Dinner that night was a celebratory affair. While Remus, Sirius and Harry had been out of the house at Diagon Alley, the other occupants had been working as hard as house elves. So, when the three of them returned home, a front hall full of flowers and balloons greeted them. Harry just grinned before slinking off to find Ron and Hermione; he had obviously been expecting all this. Sirius and Remus just laughed as they took in the redecoration, Remus wrapping his arms around Sirius's neck. A large banner floated magically above the staircase, with large red letters reading "CONGRATULATIONS REMUS AND SIRIUS". Silver and gold stars flickered across the banner, shooting around the carefully written words.
The lounge and kitchen had been given the same treatment, filled with balloons, flowers and congratulatory banners. Molly had been slaving over the fire and her cooking pot all afternoon, and had outdone herself with an absolutely exquisite meal of tender salmon and new potatoes. Dumbledore had turned up at Number 12 just before dinner, several bottles of champagne levitating at his side. "I heard there was a celebration," was his greeting as Sirius answered the door.
As the evening wore on, and the alcohol kept flowing, everyone assembled loosened up dramatically. This fact was proven by Molly's allowing Ginny to have a glass of champagne, something she normally would not have even considered allowing. Everyone agreed that Sirius and Remus's engagement was a sign of hope in the midst of the darkness that had descended over them since Voldemort's return. They were all reminded that there was still good in this world, and reasons to be happy and cheerful. Whilst there was still love, and friendship, Voldemort had no power whatsoever.
Once dinner was over, the two newly engaged lovers started to wish for the privacy of their bedroom. However, their gratitude towards their friends for what they had done for them kept them from turning in, so they waited up until Fred, George, Ron, Ginny, Harry and Hermione left the party for bed before they made their excuses.
Half walking, half running up the several flights of stairs to their bedroom, Sirius and Remus were still in the landing of the house's top storey when Sirius's love and passion towards Remus took over his body, and he grabbed the shorter man, lips trying to kiss every part of his face at the same time. Remus grabbed Sirius around the waist, kissing madly back, pushing himself as close to the other man as physically possible.
Sirius pushed Remus gently back against the wall, pinning him up against it. Lips found their way to Remus's neck, and his tongue began to trace the fading scars from the last werewolf transformation. This elicited a low groan from the back of Remus's throat as he tilted his head back and closed his eyes. "We... we should go somewhere... a bit more private..." Remus gasped as one of Sirius's hands found its way inside his robes. "Someone'll hear us..."
Not breaking from his assault of Remus's mouth, Sirius moved away from the wall, pulling Remus after him, and slowly drew him down the corridor, still locked in a heated kiss. Passionately slamming his fiancé against the bedroom door, Sirius fumbled with the handle until the door swung open. Remus, who had been relying on the door for support, fell into the bedroom, and lay sprawled out on the floor. Sirius quickly bent down, sweeping Remus up into his arms and dumping him ungraciously on the bed. Immediately he was on top of his lover, grinding his hips against Remus's as his hands busied themselves with the fastenings of the other man's robes. Breaking the kiss and rising himself up onto his knees, Sirius quickly finished undressing Remus, until he was lying naked underneath him. Sitting up, Remus quickly returned the favour.
"Sirius... want you... need you..." Remus struggled to string a sentence together as Sirius gently pushed him back down onto the bed, his hands venturing lower and lower. Gasping madly, Remus wrapped his legs around Sirius's waist, forcing them closer together. Sirius grinned, teasing Remus by moving away, hands scrabbling through his discarded robes.
Finding his wand, Sirius fumbled back over to Remus. He held his wand in his teeth in order to use both hands to position Remus as he wanted; flat on his back, hips raised upwards, legs open and wide apart. Satisfied, Sirius took his wand and muttered "Lubrico", his wand pointed at his throbbing member. Happy with the charm, he bent over Remus, capturing his lips in a gentle kiss. "Ready?" he asked, his voice deep with desire. Remus nodded; the ability to speak seemed to have left him. With a devilish grin, Sirius positioned himself above Remus and gently slid into his lover. His last conscious thought before the pleasure took over control of his brain was that it was times like this when he was incredibly thankful for the soundproofing charm set up on the bedroom walls.
