"But Mommy, I don't want to go to school!" I whined. Mommy had been in the kitchen cooking breakfast as I tugged on the hem of her dress. "Mommy... Mommy! MOMMY!"
"Ginevra, you need to wait, stop pulling at my dress, I'm making pancakes and I'll burn myself!" Mommy told me.
"But I don't want to go to pre-school!" I said stubbornly. Mommy was finished with the pancakes, I could tell, because stopped the fire and bent down to pick me up and cradle me in her arms. I like it when she does that.
"Ginevra," she said softly. "You're three years old, which means you're way too old to be whining like this. And... and you'll like Hogwarts Pre-School, your brother will be there with you. You'll make friends and play with them and learn the magic and have so much fun, oh Ginny..." Mommy was trailing off again, getting all teary-eyed...she says it's because I'm growing up so quickly and I won't be her baby anymore. But I tell her, I say, 'Mommy that's silly, of course I'll still be your baby and'...I'm getting off topic.
"And you won't even want me to pick you up at the end of the day," she finished brightly. My brothers are coming downstairs now. Charlie came out in his brand new Hogwarts uniform; Mommy started crying again.
"Oh, Charles," she cried, going to hug him. "You look so handsome in your uniform!" Charlie blushed; he gets embarrassed whenever Mommy calls him 'Charles.' Fred and George started laughing at him and calling him Charles. Then Daddy came down, tying up his tie like he always does..
"Morning, all!" he said cheerfully.
"Morning, Dad," we all said. I said, "Morning Daddy," because I think that sounds better, but that's just me. We all ate breakfast, I eat my pancakes with lots and lots of syrup so it tastes yummy, and Ron does too. Fred and George were throwing their food at each other behind Mommy's back. Percy is really, really anal, so he doesn't eat pancakes with syrup so it doesn't get so messy and he cuts them into perfect shapes. Bill and Charlie just eat like normal people. After we ate, it was time to go.
Daddy dropped Bill and Charlie off at the train station, Mommy dropped Ron and me off at the Pre-School. We went into our fireplace and then we were in a fireplace inside the Pre-school. Mommy walked Ron and me to our classroom. Then Mommy took me aside and told me that I was going to be all right and I would make friends. Then she hugged me and went away. So I walked into the classroom.
The classroom was really, really big, and really, really, colorful. The room was round and the ceiling was round and made of pretty glass. There was a whole bunch of kids in the room. A tall girl walked up to me. She had blonde hair in French braids and she wore a pretty, shiny green dress.
"Hello there, my name is Pansy Parkinson, I am four years old, my daddy is a Death Eater but my mommy isn't and she doesn't want me to be one either," she said and held her hand out to me.
"Hello, my name is Ginevra Weasley, but don't call me that, call me Ginny. I am three years old, um, I don't know what a Death Eater is," I said and I shook her hand.
"Oh, you're a Weasley?" she said and crinkled her nose as if she smelled something bad. I nodded. "My daddy says you people are wizard filth and that I shouldn't as-assos-as..assosia- that I shouldn't talk to your kind." I thought this was mean so I looked down. "But you look nice, so I'll be your friend anyways!" She smiled at me.
"Okay!" I said back to her. We held hands and skipped to a little spot in the room where Pansy showed me all of her dolls. When we were playing, a light flashed into our faces. We looked at where it came from. It came from a little boy with a little black box in his hands.
"Sorry!" he said. "I just wanted to get a picture with my new camera!" He held up the little black box. I'm not sure, but I was guessing that was what a 'camera' was. "By the way, I'm Colin Creevey, I'm a Muggle-Born." He held out his small hand. I shook it, Pansy didn't, she looked at Colin as if he were a really icky bug.
"I don't play with Muggle-Borns," she said, really stuck up. Colin looked crestfallen. I got mad at her for being mean.
"I'll play with you!" I said. Colin looked up.
"Really?" he asked, smiling.
"Really," I said. I glared back at Pansy and started to play house with Colin.
"Um, okay, I want to be a world-renowned fashioner slash...male model!" said Colin.
"Okay, I want to be a interior designer on the rebound with two kids whose dead-beat husband leaves her for another woman!" I squealed.
"Okay!" said Colin.
"Can I play?" asked Pansy, who was looking very sorry.
"Well, I don't play with-" Colin started.
"Okay, you can play," I told her. Mommy told me that good people forgive people. So I forgave her. "What do you want to be, Pansy?" I asked Pansy.
"Um, I wanna be a single woman who dates like a man and has the reputation of a whore," she said slowly. We didn't know what that was, so we just looked at her.
"What's a whore?" Colin asked.
"I don't know, but my daddy said, if I don't do well when I'm older, I'll be that, and I don't like my daddy," Pansy explained. My brother spotted me, and got mad. He got mad because I was with a boy. Yeah, he can get a little over-sensitive at times.
"Ginny!" he said. His face was getting red and blotchy like it always does when he's mad. "What are you doing with-with this...BOY?!" he yelled at me.
"Ron! Calm down, she's only playing with him," Hermione, one of his friends told him. "And I've read in Chicken Soup For the Young Witches Soul that children our age need expansive friendships, even those of the opposite sex!" she explained. And Ron listened to her. I have a feeling he likes her. Call it common knowledge or Women's Intuition, but I know. Oh, I know.
"Yeah, Ron, let's go play somewhere else," said Ron's other friend, Harry, a.k.a. the love of my life. He is sooooooooooo cute! He has black hair and beautiful green eyes like a fresh pickled toad... I could go on and on, but I have a story to tell, thank you.
"Ooh, he's handsome!" said Colin after Hermione and Harry dragged Ron away. I looked at him. I don't think he's like other boys, Colin.
"Well, if it ithn't another Weathel to ruin this Pre-Thchool," said a boy's voice. I turned around. It was a skinny albino boy who wore expensive clothes and had two other big boys with him. He looked at Pansy and raised his eyebrows.
"Parkinson, I'm suprithed you are with thith...filth," he said meanly.
"Well, at least she doesn't talk like a baby, Draco!" she said back to him. He smirked. I have a feeling that he does that a lot. He pulled out a wand, so did the other two. Me, Pansy and Colin gasped.
"Oooh...you're not supposed to have wands!" I said. It's true, you're not!
"What? Are you going to tell?" he said menacingly. "I dare you, Weathel, I dare you."
"MALFOY, GET AWAY FROM MY SISTER!!!!!" yelled my brother, Ron, from across the room. Okay, sometimes my brother's protectiveness is a good thing.
"What are you going to do if I don't?" he said back, pointing his wand him.
"Come off it, Malfoy," said the Love of My Life. "You don't even know any spells." Colin and me sighed dreamily. The Love of My Life, or L.O.M.L. and my brother were looking at the albino boy like they were going to beat him up real bad.
"Crabbe, Goyle," he started slowly. "Let'th go," he thaid-I mean, said. Then he looked at me one more time, but not like he was mad, it was more like he was...sad. Then he turned around and left.
"Snack time!" the teacher yelled.
Author Notes: okay, this is really AU, Harry being there and all, but it's supposed to be fun! It's not really an ongoing story, more of a day-to-day thing! Review, please!
