CHAPTER 1 - THE APPARATE

"Hedwig, what is it?" Harry asked stroking Hedwig slowly.

Hedwig, Harry's owl, tapped against the window with her beak.

"I guess I should open the window then," he stated.

"Humm... I wonder who it's from. I don't recognize the owl," he wondered out loud.

Harry slowly untied the string that was attaching the letter to the owl's leg.

"Here," he said giving the owl some sweets.

He read:

Dear Harry,

As much as I'd like to, I can't write 2 more letters to Hermione and Ron. I guess you'll have to tell them about the contents of this letter. Here it goes. I will have a surprise for you later in the summer and during your school year during Hogwarts. That's all I can write now, on account that I might get spotted if I stay where I am too long. Please write back before the summer holidays end.

From,

Your uncle Sirius.

Harry quickly got out a quill and parchment. He began to scribble down a reply very quickly because his uncle would be coming upstairs very soon to check on him. His uncle, uncle Vernon, hated magic. Not like the hate that Malfoy and Harry shared. It was more of a hate that cannot be explained easily. It was a 'scared' hate.

"If anyone ever found out in this neighborhood about magic connected to us, I might just reconsider letting you continue going to that school of yours," uncle Vernon sternly stated a couple of years ago.

Dear Sirius,

I am looking forward to your surprises. I know that you can't tell, incase this letter has been read by someone else. I hope that you are safe. Where did you get the owl? I don't recognize him. Talk to you later.

From,

Harry.

Harry got another letter, suspecting it was from Ron, because the owl was Pig (Pigwidgeon). He quickly untied the letter as Pig flew around the room like a bug.

Dear Harry,

Could you come to stay with us for the last week of summer holiday? If yes, then we will come on the 24th of July at 4:30. That's all I need to say. Have you talked to Herm or Sirius? See ya!

From,

Ron.

"Can I go to my friend's house on the 24th of this month?" asked Harry.

He better not mention Ron's name incase it reminded his aunt and uncle of magic.

"I don't know..." started aunt Petunia.

"Only if you behave until then," answered uncle Vernon grumpily.

"Yeah! I mean, thanks," said Harry, trying not to seem too excited.

Harry ran up stairs to write back to Ron.

"Hedwig, what's the matter?" Harry asked.

Hedwig just looked over at Pig, and seemed quite annoyed.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry I had to leave you with him all that time," he replied to his owl, "Pig, can you calm down a bit, while I write this letter to Ron?"

He wrote:

Dear Ron,

I can come! I suppose you were gonna come anyways, though. Can't wait till we get to Hogwarts, though! See ya on the 24th! Bye.

Harry.

Harry took hold of Pig and tied the letter onto his leg.

"Get going already!" screamed aunt Petunia.

"Okay, okay! You don't have to fuss!" hushed Mr. Weasley calmly, putting out his hands in surrender.

Aunt Petunia on the other hand was not calm. Her face was filled with fury as she was on the edge of her seat, as Muggles put it.

"Maybe we should just leave and not create anymore havoc for you, shall we?" said Mrs. Weasley picking up some of Harry's bags.

"You should ask to stay there in the summer. I don't like any of this 'magic' business in our home," said uncle Vernon sternly but quietly in Harry's ear.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Do you know if we are aloud to stay at Hogwarts for the summer, Mr. Weasley?" asked Harry curiously.

"No, actually I don't. But you're welcome to stay with us if Mrs. Weasley approves it," replied Mr. Weasley.

"Sure. That would be no problem at all. Always a pleasure to have you as company, Harry," kindly said Mrs. Weasley.

"Always a pleasure being it-company-," said Harry.

"So have u heard where 'You know who' is? Or how he is? Or what he is? Or-" she got cut off by Mr. Weasley.

"Please, not in front of Harry! You know," murmured Mr. Weasley.

"Oh, right," murmured back Mrs. Weasley.

"Why? I'm about the only one who says his actual name! Voldemort! Voldemort! Voldemort!" Ron covered his ears, "Why should you be keeping stuff from me? Is it a secret to me, or just everybody?" asked Harry.

"Well............" trailed off Mrs. Weasley.

"Oh, don't you dare! You know what Cornelius Fudge told us! -And the consequences!" yelled Mr. Weasley, trying to concentrate on driving the car.

"Oh, but he's just so curious!" replied Mrs. Weasley.

"Fine," regretted Mr. Weasley, "But only if he's ready!"

"Voldemort apparated into a muggle police station some time last Monday. He said that he would come to Hogwarts. They didn't know what Hogwarts was so they contacted the Mayor. The Mayor then told Professor Dumbledore. Professor Dumbledore was so completely shocked! I couldn't believe what a wreck he was in when he came into the ministry of magic in London. Voldemort said that he would have Slytherin back to himself again right before re apparated out of there. I don't know what he meant, because he never had Slytherin to begin with!" explained Mrs. Weasley.

"I think I know what he meant to say. He was related to Salazar Slytherin, so I guess he wants to take over in the name of Slytherin," predicted Harry.

"Well, anyways, now the ministry of magic wants to put those dementors at Hogwarts again. And you believe me, that just blew Albus Dumbledore over!" exclaimed Mrs. Weasley.

"What happened then?" asked Harry, leaning in closer to hear Mrs. Weasley.

"Professor Dumbledore just won't allow it!" she said matter-of-factly, "He'd rather close down the school!"

"What?" asked Ron, Harry, and Ginny in amazement.

"Will he?" asked Ginny.

"No one knows," said Mrs. Weasley, disappointed, "His orders are to have everything running the way it always does. Going to Diagon Alley to buy the school supplies. And then sending all you students to Hogwarts on the train."

"I guess we have to try to relax, now, don't we?" asked Harry.

"I guess so," replied Ron.
