Here's chapter 2...That didn't take long now, did it?

Chapter Two- A Dangerous Mission

Melly appeared right in front of Malfoy Manor. She clutched her arm as she ran inside. What did he want now? Did it have to hurt so much?

She discarded the bag of rolls and croissants by the door to the kitchen, and slowly tried to walk to Lucius's dungeons. She didn't get very far; her arm hurt so much, she collapsed on the couch in Lucius's parlor.

She groaned and gasped for breath. Suddenly, it stopped. She took this opportunity to get into the dungeons, where she knew where Voldemort was waiting for her.

She quickly ran down the long eerie hall of the dungeons until she came to the house part of the dungeons. She ran into the library, and saw Lucius - who was now back to normal, his face no longer sucked into his skull, and his hair long and smooth - and Voldemort talking. They stopped talking just as Melly entered the room, both having grave looks on their faces. She looked between the two, hoping beyond all hope that she wasn't in trouble.

In her mind, she and Faith tried to think of something that she might have done wrong. To no avail, they couldn't think of anything. So, they decided that she was innocent of all crimes, because she didn't do anything.

Finally, Voldemort stood up. "Melly," he snapped. "What did you think you were doing?"

Melly shook her head. "I don't understand. What?"

Lucius stood up behind Voldemort and walked up to her. "You almost gave yourself away!" he scolded. "You know that Weasley is close to Potter! You know that! What if he turned on you, and captured you?"

Melly bit her lip. She knew exactly what he was talking about. She bowed her head, not wanting to argue, although she knew perfectly well that Ron wouldn't do anything to her.

"You're supposed to be dead," Voldemort whispered hoarsely. "How can we go on with you running around London, jumping into anyone's arms that you please? And what's worse? Potter himself practically had his wand pointing right at you!"

Melly nodded.

"If your mother wasn't inside of you right now, I swear I would have you praying for death right now," Voldemort hissed.

"Yes, Father," Melly whispered.

"And don't call me Father! I'm your master. Lucius is your Father."

Melly nodded. "Yes, Master," she corrected.

Voldemort nodded. "You may go."

Melly sighed as she walked back into the parlor, and walked to the kitchen. She grabbed the bag of bread, and walked into the kitchen, where many house-elves were bustling about, preparing the food for tonight's dinner party. Melly sat the bread on the counter.

"Anything else?" she asked a random house-elf that scurried past her. The elf shook its head, and continued bustling about. Melly nodded, and decided to go to her room.

She looked at her self in the mirror. She didn't look anything like herself back at Hogwarts. She shook her head, and decided to change some more. Was it the eyes? She pointed her wand at her face, and muttered an eye color changing spell. Her eyes were now a gray color, and they absorbed blue and violet. She decided to change her hair, only a little bit, so it was now grayer. She looked at herself in the mirror. She now looked like an old woman with no wrinkles. Good.

---

Harry patted Ron's shoulder. Ron stared blankly at the spot where Melly had just occupied no more than two seconds ago! She wasn't dead, that was a relief! But then, she didn't seem like herself. Wait, how could she not seem like herself? She practically knocked him over when she jumped onto him.

"She's alive," Ron whispered.

Harry sighed. "Yes, she is alive. But, she might as not be to you." Ron gave him a quizzical look. Harry sighed and rolled his eyes. "I think we should get to the ministry."

Two seconds later, they found themselves in the ministry, by Ron's desk. Ron looked nervously at Harry as he rummaged around his desk, looking for something. He picked up a file, and showed it Ron. It was the file of Draco Malfoy that Affinity had given him five days earlier.

"I have seen this stupid file for more than I need to!" Ron hissed through gritted teeth.

"So, you've noticed that Malfoy is engaged?" Ron nodded his head. "Do you know to whom?" Ron shook his head.

Harry nodded. "I knew that. That's why I've taken the liberty of going to Hermione and asking for a young Malfoy that would live here in England. She came up with him, and a Melly Malfoy."

Ron threw the file on the desk. "Damn it! I don't care about a Melly Malfoy! I don't care about any Malfoy! I only care about my Melly!"

Harry shook his head. "She doesn't care about you!" Harry bellowed back. Many other aurors were surrounding or straining their ears so they could hear. "Your Melly is marrying Malfoy!"

Ron looked like he just got slapped. Might as well have. "How do you know?" he asked in a quieted tone.

"Just knowing the things she said back in school, Ron," Harry replied before going to his own cubicle.

Ron looked at Malfoy's laughing face, his own face growing red with anger. Now way could Melly want to marry him! He picked up the file, and walked to Shacklebolt's office.

