It was a dark and stormy night. Well, actually, only because James had enchanted the ceiling to look as if it was. "It suits the mood," he would reply to anyone who asked.

Instead of the usual feast, MWPP decided to sneak out of the castle and Trick-or-Treat around Hogsmeade, which meant.

"CANDY!" James yelled energetically, leaping up into the air and.falling flat on his face. Sirius snickered.

For the first couple of hours, they ran around getting candy. But after a few hours, everyone but Peter was tired.

"I know!" Sirius said brightly. "Let's throw eggs at the First Years!"

"No." Remus said firmly.

"But-" Sirius started.

"NO."

"I-"

"No."

"See-"

"No."

"Maybe-"

"No.

"Remus-"

"NO!!!!"

Sirius pouted. Remus ignored him. "Instead of GETTING candy, we can GIVE OUT candy."

Sirius and James looked at each other, and, having nothing better to do, shrugged and nodded. Peter, on the other hand, continued Trick-or-Treating, as he loved candy.

James divided the candy. "Remus and I will each take a house this block, and Sirius will take a house on the one across from us."

Remus eyed his pile of candy suspiciously. "Where's the chocolate?" Sirius and James exchanged glances. "Well," James said cautiously. "Sirius- "

At once, Remus tackled Sirius, screaming, "CHOCOLATE!!"

Sirius held him off quite easily, but said, "Remus, CALM DOWN."

"NO!" Remus yelled.

"Okay," said Sirius. "How's this: ONE BAR."

Remus nodded eagerly.

Sirius sighed, reached into his pocked, and dropped a piece into Remus's outstretched hand. Remus instantly devoured it.

Only when he was out of sight did he recover his usual calm dignity. "Oh my God," he thought, blushing at the memory of his earlier behavior. "That was SO embarrassing."

But then he remembered the chocolate and its glorious, delicious taste. He smiled and thought, "It was well worth it."

***

"Trick-or-Treat!" A little girl had rung Remus's doorbell. He smiled fondly at her. "Hi! What's your name?" he asked kindly, kneeling down to her level.

***

"Trick-or-Treat!" Another little girl decided to ring a doorbell, but made the fatal mistake of ringing Sirius's.

Sirius already had pale skin and long, jet black hair, so when he added fangs, a long cloak, a black outfit, and the fact that he was a really good actor, he had a pretty impressive costume.

Sirius, dressed as Dracula, strode to the door and opened it with a dramatic swish of his black cloak (with lining that was blood-red). "Hello, Leetle Girl," he said in a Dracula accent, while smiling very scarily. He then cackle very scarily, adding to the effect.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" screamed the little girl, running away. Sirius's evil expression was promptly replaced by an extremely mischievous look.

"Next!"

*** "Here you go," James said, giving the little boy a piece of candy.

"Thank you!" the little boy said, looking delighted and popping the candy into his mouth.

Suddenly, without warning, he turned into a large guinea pig.

"Excellent!" James exclaimed gleefully. "It worked!"

***

Meanwhile, Sirius was running up and down his block, (his arms spread so as to keep his cloak billowing out) chasing everyone off, and laughing maniacally, (Not to mention SERIOUSLY scaring everyone.)

It was actually rather funny, if you enjoyed things like that.

Sirius LOVED it.
