She was walking through a Muggle grocery store. Yes, she was a witch, but due to the war and the Ministry, all wizards have to shop in Muggle stores.
She walked down and aisle pushing a wire shopping cart. When she stopped to put something in her cart, a sound caught her attention. It was the swish of a cloak. A cloak she knew well. How could she forger? How could she forget all the sleepless nights and kisses, and having to hide it from her friends. It had been 10 years since she had last seen him. And that had been at his graduating ceremony. He had left the school then, and left her to go through another year at school with his baby. After she had had his baby, everyone cast her out, because one look at the newborn and everyone knew who her father was.
That's why, at 26 years old, she lived in a Muggle apartment with her 10 year old daughter.
She tucked a piece of her wild red hair behind her ear, and tried to ignore the swishing sound of his cloak. She walked down an aisle, and started to put a box of cereal in her car. Then, somebody collided into her, and she dropped the box of cereal, and it went all over the floor.
"Sorry," the man who had bumped into her said.
"That's all right," she said. They both stood strait, facing each other.
She looked over him: grey eyes, pale skin, blonde hair, black clothes and cloak.
He looked over her: flaming red hair, brown eyes, and her Muggle clothing.
"Ginny?" he asked.
"Draco?" she asked. Not believing her eyes, she gave him a hug, to make sure she wasn't seeing things.
"Oh, my God," Ginny said. "What are you doing here? I thought that after You-Know-Who was killed all his followers died too."
"I was forced to be a follower, Gin," Draco explained. "That's why I'm still living."
Now that Ginny was over the surprise of seeing Draco, she wanted to know the answers she had thought of theses years.
"Draco," she started.
"Wait," Draco said, grabbing her arm, and starting to walk.
"But. . ."
"Forget about the groceries."
Once outside, Draco pulled her to the side of the store.
"Now talk," he said.
"Why did you leave me all alone after your graduation? I have been cast out for the past 10 years because of you. I mean, think about it Draco, I was only 16."
"Why were you cast out?" he asked.
"Because of your daughter," Ginny said.
"W-what?" Draco stuttered.
"You heard me Draco," Ginny said. "You left me alone with your baby!"
"I-I'm sorry," Draco said.
"And," Ginny started again, "I had to name her myself."
"What'd you name her?" Draco asked.
"I named her Audrey."
Draco just stood, staring at Ginny. Her face was red from anger, and Draco swore he could see steam coming out of her ears. Then her angry expression changed and she started crying. She stood there sobbing, then Draco had her sit on an empty milk cart with him. Ginny cried into his shoulder, and Draco wrapped his arms around her.
It started to rain, by the time Ginny had stopped crying. She pulled back from him and looked at him in the eyes. She saw past all the coldness everyone else saw. She saw deeper into his eyes, and into his heart. She smiled threw her tears, then leaned forward and kissed him. Draco was surprised, and didn't kiss her back at first, but then the kiss turned into a passionate-make-up-for-all-the-missed-kisses-kiss. When Ginny stopped kissing him, all he said was, "Wow." Ginny smiled then got up.
"I didn't know it was raining," she said. "I should get home. Drey will get worried."
Draco got up. "Can I go?"
"Yeah." Then she and Draco started to walk. The usual light grey sidewalk was now dark grey, and the wind was blowing hard. Ginny's red hair was now mahogany, and due to the rain, her blue denim jeans, and pink zip-up sweatshirt were now black and dark pink.
"You're cold," Draco said, unpinning his cloak and putting it on Ginny's shoulders.
"You must be cold too," Ginny said, pulling the cloak around her. It smelt like the rain, and like Draco.
"You get used to being cold when you're a follower of the Dark Lord," Draco said. "You get cold being near him, and eventually become freezing all the way through. Like Dementors. You're just a body, and a freezing soul."
"Oh," Ginny said simply. They walked in silence all the way to Ginny's apartment. It was a six-story brick building with black front doors. "Here it is," Ginny said, walking up the stairs, and opening one of the black doors. "I'm on level four," she said, starting up the stairs. Draco followed her just like a little puppy dog.
"Here we are," she said, stopping in front of a door labeled '102'. She took out her keys, and opened the door.
