Prologue

"What on earth is all that noise Lily?" Lynn Miller asked.

"What do you think?" Lily Evans answered. "It's the Marauders. Isn't it obvious?" She was reading a book from Shakespeare. "I wouldn't be surprised if one of them came crashing into our compartment..."

At that moment, a very tall, heavy, and black haired boy came crashing through the door. Lynn glared at Lily. The boy got up. It was Sirius Black.

"Prongs! Totally uncool!" He called. He looked at the two girls. "Sorry," he mumbled then left.

"You're such a jinx Lily," Lynn said.

As if by cue, James Potter stumbled in. "Hi, Lily," he said breathlessly. He smiled at her.

Lynn glared at Lily again. Lily gave James one of her fake smiles. Lynn almost burst out laughing when she saw James go pale and stumble. She stood up and walked to James.

"What? No hi to me?" she asked. She started to gather up some tears and try to cry...and she was successful. "Typical. You say hi to her, but not me!" She pushed him out and fixed and closed the door. She and Lily began laughing hysterically.

"He is so air headed!" Lily said as soon as they caught their breaths. "You know, you sound exactly like Moaning Myrtle when you fake cry."

Lynn shook her head. "No, you're wrong on that. They're all air headed. Thanks, I've been practicing."

Lily agreed and went back to reading her book on Shakespeare. Lynn got her robes on, and started to read the book Lily was reading when Lily got her robes on.

"Hex me for saying this, but part of me misses the muggle world," Lynn said as she read from Romeo and Juliet. " 'Romeo, Romeo. Where for art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name.' Yes, do that Romeo, and get yourself suicidal."

"I sometimes miss it as well." Lily sat down and looked out the window. "The entire reason why their lives end up in hell is because of Juliet. Need I say more?"

Lynn shook her head again. "You're thinking of Westside Story. It was all Maria's fault that Tony died. Tony, Nardo, and Riff. No! Riff!"

The sun was almost all the way set when a knock was heard from the door. Lily got up and opened it to reveal a red faced Severus Snape. As soon as Lynn saw him, she dropped the book and ran to him. He had "revenge" written all over his face.

"What happened this time?" Lily asked as she sat back down and picked up her book from the floor. Snape and Lynn sat next to each other in front of her.

"Don't talk," Lynn ordered. "I know what the first thing that comes out of your mouth will be. So, don't. What do you think happened Lily?"

"I was hoping it was something else this time."

Lynn stared at an empty space in front of her. What always takes Sev's mind off of the Marauders? Well, that was obvious.

"So, how well do you think you'll do on your potions O.W.L?" she asked Snape.

His regular pale color seemed to come back. He looked at Lynn and half-smiled at her. "Are you that stupid? What kind of question is that?"

Lynn shrugged. "I just wanted you to take your mind off of...the you know whats."

"Whos?"

Lynn nodded. "Exactly."

"What do you think you'll get for potions?"

She shrugged. "Probably the same as you, maybe a little lower. How bout you Lily?"

"I'm not taking them this year. You ought to know that. That's next year." She looked out the window again.

When she looked back at the silent two, she saw that Lynn had laid her head down on Snape's lap, sleeping, and he was playing with her hair.

She sighed, and then looked back out of the window. When was she going to find someone like that for her? She hadn't had a boyfriend since second year, and she was starting to get a little desperate.

----

"Before we begin the feast, first years be aware that the Forbidden Forest is restricted to all students..."

"Nervous?" Lily whispered to Lynn, who nodded in return. "Why?"

She shrugged. "I don't know. I started getting all-nervous and everything ever since this afternoon, when he came crashing in our compartment. I was so successful in tuning them out of my life till now. Why is that?"

"Maybe you think that they're going to prank you now."

Lynn shook her head. "I know that's not it."

"Maybe without knowledge that you think it."

Lynn stared at her suspiciously, but Lily just shrugged and turned back to the head table as the first year sorting began.

---

"What if the prank is the sequel to the one during first year?" Lynn asked Lily in the Gryffindor common room. "What if this time, Peter comes up to me and does that stuff?"

"Don't worry about it," Lily assured her. "I don't even think they remember Sirius asking you to take that walk with him."

Lynn looked at her with pity. "Of course they remember. That's how the rivalry with Sev started."

"If you just tune them out...again...nothing will happen. Nothing so far has happened to me."

"Well that's because Potter's got his eye on you!" she yelled. "Of course nothing's going to happen to you!"

Lily smiled and shook her head. She was used to Lynn yelling like that when she got nervous. "And yet I continue to badger at him."

Lynn sighed and leaned back in her chair. Her eyes got wide when she heard a low voice behind her.

"What're you guys doing?" he said.

"Easy up, Moony," another said. Lynn recognized him as Sirius. Moony was Remus Lupin. "We're not doing anything wrong."

Lynn had memorized they're nicknames, so she knew what they were talking about, back in her first year. She hadn't shared this with anyone, since she had really tuned them all out of her life, until now.

"Not doing anything wrong?" Remus said. "You're bugging Prongs."

Prongs...Lynn thought. Who's Prongs? Oh yeah, James Potter.

"Well..." Sirius lowered his voice, so Lynn couldn't hear him.

