Chapter 17 - caught in action

Melly and Draco began walking inside.

"Why did you snap?" Draco asked. Melly raised an eyebrow and looked at him. "I mean, when you went to tell him that you were going outside?"

"Oh! Well, when you told me that he was in there, and then my mother told me about what happened, and then you told me that he left me and didn't care for me...I just snapped. I was thinking about it while walking down the hallway, and I felt it time to tell him my feelings. Was that wrong?"

"Not for you. I keep forgetting that he can't hurt you."

"I sometimes forget as well."

They walked inside, and heard Lucius and Voldemort were still talking in the parlor. The two were a little disappointed in not being able to go into the dungeon.

They decided to walk upstairs and wait until the older men were done talking. They ended up in Draco's room. Melly sighed and fell on his bed (a four poster canopy bed with green, silk sheets and blanket). Draco smirked at her.

"I haven't been outside in so long! I felt trapped in here!" She sat up and smiled at him. "How can you stand being inside for long periods of time?"

"Practice." He walked and sat down on the bed next to her. "Well? What do you want to do?"

'Jump on him! Kiss him until he can't breathe! Spend the night with him! Prove to yourself that you aren't in a dream, and that you're really going to marry him, and that you love each other!'

'Mother, shut up, before someone hurts you.'

'Like me!'

'Oh, Severus, you don't even know what we're talking about.'

'And I prefer for it to stay that way, thank you.'

"Well," Melly started, trying hard to ignore her mother and Severus again, "we haven't exactly planned out how we're going to get them out."

Draco nodded. He didn't like talking about them, but was successful in hiding it. "Fine. When should we start?"

"Well, Voldemort is getting restless. He can't wait any longer for Harry's decision. It'll have to be soon."

"How about tonight?"

"Tonight? That's too soon, don't you think?"

"No. All we have to do is wait until at least two tomorrow morning, and have them all sneak out to the apparation dungeons, and they can all apparate away. Easy."

"Not so. Mala is a muggle girl."

"Then we'll set her free in the gardens. She knows her way after that. See? Easy as pie."

"You just can't make any adventure out of anything, can you?"

"We can have Journey put a sleeping spell on everyone else in the house, and so when the prisoners are gone, we can run amuck, mess up the house, and then escape, with Journey of course."

"I never thought you were right in saying you had no imagination. You just confirmed it."

"So?"

"I like it."

"Great! Now, what to do until those two dull old men stop talking?" He looked around his room. "Not much to do in here."

Melly shrugged. "Journey!" she snapped.

The little house-elf appeared, bowing at Melly's feet. "What does Miss Malfoy wish?"

"Go tell them, down in the dungeon, that we're planning on the escape happening tonight. Okay?"

"Yes, Miss Malfoy."

"Journey?"

"Yes, Miss Malfoy?"

"Stop calling me 'Miss Malfoy'."

"What would Miss rather me call her?"

"Melly."

"Miss Melly?"

"Yes."

Journey nodded, and popped away.

"Now what?" Draco asked.

---

"Lucius, you know I'm getting impatient."

"Yes, my lord."

"Has she finished?"

"I do not know, my lord. She and Draco have been spending a lot of time down there since the last meeting between you and the Potter boy. I think it should be soon."

"It will be soon."

"Yes, my lord."

"Tonight."

"My lord?"

"When I call a meeting tonight, I want you, Draco, and Melly to bring the five of them. Understand?"

"Yes, my lord."

---

"Miss Melly?"

"Yes, Journey?" Melly sat up, Draco following suit.

"Theys done talking, Miss Melly."

"Thank you, Journey."

Journey bowed and popped away. Melly and Draco stood up off the bed, which they had just previously messed up by their two second pillow fight. They walked out of the room, and down to the dungeon.

---

Ron lay, looking up at the ceiling. Tonight? They were going to get out of this dreadful place tonight. Of course, for all he knew, it could be twenty-four hours from then. Or, it could be two hours. He wasn't so into what time it was on the outside world anymore.

But still...they were going to get out of this wretched place tonight! He would finally be free! Along with Melly at his side, and maybe a few kids. Of course, he didn't know if it was the right time to be thinking about that at the moment, but he could dream, right?

'Let's see,' he thought. 'Ron Jr., Melly Jr., I'll be nice and name one Harry Jr., too. But then, that would leave the other five nameless..."

"Ron?"

"Melly!" Ron pumped up and headed to the door. She was there, smiling at him. She was smiling! At him! That never happened! Well, not since they'd been here. "Hey," he said, smiling back.

"Ready to get out of here?" she asked him.

"More than anything."

The sound of doors opening brought him back to the environment. Soon, Harry, Mala, and Malfoy were standing behind Melly. She smiled at him, and opened the door. He couldn't hold it in, he swung the door open, and grabbed Melly in his arms.

Malfoy cleared his throat, and Melly pushed herself away from Ron only enough to look at Malfoy.

