CHAPTER-5

Dear Harry,

I am sorry to leave the place like I have, but this cannot go any further. This has to stop. I am leaving India; I need to be alone for a few months. I will join you again after I return. Please finish the report we started and submit it to the Ministry.

Give my regrets to Sarah and Draco for my sudden departure,

Lov Ginny.

"SHIT!" Harry cursed as he pounded his fist on the wall.

Suddenly he heard the door outside open and quickly stuffed the letter in his pocket, brandishing his wand.

"Hi Harry!" Sarah called in. "I don't see Ginny, is she out?" she asked him, looking around him.

Harry searched for a suitable reason. "Actually, Hermione wasn't feeling well and Ron is out for his matches, so Gin had to leave. She thanks you profusely for the troubles you took during our trip, and said that you must definitely come to London someday," Harry lied.

Sarah looked concerned. "But dear, isn't it harmful for her to travel now-a-days?" she asked.

Trying not to sound panic stricken, he asked her, "Is there any problem with her?"

Sarah looked confused now. "Didn't Ginny tell you? I thought she must have."

Harry felt panic flooding through him. "What happened?" he persisted.

"Well, Ginny is pregnant. She told me that it would be a surprise for you, and I thought you must have known it," Sarah replied.

Harry reeled in shock. Gin? Pregnant? Is that why she was reluctant to come with him? "Do you know what month she is pregnant by now?" he asked her quickly, while moving simultaneously to search for anything she might have left.

"She told me it was about three months now," she replied, now totally confused.

Harry stopped abruptly. Harry's mind began reeling, trying desperately to calculate exactly when she would have conceived.

It was just three months.

The child was his.

Ginny lied to him.

She hid the news of Harry's child from him.

Harry definitely needed reasons for her actions.

"Hey Bill!" Ginny shrieked and ran to him.

"Hey, hey baby! Calm down," Bill said staggering, as the force of her hug pushed him back slightly.

"Hi, Gin-ny!" Fleur greeted her.

"Hi Fleur! Hey children how are you all?" she exchanged greeting with the Phlegm then turned to their two beautiful little children.

"Aunt Gin -you're hee're!" they ran towards her, screaming in delight.

"Brad, you have started looking quite handsome, and you too Samantha!" she complimented both her nephew and niece. She bent down to look at them on their level. "How many years until my young Prince can to go to Hogwarts?"

Brad's face fell. "Eet's still three yearz more," he stuck his tongue out. Ginny laughed and ruffled his silvery red hair fondly.

"Lets go, Gin. You need some rest," Bill said to her kindly, leading them outside to the car.

Fleur opened the door of the house unceremoniously. As soon as she entered the hall, she smelled familiar fragrance of his brother. She slumped on the sofa nearby.

"Fleur, you take the children and go out for shopping. I have to talk to Gin," Bill said to his wife and Ginny had a sense of foreboding.

Ginny had told all her brothers about her pregnancy. She informed Ron first, leaving the part of Harry in it. All her brothers had agreed on one thing-not to tell this to Mum and Dad, as they would definitely feel bad about it.

"So Gin...you're pregnant..." he sighed. "Should I be happy that I am going to be an uncle or should I be sad that the child will probably never know his father?"

Ginny went over and sat down beside him. She took his hand and applied a slight pressure, which he returned. "Why be sad, brother? You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, except my child. It's my child, and he'll have five fathers instead of one. Isn't that great to have five fathers?" she said lightly.

Bill laughed. "Yeah it's great! Only two of those fathers will be the unfathomable twins!" he paused for a second. "Are you sure you don't want to tell Ma and Da?"

Ginny's answer was instant. "No," she said flatly.

"OK. I won't press you for it," he stood up and took her suitcase to her room. She followed him. "How long do you plan to stay?"

Ginny grinned. "Don't worry brother. I'll stay here long enough that you'll have to ultimately push me out of this house," she stopped suddenly. "Won't Fleur mind?" she asked fearfully.

Bill shook his head. "No. In fact, she wanted you to stay till your delivery. But I told her Ma and Da will be coming during that time here, so-"

"Hey, Pig!" Ginny exclaimed.

Pig flew over to her and handed her the letter. Bill nodded and went outside.

The letter was from Hermione.

Ginevra Weasley, what in the name of God do you think you're doing, running off to Egypt in this condition?