---

Melly sighed as she glanced at her laid out clothes for that night. She was to go with Draco. She didn't want to, and neither did he. Oh well. They both agreed to leave each other alone for the whole night until it was time to leave so Draco could go snog Sherry in some random room of the house.

She put the dark green dress robe over her head, and smoothed it out as fell over her body and onto the floor. She didn't like the color of green as much as she like the color of dark blood red, but green was what Lucius had ordered her and Draco to where.

She smoothed it out some more, and picked at the invisible specks of dust that velvet seemed to grasp. She didn't like the look of her hair and her clothes together; it made her look like Lucius. She looked around and grabbed her wand and pointed it at her hair. Maybe dark reddish purple? No, black? No, dark blue. That's perfect! She smiled at herself in the mirror.

Very lovely! Faith exclaimed. Better than the blonde if I do say so myself.

Melly smiled at her mother's compliment. I inherited it from you, my true hair color. How did you do that, any ways?

Don't you worry about that now, and hurry up and finish getting dressed. Lucius will be expecting you to be down there in five minutes.

How do you know?

I just do!

Melly sighed. Ever since she lost the connection between Snape, her conversations with her mother were always mother/daughter conversations. She missed her telepathy conversations with Snape dearly. If only they knew that hitting him with Stupefy would lose their telepathic powers. Maybe she could ask Voldemort if he can give them telepathy again.

What if Snape won't agree to it? Faith asked.

He will, I assure you. Melly nodded to herself in the mirror, and walked out of the room, twisting her hair in her wand as she walked downstairs, curling her now blue hair.

---

Harry nodded at him, indicating that he was ready to leave. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Harry asked. "There could be another way and another time to catch Malfoy."

"Tonight is perfect," Ron said rummaging through his messy apartment. Clothes were scattered everywhere, and he couldn't seem to find his black tie. "Have you seen my black tie anywhere?" Ron called from his room.

Harry picked up his tie off the arm of the chair that he was sitting in. "This it?" he called back.

Ron's head appeared from his room, and nodded. He walked to Harry, grabbing the tie, and wrapping it around his neck.

"Got your disguise?" Harry asked.

Ron nodded, walking to his equally messy kitchen. He opened the freezer, and got out a vial with dark blue liquid contained in it. He closed the freezer door with such force it caused Harry to flinch.

Ron finished tying his tie, and held up the vial at Harry. Harry stood up and walked to him, holding up his vial as well. They nodded, popping the stopper off, and dowsed the drink done.

Harry and Ron felt like they were going to barf. If they thought Polyjuice potion was bad, they defiantly weren't ready for the advanced version of it. They looked at each other and nodded.

Ron now had brown hair that was shorter than his usual red hair. His eyes were blue, and his skin was lighter than usual.

Harry's scar had gone. Even if it didn't go, no one would have been able to see it with his blond hair falling in front of his brown almost black eyes. His skin was also paler than anyone had ever seen it.

They nodded at each other, and disapparated. As they arrived in the dungeons they were instructed to apparate to, feelings that Ron hadn't felt for four years came back to him. Harry looked at him.

"Ron, you okay?" he asked. "You're shaking. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea anyway."

Ron shook his head. "No, it's fine. I'm just nervous. I've never crashed a party before. Especially one with Merlin knows how many Death Eaters. For all we know, you-know-who could be here."

Harry nodded. "Thank you for the lack of self confidence!" he scolded.

Ron nodded. "No problem."

Harry nodded. "Now, just think this party as one you've been to before, and you want to know everyone. Deal? We'll be trailing Malfoy though."

Ron nodded. Although, this was a good plan, it wasn't why he was nervous. He remembered the feelings in his stomach. The War of Butterflies indicated only one thing: Melly was going to be there.

"We have until midnight," Harry said, walking through the door that led out of the dungeons.

---

Lucius stood up at the head of the table, clinging his wineglass with his spoon to get everyone's attention. As soon as everyone quieted down, he smiled.

"I'd like to make a toast to my son and goddaughter whom yet have to join us," he said.

Ron looked around the table, and noticed that the only guests that were there were Death Eaters. He saw Snape, no surprise there. He saw Pansy, looking even more beautiful than she did at Hogwarts, with Goyle on her right, and Crabbe on her left. There were two seats empty, and Sherry sat on the other side of the empty seats. Sherry didn't seem too happy about the toast to Draco and Melly.

Lucius continued. "I would also like to toast our Master Voldemort, who will be joining us shortly." He smiled brightly at everyone. Ron and Harry could have sworn they felt shivers run down his spine at that smile. "Now, if you'll excuse us," he said as he helped Narcissa up to her feet, "we will go fetch the two whom this party is for."