He smirked his annoying Malfoy smug-like smirk. "We'll leave you two alone, then," he said, covering Mala's eyes and leading the other two the kitchens.

Melly couldn't help it. She giggled, which caused Ron to chuckle. He looked down at her, his eyes pleading.

"Is it tonight yet?" he asked.

"Well, Draco does have to go get the others ready," Melly answered, pulling him out of the cell. "And then, he, Journey, and myself are going to cast sleeping charms on everyone. After we're certain that no one will wake up, we all run about the screaming at the top of our lungs, and then we'll leave." She looked up at him just as they reached the door to the kitchen.

"Aren't we going in?" Ron asked.

Melly looked down the corridor, to the place Lucius had to once call home for a few years.

---

"Where's Ron?"

Draco sighed in irritation. This had to be the tenth time that annoying auror asked where Weasley was. This would also be the tenth time he would answer, "I don't have the slightest clue!" Only, this time, he added, "Now, if you ask again, I'll make sure to put a glitch in the spell, and you'll be sleeping along with the rest of the house, while we all escape!"

"You wish, Malfoy," Affinity replied. "As soon as you and that other one are out of here, you're under arrest, and will be sent to Azkaban, no trial."

"That's not fair!" Draco replied.

"I have many witnesses, you don't need a trial. Besides, you've been labeled as a Death Eater, and Death Eaters do not get trials."

Draco slowly went for his wand. "Why did you bring her here, Granger?" he growled, glaring at Affinity, who copied his actions and went for her wand. "She's been nothing but a hassle since you've been here."

"I had to take her with me," Hermione replied, eyeing the two warily. "I wasn't about to step foot inside a Death Eaters home without some sort of protection."

"And now, since we now that this is, for a fact, a Death Eater home," interjected Affinity, "this place will be crawling with aurors by morning."

"How do you know it isn't morning now?" Draco smirked.

"Then we wouldn't be here if it was," Mala piqued up. She looked at Hermione. "What are they doing?"

Draco and Affinity have now grasped their wands and were both ready to draw when the other drew.

Hermione sighed. "I don't know," she answered, loud enough for the two to hear. "But if they don't quit, someone is going to get hurt, and it won't be caused by either Draco or Affinity." She had already pulled out her wand incase there would be a fight.

"You forget, Holder," Draco said. "I'm a Death Eater. You're not the least bit scared that I'll use dark magic on you?"

"I was trained to withstand anything you throw at me."

"Even Cruciatus?"

"Especially Crutiatus."

Draco pointed his wand at Affinity, who immediately did the same. "Want to test your knowledge?"

"Bring it."

"Expelliarmus!" Hermione shouted. Draco and Affinity's wands flew towards her, and she caught them. She handed one to Harry, and one at Mala. "Whatever you do, always point them away from anyone," she told Mala, while glaring at the other two.

Mala nodded, gulped nervously, and pointed the wands behind her towards the wall. Harry pointed Affinity's wand at Draco. Finally, he had the upper hand.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Hermione hissed at them. Affinity and Draco looked at her apologetic. "Do you want to ruin our only chance at escaping? Draco, if you cast Cruciatus at its full force, then everyone would hear Affinity, and we would be ruined. Affinity, if you did withstand the curse, and threw something back, we'd be in deep dung. I want out of here as much as the next person, but we have to all work together to get it. Understand you two?"

The two nodded, looked down, and apologized.

Suddenly, the door swung open.

"Draco! What the hell is going on here?" someone bellowed.

Draco straightened up. This couldn't be happening!

"And what is that mudblood doing pointing her wand at you? Potter! What are you doing out of your cell?"

Draco saw Hermione back up against the wall, Mala right next to her. Hermione held her wand at the stranger. Harry glared at the stranger, the wand still pointed at Draco.

"Where is your wand!?"

Draco turned around. "It's not with me?"

"Draco!"

---

Melly gasped and pushed Ron off her.

"What's wrong?" Ron asked, breathing heavily.

Melly threw herself on the door, her ear pressed up against the door.

"And what is that mudblood doing pointing her wand at you?"

Melly shook her head. "Ron, stay here," she said as she opened the door and ran out.

"Melly?" Ron called. He knew he should've stayed, but he ran anyways. He nearly ran into her as she stopped suddenly.

"Melly? Have I gone totally mad?" Lucius bellowed.

Melly swallowed. "W-what do you mean?" she asked.

Ron stared wide-eyed at Lucius.

Lucius's hand was still hidden from the room he just came out of. He pulled his hand, and Harry fell on the ground at their feet, Mala, Hermione, and Affinity falling after him; a magical rope bound them all. Draco slowly walked out, his head down, his left hand in his pocket, his right hand holding three wands. He looked up at Melly apologetically.

Lucius held his wand at Ron. Suddenly, Ron flew at the clamber of people on the floor.

"Let me go!" Ron shouted.

"Would you care to explain this?" Lucius demanded of Draco and Melly.
