Chapter Fourteen-

Ron's face paled as he looked at Melly's urging look.

"Ron?" she questioned. "Who else is the spy?" She stood up, and put her hands on her hips as she looked down at Ron, her eyes looking hateful at the moment.

Ron stood up, very slowly. His mouth was open, but he couldn't think of anything else to say. How was he going to get out of this one?

Melly shook her head. "Are you saying that someone is spying on my father?"

Ron's bottom lip began to quiver.

She bent down, and picked up her books, and stomped off towards the castle.

She walked in the doors, and almost bumped into Harry and Hermione.

"Where are you going," Hermione asked. "Our next class is that way." She pointed to Hagrid's cabin where all the other Gryffindors were meeting up.

Melly looked at Hermione, then at Harry. Harry gave her a weird look, furrowing his eyebrows at her, looking at her suspiciously. Melly mirrored his look. Her face turned red, and she, so rudely, pushed Harry out of her way, and she stormed into the dungeons, where Snape was grading more fifth year essays.

He looked up as Melly burst through the door, and threw her books on a table. The door slammed shut behind her, and she glared at Snape.

"What's wrong?" Snape asked, standing up.

Melly slowly, and deathly, walked up to his desk. "Spy," she whispered.

Snape's face paled, if that was even possible. "Excuse me?"

"Spy!" she said a little more loudly. "Spy! Spy! Spy! Spy, spy, spy!"

"S-spy?" Snape questioned. Spy? Did she know about him? "W-what are you t-talking about?" He gulped nervously.

"There is a spy in my father's circle!" she yelled. "Do you know anything about it?"

Snape gulped nervously again, and shortly shook his head. "N-no. I'm only informed about things that c-consider m-me."

"Are you okay?" she asked, a little saner sounding than before.

Snape nodded his head. "Oh yeah. It's j-just that hearing that there is a s-s-spy, it's kind of-ah-surprising, wouldn't you say?"

Melly stood up tall, crossing her arms over her chest, looking down at Snape as he slowly sat down. She then looked straight ahead of her, smiling.

"Are you okay?" Snape asked.

Melly bit her bottom lip, now looking down at him, still smiling. "We need to find this spy. And I think I know who it is."

Who is it, do you think? Snape asked, folding his hands on the desk and leaning forward.

Melly placed her hands on the desk and leaned forward as well, licking her lips. A little girl, she answered back.

Snape raised his eyebrows at her. "A little girl? That's what you think? There are no other 'little girls' in the circle besides you."

Melly shook her head. "She isn't little, speaking size. She's little in the head. She wants to be Lord Voldemort's only girl. She's willing to kill any girl who joins him, just so she is the only girl."

"And, who is that?"

Bellatrix Lestrange.

---

Melly ended up not going to Care of Magical Creatures that day. Instead, she went straight to her dorm room, and spent the whole one hundred minutes thinking about Bellatrix being the spy. It was a perfect thought! Although, Melly couldn't think of why Bellatrix would want to spy on Lord Voldemort, it was just a logical thought. Well, who else would spy on Voldemort? Snape? Ha! That was funny.

She walked into the Divination classroom, smiling brightly. Professor Trelawny beamed when she saw that another student was looking forward to her class. Little did she know that Melly was happy that she could finally blame Bellatrix for something.

Melly sat down next to Ron, who was also sitting next to Harry, and lay her head down on his shoulder.

She lifted her head up, and whispered in his ear. "I want to thank you for telling me that there was a spy, Ron," she said.

Ron gulped and looked down at her, her smiling face making him even more nervous. He smiled back; well, tried to anyway.

He couldn't stop thinking about what he said. Hopefully, she didn't think it Snape. Actually, Ron didn't know if that was good or not. Some times in his life, Ron wished that Snape would be caught. But, now that Snape may well be, Ron was unsure if thinking that was such a good idea.

Harry leaned over to him. "What is she babbling on about, now?" he asked.

Ron looked over to Harry, who had an eyebrow raised.

Ron shrugged. "Girl nonsense," he replied.

Harry snorted. "She should go hang out with Pavarti and Lavender then."

Professor Trelawny clapped her hands to get the students' attention. "Listen everyone! Listen up! We're almost to the point where I tell you what we are doing this for. Hear the almost? Today, I want you and your friend to group up with the same group as last time, and talk about why you think you were sorted into Gryffindor. Now, I know you have talked about this many, many times; just one more for today, and you won't have to talk about it ever again."

Lavender raised her hand, and Professor Trelwany called on her. "What same group as last time?" she asked.

Professor Trelawny smiled. "On Friday, you and your friend got together with another pair. Get with the same pair."

The class got together.

Melly and Harry sat opposite of each other, Harry glaring, Melly smiling, acting like nothing was going on. Neither of them noticed Professor Trelawny watching the two intently.

Neville looked at Ron questioningly. Ron shook his head, and cleared his throat. "Shall we get started then?" When no one answered him, he cleared his throat again. "Neville? Why do you think that you're in Gryffindor?"

Neville looked at Harry, then at Melly, and back at Ron, raising his eyebrows. Ron nodded, so Neville answered.

"Uh, I think because my Gram was in Gryffindor," he said in a small voice. "My parents were also in Gryffindor, both. What about you, Ron?"

Ron looked at Harry and Melly also. He hated it when Harry got angry with Ron's girlfriends. Why did he do that, no one knew. Ron used to think it was because Harry was jealous. Then Ron thought, no. Harry is a famous wizard. If anyone deserves to be jealous of not having a girlfriend, it should be Ron.

"I think I'm in Gryffindor because my whole family has been in Gryffindor," Ron said. "Been in Gryffindor for generations, or so I've heard. The hat knew I was a Weasley, so it automatically placed me in Gryffindor. What about you, Harry?"

Harry shrugged. "I don't know; I'm actually quite curious to hear about you Melly," he asked, his voice filled with venom and hatred.

Melly blinked. "Me? Well," she said, trying to think on why she was chosen for Gryffindor; or at least looked like she was trying to think. "The hat said that my mind was in two ways: One way is the way that will lead me to greatness, power, truth, freedom, beauty, and, above all things, love. The other is the way that I must choose in order to please those who care for me. I said that I-" she lowered her voice so no one but those at their table could hear her, "I am supposed to look after someone." She lifted her head back, and sat tall again. "It put me in Gryffindor. I have yet to know which way it chose."

She held out her hand towards Harry, motioning him to state his reason.

"I already said that I didn't know," Harry said, forcefully.

Melly looked hurt. "Oh, but you must know!" she insisted. "Was it that your parents were in Gryffindor?" She raised an eyebrow at him. "No, that must not be it: you're not answering. Just giving me a dirty look; how sweet."

Harry's eyes turned into small slits.

"I wouldn't expect more from you," she said smiling sweetly. She shrugged and turned to Ron. "Are you and Hermione doing anything tonight?" she asked.

Ron looked at Harry, then back at Melly. "I don't think so," he said slowly.

Melly grinned widely. "Perfect," she whispered.

Harry's eyes grew wide all of a sudden.

Snape?

What do you want now?

Contact my father; I will have a little surprise for him tonight.

Melly smiled at Harry, tilting her head to one side.