Narcissa and Lucius exited the room, leaving everyone in there to talk and get acquainted. Ron looked around again. He saw that Sherry had her head bowed, and saw something drop into her glass. She lifted her head, and he saw that she had crying.

Did she really feel that way about Draco? Were they that serious with each other?

Suddenly everyone was hushed as Lucius and Narcissa returned. Narcissa sat down, but Lucius remained standing. He held his hand out towards the dining hall doors whence they emerged from. "Death Eaters of Lord Voldemort, bow your heads as our master joins us."

Ron looked around, and saw that everyone had his or her heads bowed. He and Harry did they same. Ron looked at Harry and noticed that he was near breakdown at the moment. His scar was hurting badly, and he couldn't help shaking in pain. Ron heard him gasp.

Harry glanced at Ron as the pain in the scar subsided, and a nice happy feeling came from it. Voldemort was happy, that didn't happen often.

They raised their heads as everyone else did, and they had to use every piece of their body to not jump at the sight of Lord Voldemort at the opposite end of Lucius. Voldemort's skin was as white as ever, and his eyes were livid red. He stayed standing as Lucius held up his glass of wine at him, and everyone did the same.

Lucius then held his glass towards the dining hall doors once again. "And now, fellow Death Eaters, my Lord, my son, Draco, and Master Voldemort's daughter, Melly, shall join us."

Ron and Harry looked towards the door, and noticed that everyone was standing, so they did as well. Ron's breath was caught in his throat as he looked upon Melly. He was surprised to see her the way she looked when they last laid eyes on each other at Hogwarts.

Her blue hair curly, almost like Hermione's had been. Her long green velvet evening dress flowed all the way to the ground. The dress hugged every curve of her body, as did the outfit she wore at the Valentine's Day ball at Hogwarts. He didn't like the look on her face although. She didn't seem happy, even as she smiled.

Draco didn't look too happy about the occasion as well. He had one of his hands in his pocket, and his and Melly's arms were linked together. Draco's suit was all black except for the shirt he wore.

Ron stole a glance at Sherry and saw that she licking her lips at Draco, and her smirking as she studied him up and down.

As soon as Draco and Melly arrived at their seats, Draco next to Sherry and Melly next to Crabbed, everyone sat down as food appeared on their plates. Apparently, Hogwarts isn't the only place that has the magical appearing food, Ron thought.

Ron didn't see Melly smile, only once. Melly leaned forward and got Pansy's attention. She whispered something to Pansy, who looked from Crabbe to Goyle and then back to Melly. Pansy shrugged her shoulders and they laughed.

What Ron would've given to hear her laugh again? He saw her steal glances at him and Harry every once in a while.

The plates were cleared away, and everyone sat and waited for either Lucius or Voldemort to speak. Finally, Lucius stood up.

"Well, now that everyone is finished, please, make yourselves comfortable."

Voldemort quickly stood up, motioned for Lucius and Snape to follow him, and the three of them left swiftly. The rest of the guests followed suit.

Melly and Draco quickly stood up and exited the room, Sherry and Pansy hot on their heels.

Harry looked at Ron, who looked after them, and patted his shoulder. Harry nodded, and they, too, stood up and left after Melly and the others. They found the four outside on the front porch, talking and laughing. Ron wanted to run away and hide when he saw Draco grab Sherry and start making out with her; kissing her neck, her lips, anywhere he could get to.

Melly and Pansy laughed at them. "Help! Sherry's getting attacked!" Melly teased. Draco and Sherry paid no mind. Melly leaned over to Pansy, and whispered in her ear.

Pansy nodded, and they walked off towards the gardens.

Harry leaned over to Ron. "The unsuspecting ones who are close to the house? Or the two unsuspecting ones who are away from the house?"

"Away from the house," Ron answered quickly.

Harry nodded, and they walked outside, careful as to not to disturb Draco and Sherry, but was unsuccessful. Ron looked over at Draco, and saw that he was staring right back at him, as was Sherry. Ron bowed his head. "Sorry, Master Malfoy," he whispered. Harry did the same, and they walked off.

Harry shook his head and spat. "Be damned if I ever say that again!"

Ron agreed. They walked silently so they could hear any noises coming from Melly and Pansy, which they did. Harry and Ron hid behind a bush.

"Why would I want Goyle?" Pansy said. "He's tall, he's fat, and he's stupid!"

"But, he's strong, and he knows a lot of curses, hexes, dark magic..." Melly put in.

Pansy sighed dreamily. "I know. And his hair! Oh his hair!"

"Is always greasy, just like Severus's," Melly said. Ron noted that Melly said Snape's name funny, kind of...dreamily? No, he was just imagining it. Right?

