smiled brightly.

"Hermione! Would you like to join our girl group?" Ginny asked standing up.

"Sure! Do you have an idea on what to do?" Hermione asked sitting down.

They all shook their heads. Hermione thought for a moment then had an idea.

"Girls... I think we're going to win that competition easily..." Hermione said slowly a smile spreading on her face.

Ron and Harry followed Seamus and Dean to a deserted classroom and sat down.

"So... what are we going to si--sing?" asked Ron nervously.

"I came up with a perfect song that's going to make our meant to be girlfriends jump into our arms!" said Dean handing everyone a separate copy.

"Who exactly are our "meant to be" girls?" asked Harry looking around at everyone.

"Lavender, Parvati, Ginny, and Hermione!" said Seamus and Dean.

"But I don't like Parvati and Ron doesn't like Lavender!" said Harry scratching his head.

"Ginny's your girl, Harry, mine is Lavender, Dean's is Parvati, and Ron's is--" Seamus started.

"What?! I do not like Ginny/Hermione!" Harry/Ron exclaimed, blushing.

"Of course they're not and we're just Queen Elizabeth's boyfriends in disguise!" said Dean rolling his eyes.

"But--" started Ron.

"No buts! We're going to go through with this no matter what or do you want me to put the Cruciatus Curse on you?" asked Seamus.

"Oh, fine! But this better be worth it!" Ron and Harry said exasperatedly.
