Story Summary:

Snape is puzzled by one of his students. She is smart and funny and everybody loves her, but Snape know the look of one who bears a dark secret, and that look is upon Alannah Leskevitch. As the Potions professor comes to know this girl, he learns that she has suffered more than he could have ever imagined. He sees in her parallels to his own life, and slowly begins to show a human side of himself that lay hidden for many years. Set in the Trio's seventh year during the Second War, love, determination, and sacrifice must rise up out of the evil that encases the world.
