Prologue

"SIRIUS BLACK!" A teenage girl with flowing dark brown hair stormed into the compartment of four boys. "You FOUL, loathsome little....urgh! I can't even think of the right thing to call you!"

The boy in question raised his eyebrow and glanced at his raven-haired best friend next to him. "Do you know what she is on about, James?"

James shrugged, pushing his glasses up his nose to look at the girl in their doorway. "What's going on, Hunt?" The girl rolled her eyes, disappeared for a second, and came back pushing a blonde girl with her head down in front of her.

"Uhh...Scarlett! How nice to see you!" Sirius swallowed nervously, looking at the bloodshot hazel eyes of his most recent ex-girlfriend. The girl sniffed, looking up at her friend holding her.

"Kaelie, can we just go back, please?" Her eyes bore into Kaelie's, who paused before nodding silently. Scarlett left in a hurry, leaving the four boys to gaze up into the angry face of Kaelie Hunt.

She walked forward, pushing a finger into Sirius' chest. "I told you, Black. I warned you. Do you remember what that conversation we had was about?"

"You...you told me not to hurt Scarlett," he squeaked, sinking further down his seat to try to get away from the girl.

"Yes, I did," Kaelie said slowly, as if talking to a toddler. "And what did you do?"

Sirius gulped, looking around to his mates, who were looking everywhere but at him. "I hurt her?" he said, looking back at Kaelie.

"Yes. And you will pay." With saying that, she left the compartment.

"Oh dear Sirius," his sandy-haired friend said. "I think you've gone and caused some trouble for yourself." His head disappeared behind his book.

"Eep."

"Ignore Remus, Sirius. What can that girl do anyway?" James slapped a hand on Sirius' shoulder. The boy sitting across from him chuckled.

"I think that's exactly why he should be worried, James." He ran a hand through his blonde locks.

"Thanks, Peter." Sirius mumbled, before groaning. What had he done?

Kaelie made her way back to her friends, greeting random people along the way. Suddenly, she was engulfed by a powerful force, attached a large amount of red hair.

"KAELIE!" the force shouted, squeezing the girl with all her strength.

Kaelie stared, shocked, before realizing that it was in fact her good friend Lily Evans. "Oh god, Lily! You gave me a heart attack! You're also about the create the death of Kaelie Hunt by asphyxiation."

Lily pulled back and looked at her as if she was mad. "What?"

"It means I couldn't breathe, you twat!" She slapped her arm playfully. "How has your summer been? I hope that horse of a sister hasn't been giving you too much trouble."

Lily snorted and began to walk with Kaelie to their compartment. "Nah, Petunia wasn't there half the time." She put on a voice, "she's met someone."

"Oh, gag me." Kaelie poked her tongue out in disgust. "He's ugly, isn't he?"

Lily giggled. "Well, I can't say much for looks as I haven't met the man yet. But! His name is Vernon." She scrunched up her nose.

"Vernon?" Kaelie looked at her, incredulously. "Oh dear god!"

They reached Kaelie's compartment and piled inside, still laughing. They stopped immediately, however, once they spotted Scarlett. Poor Scarlett, Kaelie thought miserably. Scarlett Jones was one of the prettiest and most independent girls of the senior school, and for Kaelie to see her hugging her knees with tears in her eyes was not a good thing. Sirius Black is going to feel my wrath, she thought, her eyes glaring with an angry passion.
