Author's Note:
Originally when I wrote this I was going to write the beginning of the story, but then I decided to write a year five story ("A Normal Harry Potter") You can see the reference to it at the end when I keep mentioning "normal", but it didn't quite work for me. I still might write a so-called prequel. Let me know what you think of this peep.

All through Harry's life he was concerned about fitting in. When he was with the Dursleys they treated him like a disease. He knew that he didn't fit in there.

But when Harry was at Hogwarts he was a different person. He was a part of the puzzle. How could he had lived for over a decade and not realized that he did in fact fit somewhere.

Now Harry was leaving Hogwarts. He would leave behind the Creevey brothers, Potions, the giant squid in the lake, wandering the grounds at night under an invisibility cloak, and various other things. Yes, Harry would probably even miss Draco Malfoy along with Crabbe and Goyle.

Most of all, though, Harry thought; he would miss the exciting times he shared with Ron and Hermione. He knew that he would be able to take those memories with him, but it wouldn't be the same. Nothing would be the same.

Harry had to go into the "real world" and act like an adult. Wait, isn't that what Harry had been doing his whole life? Why would it be so different acting as an adult in a real setting where hopefully your colleagues would also be mature? It wouldn't be different. It would be another step like moving out of the Dursleys' house and going to Hogwarts.

Still, Harry wasn't sure he would fit in. At Hogwarts he at least had Ron and Hermione around to support him. He would now be on his own.

With that Harry packed his trunk, scanning all the items in his trunk that he had acquired throughout his years at Hogwarts. 'Yes,' Harry thought. 'I've had the best time of my life here, but I don't want to overstay my welcome.'

"The world needs you Harry Potter!" He heard Hermione Granger say to him as they left Kings Cross. "Both muggle and magical people need you. Harry Potter you possess a naiveté that inspires you to be extraordinary. I don't know if you do this consciously, but I believe that it is second nature for you. It's like breathing for you. It just happens without you knowing."

It seemed as if time sped up between packing and the end of school feast time had slipped through Harry's fingers like water in a colander and the water that still remained evaporated into the air. The last few moments melted away into a haze that Harry would only vaguely remember in his dreams.

Hermione left with her parents. Would their paths cross again? Would Harry and Hermione keep in touch? Only time could tell.

Mr. and Mrs. Weasley rushed upon Harry showering him with hugs and told him how proud they were of him and Ron.

"I knew that you had it in you, Harry," Mr. Weasley grinned slapping Harry on the back. "You will do perfectly well at the Ministry of Magic. Everyone is exited and drooling with anticipation to have Harry Potter come to work with them."

Mrs. Weasley still had Harry and Ron in a very tight embrace. She said some words to Ron in adoration, and then turned to Harry.

"You know that you are like a son to us, Harry," Mrs. Weasley said, tears filling her eyes. "Harry, it is an honor to be like a mother to you. We hope only the best for you. We know that you are special."

Harry couldn't remember Mrs. Weasley being this happy since the twins graduated from Hogwarts a year ago. Would he see Mrs. Weasley cry from happiness again? Would he nd Mr. Weasley get along at the Ministry? And what about Ron?

All these thoughts swam around Harry's head until, with a smile, he realized that he could and would be living a normal life...well at least a life that was normal in wizarding terms because Harry was far from normal. In fact, he was the extraordinary boy-who-lived.

Through his whole life Harry lived with the void of no parents. The scar on his forehead reminded him of it every day for the rest of his life. For this was no ordinary scar. Oh no, like its host, the lightening shaped scar was extraordinary. It was after all the downfall of the dark Lord Voldemort.

So next time bravery, honor, and loyalty are mentioned, remember Harry Potter, the boy-who-lived with the lightening shaped scar.