That was extremely foolish of you I must say, running away from the situation like this. Ron, Fred, George, Alicia and Angelina and I- all are worried about you. Now, before you think about it - I haven't told Harry where you are. He didn't even arrived back from India yet.

Only Ron, Fred and George and I know of this. Don't worry; they won't tell Harry about it. I have fixed that.

I talked to my Mum today, and she has vehemently asked me to order that you'll be having your delivery here only. Mum will take care of everything.

And Ginny, though Harry hasn't returned from India, I have a hunch from his letters that he is disturbed about your disappearance. He might even be missing you. Not to worry about it -he couldn't guess about your pregnancy.

I miss you, here. Only you were the one who could help me look at funny prospects of things. Ron still acts childishly about things and my anger doesn't help the matters.

Give my love to Bill, Fleur, and the lovely kids,

Yours,

Hermione

Typical Hermione! thought Ginny fondly, folding the letter.

She hurriedly wrote a reply for her letter and went outside to walk, not for once worrying about what might happen to her child or her in the future.

It was a good thing that she stayed for the next month with Bill's family. It was the worst time in her entire life. She was continuously sick, and had loads of trouble with different foods, especially milk. Her stomach was quite big ("Eeven Myine stomach waazn't thiz size," Phlegm used to irritate her by saying so.) and it created many problems, especially for her to walk. She had to take even smaller steps than a child and had loads of trouble in walking at more than a snail's pace when her Healer had asked for a brisk walk.

Well I must get ready now. Ginny thought, pulling herself reluctantly from the bed. She had come back to London, only to attend Fred and George's marriage anniversary party (those two had even married on the same day, thankfully not with the same girl). She chose a beautiful yellow and blue dress, the only dress which wasn't tight. Ron said they would pick her up after exactly fifteen minutes later, so she hurriedly dressed and put on some make up, hoping to hide her paleness, which seemed to have stuck permanently onto her face.

For a change, Ron and Hermione came on time. Ron dropped Dorje on the floor and it rushed towards Ginny.

"Hi, Dorje!" Ginny bent down and picked up the cub.

Last year, on her birthday, the Trio (as Ginny called Hermione, Ron and Harry together) had gifted her tiger cub, only a few days old. Ginny was suspicious that it was Harry's idea, but she never confirmed it with him. They named her Dorje.

Ginny was so happy that day because in a magical community, getting a pet tiger cub was very rare and it signified a happy life. Ginny took care of her even more than she took care for herself. The cub was only a year old but it recognized Ginny instantly and snuggled into her neck. Ginny grinned and ruffled her hair.

"Hey, Gin!" Ron greeted her, coming over to her and giving her a hug as she dropped Dorje on the floor. Dorje ran towards her room and started playing with the wool ball lying on the sofa, making growling noises.

"How's my little nephew or nephews?" Ron cooed over, bending slightly to tickle at her round stomach.

"How do you know it's a son? You always say I have a daughter, then why does she have a son?" asked Hermione irritably, wincing slightly as she sat down. Ron went over to her.

"That my dear is because you have a daughter, so Gin will balance it with a son! And I'm quite sure it's a set of twins, whatever her Healer might say," he joked, helping her to sit. Hermione hit him playfully on his arm.

Ginny laughed. "Come on you two, or we'll be late!" she said, moving over to the fridge to take the keys. She settled Dorje in her cot and moved towards the door.

"Anyways, who all is coming?" she asked as they drove to their beach house, hoping she didn't sound too anxious.

Perhaps she didn't. "Only you, Hermione, some of their friends, and me. Shame Harry took a case few days ago, now he can't come," Ron replied, while driving. Ron had learned how to drive the Muggle way. "It's much easier than riding a broom anyways!" he had said later.

Ginny breathed.

The party was an all out bash. Lee, Katie, Oliver, and Penelope also came to the party. Thankfully none of them asked her about her pregnancy.

They had played Truth, Dare and Situation, a funny Muggle game Penelope had learned from one of her friends. Ginny was sad to see Penelope so withdrawn (in a way) from the world. She truly loved Percy, even when he had gotten over his head at the Ministry. After his death, she had gone into a severe depression for nearly a year. When she tried to commit suicide, Mum forced her move on with her life and date someone else. She started seeing Oliver and eventually the two married. Though she was still bright and cheery, she sometimes withdrew suddenly from the world for a second. It pained Ginny that she was still not over her brother's death.

She spotted the Daily Prophet on the table and saw a rather handsome Harry smiling at her from the photo-

THE 'MOST ELIGIBLE BACHELOR' POST NOW FREE!

