The Glory of Love
It was a perfect picture; a moonlit night, a soft breeze blowing in from the sea, crickets chirruping, and the smell of orchids drifting in through the windows of open balcony doors. And if you were to venture onto this self-same balcony, and peek between the two glass doors, you would see quite the lovers' paradise.
Floor-length lace curtains were hung on the doors, gently blowing in the salty breeze coming in off the sea. The bottom of these curtains barely reached the floor, a finely polished wood floor that gleamed in the moonlight stealing into the room. The furniture, while not in abundance, was quite rich in it's appointments. There were two matched golden oak tables, finely inlaid with squares of glass, and each bearing a small brass lamp with identical green glass shades. There was a beautifully carved armoire and chest of drawers set strategically about the room to make it appear as if there was more furniture than there was. There was also a low divan to rest upon, as well as an oaken glider in one corner. But the masterpiece, the glorious masterpiece of this room was the bed. A great king-size monster, it too, was carved from honey-colored oak. The head and foot-board were both done up with newel posts, and the carvings of hearts and flowers were on the head-board. It had been made up with pale mauve satin sheets and a feather-down quilt. The pillows were also of the softest down that could be had. But despite all of these beautiful appointments, the most interesting thing in this room were the two people who resided within the bed at this moment.
It was their honeymoon, and they were quite sure that no two people could be happier than they. The woman slept peacefully, with a slight smile upon her face, breathing evenly as her husband lay on his side propped up by an arm. Had she been awake, she would have blushed becomingly to see the love shining so visibly from his beautiful blue eyes. As she slept he happily relived this most wonderous day; so far the best day of his life. He could not stop repeating over and over, "Mrs. Ronald Weasley, Mrs. Ron Weasley, Mrs. Hermione Weasley, Mrs. Weasley." He was still amazed that it was him that she loved; the one she said yes to, the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. He could not begin to tell her how he felt.
Tonight it's very clear
As we're both lying here
There's so many things I wanna say
I will always love you
I will never leave you alone
The way their friendship had been was a clue everyone said. But Ron only flinched when he heard this. For when he heard this he felt the guilt double over and fill him. When he thought of all of the fights, arguments, disagreements, and the very few major blow-ups they had had, it was a miracle that love had developed. He knew how often he had been the world's biggest prat, and hated it when he hurt her.
Sometimes I just forget, say things I might regret
It breaks my heart to see you crying
I don't want to lose you
I could never make it alone
He didn't know why she loved him, but he was so very glad that she did. He would do whatever was in his power to do to make her the happiest woman that ever lived. 'Cause Throughout all of their own personal problems, they had always stood by one another through all the good and hard times. This had been true even in second year when he tried to defend her against Malfoy's slur of "Mudblood".
"Cause I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you've been dreaming of
Gonna live forever knowing together
That we did it all for the glory of love
She had always been there when he needed her most, no matter what he said or did. She had never made him feel like he was less than was. It had never bothered her like it had him that his family was poor. She had even rounded on him quite angrily when he suggested she may not want to marry him, seeing as they had to wait a couple of years before they could marry. They had no money, and at the time he had no home to offer her, other than his childhood one. This did not matter to her; she was willing to wait five years if need be. He shuddered and grinned, glad they had not had to wait that long.
You keep me standing tall
You help me through it all
I'm always strong when you're beside me
I have always needed you
I could never make it alone
"Cause I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you've been dreaming of
Gonna live forever knowing together
That we did it all for the glory of love
Yeah, he would protect her 'till his dying day; if need be he would die for her. Merlin knew they had come quite close two years ago when Voldemort had finally been defeated. He would never forget how he felt as if his heart had been lodged in his throat when told Hermione had been captured by a pair of Death Eaters. Despite everyone yelling at him to stay put, he Disaparated to the place where she was being held. Quickly assessing the situation, he took out the two D.E.s and quickly whisked his dearest love back to headquarters. Although he had been offered Merlin second class, he declined, saying he had done nothing heroic, where Hermione promptly disagreed with him.
It's like a knight in shining armor
From a long time ago
Just in time I'll save the day
Take you to my castle far away
I am the man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero that you've been dreaming of
Gonna live forever knowing together
That we did it all for the glory of love
Everything had worked out in the end, things had gotten to be as normal as could be expected for the wizarding world. Their wedding had been lavish enough for their mothers, quaint enough for the guests, and very magical for them. Reservations at this lovely seaside wizard resort in France. And the first magical time of being together that had completed an already perfect day. He sighed happily as he lay down and drew his beautiful wife into his arms and fell asleep, his last coherent thoughts being how much he loved this woman.