She looked at Lily. Lily was quietly reading her book that she was reading on the train. By the looks of where she was, Lynn thought she either started over, or she finished already and was reading it over. Lily was one of the fastest readers that Lynn had ever met. Even Sev wasn't as fast she was.

A hysterical laugh caused her to come out of her thoughts. "Wouldn't it be hilarious if it happened to one of you two?"

"Wouldn't we need therapy if it happened to you, Wormtail?" Sirius said.

Wormtail? She didn't know who Wormtail was. Then it occurred to her. Prongs is James, Padfoot is Sirius, Moony is Remus, then Wormtail had to be Peter.

"Lily! Lynn!" someone called.

Lynn jumped from her trance, as did Lily, and turned towards the portrait hole. Maggie Smith was running to them.

Maggie Smith was a pretty girl. She had black hair, which flowed behind her as she ran. Her eyes were a baby blue, which matched her tan skin. She was slim, yet muscular. She was also on the Quidditch team, a chaser. Maggie was part of Lily and Lynn's group of people who don't have a care in the world about the Marauders.

She collapsed on the chair next to Lynn, panting from running. Lynn wondered how far she was running.

As soon as she caught her breath, she jumped up and stood in front of Lily. "The Poachers want to talk to you! You have to come! You too Lynn!"

Lynn and Lily stared at each other in confusion, then jumped up and followed Maggie out of the common room.

They ran until they came to the library. Maggie slowed down, so did the other two, and quietly snuck to a dark, private corner where they always had "meetings" with other Marauder Despisers. Most of them boys of course.

There, they met Jules and Mac Hunter, two who hate the marauders the most. Jules was a Slytherin, Mac a Ravenclaw, but were both close with this little club that Lynn and Lily formed. The Hunters were the Poachers. A name thing.

"Lily," Mac said, very quietly so it was hard for them to hear him. "I need to speak with you."

Lily nodded as Jules, Maggie, and Lynn left the two alone, leaving them the privacy that Mac needs.

"What's going on?" Lynn asked the two other girls.

"Mac wants to round everyone up for an important meeting," Jules said, brushing her black hair out of her face. "He wanted to talk to Lily. I need to ask you something, though."

Lynn nodded. "What is it?"

"How would you like to plan a prank on the Marauders?" she asked, an evil smile playing on her face. "Something that they'll ever regret playing all those pranks on us. Something that all of the Marauder Despisers can be a part of. Whether it's help planning it, or putting the plan into action. What do you say?"

Lynn looked at Maggie, who nodded in agreement. "All we have to do is to get your and Lily's opinion. If you guys want to go through with it, then we could get on with it. If you don't, then we won't do anything. Remember, this is the last year for a few of our Despisers, and they really want to get them back before they leave."

Lynn nodded. "I'll talk to Lily about it. We'll talk about it tonight, and either Lily or me will tell the Gryffindor Despisers, and they'll help spread the word when the next meeting is."

Lily and Mac joined them only seconds later. Lynn noticed that Lily and Mac were holding hands. She looked at Maggie and Jules, and noticed that they didn't notice the two holding hands.

---

"Hey, I'm going to bed guys," Maggie said with a yawn.

"Night Mags!" Lynn called. She looked around the room, and saw that no one else was there. She lowered her head closer to Lily, and whispered. "What's up with you and Mac?"

"Well, we're together now," Lily said in her usual, calm voice. Her eyes met Lynn's unbelieving ones, then smiled and nodded.

"Wow, that's really great! I'm happy for you."

"He said he's liked me ever since he first joined the Despisers. And, well, me being desperate, I said I really liked him too. After that, he talked to me about the plan. I said I would talk to you, and then we met up with you and Jules and Mags. What do you think about it?"

"I think it's great that you actually found someone. I mean, I was getting ready to get you a boyfriend myself."

"Not about that. The plan. But, yes, I was pretty desperate, I would've done anything."

Lynn looked at the Marauders' corner, then back at Lily, whose eyes got wide and death threatening. "I'm just kidding. I like the idea."

Lily nodded. "Yeah, I'm all for it also. When should we meet next?"

"Well, let us get settled. You know, fifth year O.W.L.'s coming and all. How about this Saturday?"

"Sounds great." she yawned. "I think I'm going to go to bed now. First day of classes tomorrow. Night."

Lynn nodded at her, then picked up a book that she had been reading that looked familiar, and began reading as Lily walked up to the girls' dorms.

"Narnia, book three. The Horse and His Boy. Haven't read these chronicles in ages." She opened the book and began reading.

She got as far as Shasta and Bree meet up with Aravis and Hwin when a hand was placed on her shoulder, which made her jump and squeal.

"Hello, Miller," he said.

Lynn placed a hand on her heart, and stood up and turned to face Sirius Black, the one person she didn't want to see.

"I have something to ask of you," he said.

Lynn shook her head. "Whatever it is, I don't want to hear it. I don't care--"

"What's a Despiser?"

Lynn went pale. "Why? Wh-where did you hear something stupid like that?"

"You. I heard you say something that had to do with a Despiser, and I wanted to know what it is."

Lynn grabbed her book and walked to the staircase to the girls' dorms. She turned and looked at Sirius. "It's nothing. Just a stupid thing Lily and I made up. Nothing. Um...good night then." She turned on her heel and quickly walked, more like ran, to her dorm.
