Chapter 3

After putting Audrey in the backseat, Hermione and Ron got into the driver's and passenger's seat. Ron still didn't like driving, but Hermione enjoyed it.

Turning out of the apartment complex, Audrey said, "Where are we going?"

Ron answered her, "The place we're going to is called Cherry's."

"Cherry's!" Audrey squealed. She paused then said, "I've never been there before. What's it like?"

"Well," Hermione started, "it's sort of fancy." She paused as she looked in the rearview mirror to see if she could turn. "It has a place for eating, and a place to get drinks, and a nice view over this small pond."

"Oooh! Are there animals in the pond?" Audrey asked.

"Geese and ducks, fish probably too," Ron replied.

"I love ducks," Audrey said. The way she said it sounded so serious that Hermione and Ron started laughing. Audrey smiled along with them, not knowing why they were laughing.

"Here we are," Hermione said, pulling up to a building shaped like a fishing house that was on the side of a pond.

"Ooooh," Audrey said, looking out the car window at the fancy lights and ladies dressed in fancy dresses outside.

"Come on out, kiddo," Ron said, opening the car door. Audrey hopped out and linked hands between Ron and Hermione. The three of them walked up to the door, where Ron unlinked his hand from Audrey's and opened the door for them.

"Wow! It's nice in here," Audrey said in awe, looking around the restaurant. There were fake fish (sharks, swardfish, ect.), nets, even a half of a boat coming out of one on the walls.

"Welcome to Candies," a young woman waitress said, walking up to them. "Three?" Ron nodded and she picked up two adult menus, and a child's menu. "A booth or table?"

"Um, booth please," Hermione said. The waitress nodded, and lead them past the bar area to a booth near a window that looked out over the pond. On the way past the bar, Audrey was almost positive that she saw her father sitting there on the other side of bar, but it was hard to tell because that side of the bar was so dark. She pushed it aside.

"Mmmmm!" Audrey exclaimed as her dessert came. She sat at the table next to Hermione. Ron sat on the other side. Audrey had gotten a peonut-butter cup sundae with extra hot fudge, whipped cream and a few cherries. Hermione and Ron had got a four-scoop banana split that they would share.

"That looks good, Audrey," Hermione said, as their waitress brought out the desserts.

Audrey dug into her sundae as soon as it was on the table. Hermione and Ron exchanged looks.

"Is it good Audrey?" Hermione asked.

"Yeah," she said through a mouthful of food.

"Good," Hermione smiled. She turned to Ron and said, "She reminds me of you when you used to eat at Hogwarts."

Ron blushed red. "That's not nice."

"Who said I had to be nice?" Hermione said giving him a sly smile.

Blushing darker, Ron excused himself and when to the restrooms.

"Uncle Ron was really red Aunt Hermione. Why was he like that?" Audrey asked.

"Well, I just teased him a bit, that's all," Hermione said, taking a bite of banana and ice cream.

"I thought teasing wasn't nice," Audrey said, as she shoveled more ice cream into her mouth.

"Certain types are innocent," Hermione said. "And for adults it's a little different."

Ron came back looking normal, and helped Hermione finish their banana split.

Audrey fell asleep on the drive home. Hermione pulled up in front of Ginny's apartment, suddenly remembering that she had left Harry there without a ride.

Oh well, she thought. They probably had a good time.

Ron picked Audrey up and walked up the stairs, Hermione in front of him. She knocked quietly then entered. Harry and Ginny were curled up on the couch watching a movie.

"She's sleeping," Hermione said, nodding to Audrey. Ginny got up and walked with Ron to Audrey's bedroom. Hermione sat on the couch next to Harry. "So what happened?"

"We just talked. She had a lot on her chest with seeing him again. It was a lot of stress," Harry said.

"Mmm, hmmm. I bet," Hermione said.

"So how was dinner?"

"Oh fantastic. I made Ron turn as red as a beet! It was hysterical," Hermione laughed.

"Oh yeah? What about?" Harry asked, smiling.

"His eating habits. Audrey eats just like him."

Harry smiled. Ginny and Ron came back from Audrey's bedroom.

"We should get home," Ron said. Hermione stood up and they all said goodbye. "Harry? You coming?"

"Um. I'll stay here tonight," Harry said, looking at Ginny.

"Ok. Have fun guys," Hermione said, before she and her husband walked out the door.

"You're rather playful tonight," Ron said.

"Is that bad?" Hermione asked.

"Not at all," Ron smiled.

They got into their car and Ron said suddenly:

"I think we should have a kid."

"A child?" Hermione asked shocked.

"Yeah. I mean, you seemed to love looking after Audrey tonight. I mean, Hermione, we've been together forever and I want a family."

"You've never said anything about it before," Hermione said.

"Well, now I am. So what about you? Do you want any kids Mione?" Ron asked hopefully.

Hermione gave a moments pause then smiled. "Yes. That would be nice."

She was walking through a black hallway with doors on both sides. She wanted badly to see what was behind all of them. Maybe it was a pony or a trip to Disney, but she knew she had to get to the door that was at the end of the hallway. She walked for what seemed like hours, sometimes coming close to opening a door or two. She finally got to the end and opened the door. She found herself in a dark room, decorated by green, black, and silver. She turned when she heard a voice call her. She turned but...

Audrey woke up in the middle of the night from a strange dream. She willed herself to go back to sleep to see who had called her but she couldn't seem to. She lay in bed looking up at the glow in the dark stars she had on her ceiling.

What'd you think?