"And then, there's Crabbe," Pansy said, ignoring Melly's remark about Goyle's hair. "He's short, he's fat, he's stupid..."

"Practically just a shorter version of Goyle," Melly said as their voices were dying away. Ron and Harry slowly snuck closer so they could hear the two girls talking.

"What're you going to do?" Melly asked Pansy.

Pansy sighed. "I've never kissed them before. I wonder what they kiss like. I'll go find out. Coming?"

"No! I'd much rather stay here than watch you make out with Crabbe and Goyle. I'll see you."

Harry and Ron ducked down behind a bush as Pansy came rushing by. Harry looked over at Ron. "A person job for one person," he whispered. Ron didn't know what he meant until Harry got up and went after Pansy.

Ron's eyes grew wide, and he shook his head. He couldn't face Melly! Not like this! What would he say? He didn't want to just walk up to her and curse her! What would he do with her? He was surrounded by Death Eaters, so what was he to do? Make conversation? That sounded like a reasonable plan. Make conversation with her, and curse her later. Logical. What would he say? What would she say? What time was it? How long before Harry got back with Pansy? How long before the potion wore off? How long -

"May I help you?" Melly asked, breaking his thoughts. Ron blinked and found that he was now standing next to Melly, who was sitting on a bench. Ron looked around and saw they were a fair ways from the house. He sighed.

"You don't look too happy," he said. He smiled at her.

Melly shook her head, and looked away. "I'm not that happy."

Ron sighed again. "Catch your husband kissing that one girl?"

Melly shook her head. "He's not my husband, and I don't care if he kisses her. I'm the one who got them together in the first place. 'That one girl' is my best friend."

"Are you mad at her?"

"No! Why would I be? I'm glad that they found love within each other," she said, her eyes having a far away look. "I wish I could love someone in our regime," she mumbled.
She hoped that he didn't hear her, which he hadn't.

Ron noticed that there was room for him to sit next to her. Does he dare? How would he feel? Would he be able to control how happy he would have been that he finally got to sit next to her again? Why did Harry leave Melly to Ron?

"Would you like to sit down?" Melly asked, now looking at him.

Ron smiled at her, and nodded his head, sitting down next to her. He looked at her. She seemed even more beautiful up close. He now saw almost every inch of her that she would allow. He was glad it was summer, or else he wouldn't be able to look at her bare shoulders again.

"If it isn't Draco, then what's the matter? If you don't mind my asking," Ron said. He tried, with every fiber in his body, not to touch her. He succeeding, thankfully.

Melly sighed heavily. "I wish I could be like Draco and Sherry." She smiled as she looked off into the distance.

"With whom, may I ask?"

Melly shook her head, and smiled widely, her teeth showing. "I can't say. It isn't that I don't want to. It was just a teenage girl thing. Thought I was in love. The Dark Lord and Lucius persuaded me that I wasn't. Thankfully, I wasn't killed when they found out I was in depression over him."

"Who's 'him'?" Ron asked. He wanted to hear his name from her lips again. He wanted her eyes to sparkle when she looks at him again.

"They persuaded me, but that feeling came back."

"I have a feeling you don't want to tell me who this 'him' is," Ron said amusingly.

"His name is Ron Weasley," she said immediately.

Ron swallowed hard, and, remembering who he was, he said, "A Weasley?"

Melly nodded. "Sounds crazy, I know. I can't believe I had feelings for him."

Ron felt like he was breaking. Was she ashamed? "You never liked him?"

"Are you kidding?" she said, smiling as widely as she could at him. "He was the first boy I ever loved!" She looked back out in the distance, her smile slowly fading. "I knew it was going to end soon. I knew I shouldn't have gotten my feelings overwhelmed by him. It was all Potter's fault," she said with venom. She shook her head. "I shouldn't say that. I know that Potter's our enemy, but Ron was his best friend, and Potter didn't trust me. I tried as much as I could to get him to trust me." She looked back at Ron, into his eyes, narrowing her own eyes at him. "Are you new?"

Ron gulped, and nodded. "Just got here from - ah - France. Yes, just came here from France."

"You speak French?"

"No. Not that much. I wasn't there for long."

Melly nodded and smiled at him. She looked down at his mouth and back up at his eyes. She got closer to him. "You know, you remind me a lot of Ron," she said, quieter. She smiled sweetly at him, and got closer.

"That's a good thing, I presume?" Ron said, smirking. He had to hold it in. Pretend that he's a random Death Eater who has taken a fancy to her. Act charming and haughty! He leaned closer to her.

