Chapter three-Zaneeba's surprise for everyone...

Kamagii watched as Haku transformed into the beautiful dragon. His long white-scaled body, his long white whiskers, and his blue mane shone in the sunlight. Kamagii climbed onto Haku's back, and held on tight to his horns.

Within the blink of an eye, Haku was in the air, flying towards Zaneeba's house at Swamp Bottom.

Kaede walked into the room, carrying a bowl of hot water. She set the bowl down next to Inuyasha, and began to soak a towel in the bowl. She hummed an old town song that has been around for years, while she wiped the towel on Inuyasha's face.

Inuyasha slowly opened his eyes. "Where am I?"

"You're in my home, Inuyasha," Kaede said. "You've been here for two days now. That was quite a beating you took on."

Inuyasha growled. "Why is Kouga so stubborn? Why must he have Kagome?"

Kaede smiled at him. "Don't you worry on that." She set the towel down on his forehead. "Now, sleep. You will be surprised by breakfast in a few hours. Bacon, eggs, and ham okay?"

Inuyasha sighed of relief. "You bet, Kaede!" Inuyasha smiled once Kaede was gone. It felt good to finally be able to eat real food again!

He sat up. Suddenly, there was a gust of wind as the window burst open. Inuyasha, still being too wounded to fight, looked around. If he weren't injured, he'd probably be up and at someone's throat about now.

He growled. "Who's there?" he yelled, hoping someone would hear and come to him.

There was a strange noise, which sounded strangely exactly like an evil laugh, though not from anything he's heard before.

"Don't be frightened little puppy dog," the strange noise said. Inuyasha looked around, but he couldn't see anything, though the room was full of light. "I'm going to be needing your assistance."

"What're you talking about?" barked Inuyasha.

The noise laughed again. "Why, its something called purebloods, have you heard of it?"

Haku and Kamagii landed at the front gate to Zaneeba's small cabin house. She was waiting for them outside with her new arrival to her family, No Face, a tall black spirit with a white mask with nothing on it except for eyeholes, a mouth hole, and purple triangles above and below his eyes. Zaneeba was a small woman with a huge head and an ugly zit on the tip of her extremely large nose. She welcomed them with smiles.

"Haku! Kamagii! Welcome!" she said, walking up to them. "I have news."

Haku and Kamagii bowed their heads. "Yes, we heard," Haku said.

"Oh, really?" Zaneeba said as she led the two into her cabin. "Tea?"

"No, thank you," Kamagii said. "Tell us quickly so we may get back to the bath house. I have water to boil, and Haku here has...um...Yubaba."

Zaneeba nodded. "Yes, I understand, so I'll make this as brief as possible." She turned to the two as No Face sat at the table, eating his cake. Zaneeba motioned for Haku and Kamagii to sit, and they did so. "I had a dream last night," she began. "A dream about the human world. Where Chohiro is from."

"What was this vision, Zaneeba?" Haku said.

"Don't interrupt me, boy," she warned. "I'm getting there right now. I saw a different human world than Chohiro lives in, though. Demons and humans, in Japan occupied this one. I, and another witch, whom I do not know, witnessed this world go to peril. We watched as the demons and humans were slaughtered, burned, drowned, beheaded, tortured, slaved...it was terrible. Then, a group of demons and humans, whom I also do not know, came and saved all the demons and humans. A fierce battle raged, and one of the rescuing humans and the leader of the terrorists fought in a fierce duel. I woke before I knew what happened."

"What does this mean?" Haku asked.

"Hush boy, I'm getting to that. I got up and fixed myself a cup of tea. I never had a dream like that before, and I was frightened. Later on, after I sent word for you, another vision came to me. It was the same witch I was witnessing the terror in my dream. She looked at me, and said, 'We must help these demons and humans.' I asked who she was. 'My name is not of importance right now. That boy, who was in the duel with the leader, he must go to this place and save them all.' I knew what and whom she was talking about. I nodded my agreement.

"'But how?' I asked. 'We do not know where this place is, and we do not know whom this boy is.'

"She laughed at me. 'I know the boy,' she said. 'I can guess the place.'

"After that, we agreed that I send someone whom will know about Japan and its history, that's why I called you two here, now. We need you two to go, retrieve this boy, and go to Feudal Era Japan, and save the humans and demons from terror."

"To the human world?" Haku asked. Zaneeba nodded.

"I cannot," replied Kamagii. "I have the boiler room to look after."

"And I can't go farther than the river," Haku said. "We are sorry, Zaneeba."

Zaneeba nodded. "That is a good reason, Kamagii. Haku, if you know your name, you can get to the human world. I need you to do this. The fate of Feudal Era Japan rest in this boy's hands. It is your job to lead him there. Will you do that, Haku?"

Haku sighed, but nodded. He couldn't get past the river, and even if he could, he wouldn't be able to get to the human world. He was a river spirit, and spirits belonged in the spirit world, not the human world.

*---*

Harry ran to the door as the doorbell rang. Just like Hermione to not come by fireplace.

He opened the door, and Hermione thrust the books into his hands. "We must get started immediately," she said, walking back to her car. She grabbed more books, and followed Harry into his salon.

"Anything to drink?" Harry offered as he set the books down on the coffee table.

"No time, we must get started. I've called Ron, and he's decided to take some time away from Lavender and come help us, for once."

Harry laughed as he heard a loud rumbling noise. Ron suddenly appeared at the fireplace.

"I don't know why I'm here to study, again!" he said as he slumped on Harry's couch.

"Well, you didn't have to come," Hermione said, reading in a huge, dusty world history book.

"Well, you didn't say I would be studying!" Ron countered.

"Then why are you here?"

"Because after I agreed to come here, Lavender told me to come and help STUDY. You told her but you didn't tell me?"

"I knew you wouldn't agree to it if I told you we were going to study muggle history."

"How do you know its muggle history?" Harry asked.

Hermione looked up at him. "I've read almost every wizarding history book, and they all say the same. It's going to be a muggle history."

Harry shrugged and grabbed a newer looking book. Ron groaned and grabbed the smallest book there was in the pile. Just as he opened the book and read the first word ("THE") Harry's doorbell rang once again.

Harry looked at Hermione. "How many people were you going to invite?"

"Well, Viktor said he was going to come later on..." Hermione saw the death looks both Harry and Ron were giving her. "I'm just kidding! I only invited Ron."

Harry looked at her once more and stood up to answer the door. He sighed as he opened the door. He wasn't expecting visitors that day, he just wanted a nice day with his friends. As he looked out the door, he saw a man, about his height, with shoulder length teal blue hair, and green eyes. His skin was pale, and he stood with such poise, it made Harry feel like a crumpled, slouching man.

"Yes?" Harry said, straightening up. "May I help you?"

"Harry Potter?" the man said, with a strange accent. He sounded as if he was speaking with a Japanese accent.

"Yes?"

The man gave Harry a small smile. He held out his hand. "I'm Haku. The river spirit of the Kohaku River."