In a recent interview with Cho Chang, the Special Coresspondent, Harry Potter, the man who killed You-Know-Who admitted that he and his long-term girlfriend, Harriet Jones, (who is a Chaser on the Ireland National Quidditch team) are already engaged to be married on 25th December this year.

Harry Potter's best friend since his first year at Hogwarts, Ronald Weasley (currently playing as Keeper in the England Quidditch Team), is rumoured to be reason of their first meeting. Harry and Harriet (has anyone else noted that their names are so similar?) are reported to have met ten months before and have been dating each other since...

Ginny remembered her. She was the skinny but beautiful copper haired girl Harry had introduced to Ginny, though reluctantly. Ginny had burst into his cabin (she never used to knock on his cabin door) and had caught the pair kissing each other rather too passionately, their hands moving fiercely over each other.

'It looked as if they were glued to each other's lips,' she had later said to Hermione. Hermione also hadn't liked her much, though she hadn't said anything to Harry in fear of hurting his feelings.

Ginny had just moved near Hermione (to confirm the news) with a glass of cold drink, when the front door opened and a wizard with haphazard dressing and a slight beard entered smiling through the door. Ginny let out a gasp and dropped the glass she was holding. In her shocked state she didn't even feel the glass cut through her feet.

"Ginny, all you all right?" Hermione cried and Katie rushed over to her.

It also drew Harry's attention towards her and he locked her eyes with hers. It was the steely green eyes which told her.

He knew it. He knew about the pregnancy.

"Yes, I'm all right," she muttered quickly, placing a healing charm over her feet. Fred suddenly noticed Harry and George accompanied him to greet him. This gave Ginny the chance to escape out to the beach.

She had walked only a few meters away when she saw Harry coming over to her in long strides. She sighed in resignation. There was no way she could now run away from him, especially her present state.

Harry gripped her arm in a gentle, yet strong grip. "Gin, why the hell didn't you tell me?" he asked, his voice clearly controlled, his eyes turning a clear color of sea green. Ginny suppressed the shudder that passed through her.

"I had my reasons," she replied shortly, not turning away but looking at him, drinking in the sight of him.

He still looked handsome. Though he looked like he wasn't taking care of himself during a few months, he had definitely maintained his looks. He was wearing a cool blue shirt with black trousers, looking extremely relaxed, though he clearly wasn't.

"May I know the reasons which kept you from keeping the truth of my child from me?" he demanded.

Ginny didn't even flinch. "I was planning to tell you about our child, but you yourself said you didn't want any child!" she said.

Harry looked surprised. "When did I say that?" he asked.

"HA!" Ginny laughed sourly. "Well, about three months ago, you confessed to me, that 'Luckily, I don't have any kids'! Do you think I would have told you even then, and taken your rejection for it?" she shouted, anger now totally controlling her. "No, Mr. Potter! I do have my dignity, even if you don't think so! I can myself raise my child, without anybody's sympathy. I am capable enough of that. And what is the guarantee that this is your child only?"

Harry shook her hand and pulled her closer roughly. "I see that truth too clearly in you eyes, Gin. As for the confession, I now remember I made it. But I don't want my child to ever wonder about his father. Who he was, and how his life would have been different! Do you understand that, lady?"

"Don't look at me like that, Harry," Ginny said suddenly, withdrawing her eyes and jerking her hands away from him. "Your eyes turn a funny shade when you are angry."

"I should be angry...you hid the fact of my child from me...I shouldn't be celebrating this..."he retorted.

She looked at him, only he was getting foggy. She could feel herself start to shiver and break out in a sweat. Her heart was pounding and she was having hard time breathing. Suddenly the pain was so intense, she cried out as she put her hand on her abdomen. Though Ginny couldn't see clearly, she was pretty sure Harry looked confused. She dreaded the look she knew would be on his face - panic and helplessness. Without warning, Ginny fell onto Harry's arm, her hand pressed on her abdomen. She was gasping for air, but no sound was coming out of her mouth.

Suddenly her visions cleared for a second and she saw herself being carried hurriedly in Harry's arm. He was shouting something, but she couldn't hear him. She tried to say something to him, but a wrenching pain ripped through her body. Back arched, she tried to ride the waves, but they were grabbing hold and sucking her down. She reached for Harry's shirt's collar as the black spots dancing before her eyes converged and she passed from consciousness.