Melly nodded, closing her eyes, and she softly placed her lips to his. Ron wanted to do a happy dance! He missed her so much! He missed her kisses, the touch of her warm skin, and everything about her. He placed a hand on her cheek as she opened her mouth, and he did also. They were lost in each other's kiss.

Melly thought that this man whom she does not know kissed a lot like Ron. She backed away from him, smiling still. She looked into his eyes, and saw that the color of them changed. His blue eyes were now brown. She opened her mouth in astonishment.

"Melly!" someone called from behind Ron. He turned around and saw that Sherry was running up to them. Sherry caught sight of Ron, and nodded at him. She turned to Melly. "Lucius and the Dark Lord wants you."

Melly nodded. "I'll be right there." She turned back to Ron.

Why does he remind me of him, mum? she asked.

The eyes?

The kiss...

Melly, you should go, don't want to keep Lucius waiting.

Melly smiled at him, and stood up to leave. Ron grabbed her wrist without meaning to. She turned to him, Sherry walking away. Ron looked at her, wanting to savior that moment forever. Did she really have to leave? Melly smiled and helped him stand up. He towered above her, like always. She leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Before anything more could happen, she pulled away and was now running towards the house.

Ron watched her run. Was she falling in love with this man who wasn't him? He couldn't let that happen! He put his hands in his pockets, and walked back to the house.

Harry was waiting for him by the door. Ron looked at him, and then walked inside. He saw Melly, Draco, and Lucius all talking. Lucius nodded, and left them. Draco nodded at Melly, and left her.

Ron leaned on the doorframe that led to the dungeons. Did he dare go now? He had to. He couldn't stand the fact that she was falling for him, only it wasn't him. He looked at her, and saw her surveying the hall and everyone in it. She lingered on him for a while, and continued. He nearly gasped out loud when he saw Lucius come back to her from behind. Lucius placed his hands on her neck, brushed away her hair, and let his hands move down to her shoulders.

He leaned forward. "I have a present for you," he whispered in her ear. Melly turned and looked at him. She loved presents. Lucius held out his hand, and she took it, leading her into the parlor.

Ron looked at Harry, who was witnessing the same thing. Ron walked to the parlor, and stopped just outside the door, hiding himself so no one could see him from inside.

Melly gleamed at the small box that held the necklace. "It was my mother's," Lucius said to her. He grabbed the necklace, placed the box on the table, and walked to her. She grabbed her hair out of the way as he hooked it around her neck.

Lucius and Melly looked at her necklace. Lucius had his hands on her shoulders, smiling at her. "How do you like it?" he asked her.

Melly couldn't say anything. It was so beautiful! She simply shook her head slightly. "No words can describe it!" she breathed.

Lucius nodded. "I knew you'd like it."

He smiled at Voldemort, who nodded. He turned back to Melly. "That isn't all, my dear," Lucius said. Melly gave him a puzzled look. Lucius walked to the door (Ron having enough sense not to eavesdrop any longer), and snapped at Draco.

Draco nodded, and Lucius closed the door again. He smiled at Melly, who unsurely smiled back. She looked from Voldemort, back to Lucius as she heard a knock from the door.

Lucius smirked. "I wonder who that could be," he said in a sarcastic voice. He opened the door, and saw the man she kissed earlier, another man whom she did not know, and Draco all walked in the room. "Thank you, Draco. You may go."

Draco looked at Melly, and then left, closing the door behind him.

Ron looked over at Harry, who was trying not show how much his scar hurt. He began shaking. Ron looked back a Voldemort, and wanted to die looking at his smirking face. He then looked at Melly, who looked as surprised as he was, being called in there.

Voldemort stood up. "Dearest, I give these two to you," he said. Melly looked back and forth between Voldemort and Harry and Ron (whom she still did not know). "You may do what you like with them." He walked up to Harry, and placed a finger on Harry's forehead. "Except, whatever you do, do not kill this one. That is my job."

Harry and Ron paled, since their skin color was returning. So, Voldemort knew who they were?

Melly nodded, not quite understanding. "Why are you giving them to me?" she asked.

Voldemort whipped around. "Do not question me!" he bellowed. Melly bowed her head almost instantly and nodded. "Take this one to Weasley's old cell," he said, indicating Ron. He turned to Harry. "Put this one in the cell next to it. I don't care which cell next to it, just as long as he is next to him."

Melly nodded. She looked at Lucius, who smiled at her. "Hope you and Draco are happy together."

With that, Voldemort and Lucius left the room, leaving the three of them alone.

"What is this?" Melly demanded of Ron, her face red in frustration.

"I - I don't know," he answered.

Melly shook her head. "Right - " she held out her wand at Harry, and stupefied him. She then stupefied Ron.
